My favorite wash day combo. The texture of that gel looks nice and creamy. Omg, look at your curls. That's great that is held up to the rain. Yes, have to try that gel. Thank you for that review.
Hey Rae! As a fellow low porosity girl, I have found that I can’t do wash and gos on soaking wet hair. It needs to be wet or damp. Our hair is already struggling to get the moisture in. Then we add more water and it just can’t absorb the gel. Also, oil for low porosity hair is like a blocker. It definitely deals in the moisture but then it doesn’t allow the gel to fully absorb. Anyway, your hair came out beautiful!
That is true for some LoPo girls, but others like doing their hair on soaking wet hair or even in the shower, which is where I fall. My hair loves to be soaking wet when styling. I do agree that oils can block moisture from getting in and that is why I rarely use oils. However, if your hair is already moisturized then the oil can help to seal in that moisture and also help to soften stronger holding gels, which is how I used it here. I think the gel held up well to the oil and my hair was moisturized so I was pleased. Thanks for tuning in.
Great wash and go! I really liked the fluffy yet defined look. It also held up very well on 3rd day! I have enjoyed NLS products as well and will definitely be buying this okra defining gel! Thanks for the 15% off, I will enter through your link! Thanks for sharing this new product!
Hey Rae!🤗 I love your wash and goes! This one is no exception. I've never tried NLS and based off your results, I ordered the leave in and the okra gel with the code you gave out. Thank you for sharing that! Until next time, take care!
Your hair turned out great! 😍 I was getting nervous when you kept applying product but then you stopped because you didn't want flaking. I'm so glad it didn't flake on you, I had my fingers crossed 😂 My okra gel arrived and I will be checking it out this week!
Your coils are definitely coiling! I love this wash and go 😍 I just ordered the gel. Their flaxseed custard I don't care for, but I have high hopes for this one!
Beautiful results Rae, you have great hair definition all days! So far I have used the Fenugreek Detangling Pre Poo and the Clarifying shampoo and like them both. I ordered two jars of the Okra Gel last week and looking forward to trying all the rest of the NLS products. 😄
Your hair looked great on day 3 aside from the dents from the puffs! The definition was holding up really well! And on day 1 I loved the shine! I may need to get this gel! TFS 🖤
Hi Loved the video. Will definitely be getting my hands on this product. As for the scalp oil, do the instructions say to apply the oil to your hair strands? I usually only use oil to break my gel cast.
Thank you! I was going by what the directions on the gel said. But in any event, it wasn't oily enough to cause me to dislike the product. Thanks for tuning in.
RaeRae… I love the results. I’m sold. You only used a small amount too. I’m heavy handed. I need the 12oz 😆. I’m definitely getting it. I like Natural Little Secret too.
Thank you. I'm heavy-handed, too, but I tried hard not to be so that it didn't flake. I really like this gel and can't wait for the 12 oz. to come out. Thanks for tuning in.
I haven't tried the flaxseed gel yet, but I do have it. I am going to try to get to it soon. Any suggestions on the best way to use it. Also, it is going to be a limited edition product so hopefully you'll be able to stock up on it when it comes back in stock. Thanks for tuning in.
@@NaturalRaeRae I am stocked already... it's very light and loose texture... I usually pair it with another slimy custard-like styler like soultanicals hair glaze or curlsmith flexijelly (over leave in of course). I only really just started watching your channel haven't really figured out your preferences in order to give you a solid recommendation! Only that you should try it - and get v and folks to buy it using ur code before it disappear!
@@melleciosa Do you apply the flaxseed gel first and then the curlsmith flexijelly or the curlsmith flexijelly first and then the flaxseed gel as a topper?
@@bklynbutters13 i would do leave-in, flaxseed, then flexijelly (but if i were using soultanicals, i would do leave-in, hair glaze, then flaxseed)... it's about the consistency of each product (the "thickest" last)... i hope that makes sense
@@melleciosa Thanks so much! I don't have the soultanicals hair glaze, but I do have NLS flaxseed gel and the curlsmith flexijelly, so I'll try your combo very soon.
Looks good. Reminds me of Eco Slay’s Jello Shot, which give me beautiful definition. I use it on top of UFD. I get 16 oz of Jello Shot for $22. (I think that’s the price). Not sure if I’m gonna try this one. Your curls are beautiful.
@@NaturalRaeRae When I use it it’s not hard. Initially it was before I started using UFD. I sometimes use Miche Beauty’s Lavish Leave In first (not a lot) then UFD (as if I was using this product only) and then come in with the JelloShot as a topper (1-2 quarter size amount in each small section). It’s perfect every time.
I really tried to make this gel work, but it didn’t. I tried it with the avocado cream, another time with the banana leave in, and by itself. It doesn’t define my curls, and I don’t get any hold. I’m shocked because it has the holding agent in it that my hair loves. So I gave it away.
Nope. It wasn't overpowering or anything, I could just feel it. Since I don't use oils, it is going to stand out to me. If you use oils then you probably won't really notice the feeling as much. I definitely think the oil is light compared to some oils I've used.
