I'm so mad at how he has over simplified this process! I feel like such a nut for the hours ive spent on my hair when he's made her hair flawless in minutes! this is amazing and I want to make an appointment!
I have been trying to wear a decent wash and go since I first went natural five years ago, and it wasn't until seeing this method that I was finally able to do so! I was skeptical considering how simple he made this look, but it really does work, and I have kinky 4a hair. I used products I already had handy and followed his instructions to a tee, and my hair came out perfectly! I can't believe I can now wash AND style my hair in less than an hour! The wash and go is now my go-to style! Somebody give this guy a medal! He's my new natural hair hero! Lol
Finally somebody that understands a dime size just doesn’t get it with thick curly/kinky hair. Great video... First time watching one of your videos and I enjoyed the information provided
I have to say Dickey was right on. I did a wash n go this morning and my curl pattern is awesome. This saved me 2 hours of time. I totally understand that the industry as well as AAW was so uninformed about our hair and it’s great to hear and test the recommendations from a hair stylist. Thank you Dickey, I look forward to purchasing your line.
I had never heard of Anthony Dickey until recently, when I ran across your wash and go videos. I am so glad I did. As a woman of color, who has been struggling with my natural 4ish hair for YEARS!!. I will definitely soak up all of your advice and see where it leads me. I just wish I could afford to use HAIR RULES products and or take a trip to your NY salon for a wash and go appointment. My hair could definitely use it. Your seem to have a genuine love for this and a beautiful spirit. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and talents.
I know I'm all types of late, but, severity means several things. In this instance (imo) what he means is the intensity of the curl pattern . I think I'm a 4 hair type something or another, so of course the severity of my curl is greater than a 3 hair type something or another.
I just used Hair Rules quench and the curly cream. I loved my hair, the way it captured my curls better than expected. I can't wait to see how it works in the summer. I met a woman in Ricky's who had hair that is denser than mine and she loves it. Her hair was lovely.
Thank you for putting this on you tube I have been natural for years and my hair finally doing what I want it to do ppl ask me what I do to my hair I say I do it in the shower. Thanks again
I love this technique!! For my type four hair I NEVER thought anything would bring out my curl pattern. However, I still feel like I need to wash my hair weekly with actual shampoo because when I add products on top of my hair unwashed but just cowashed like Dickey shows, it either forms white balls or my hair won't be as defined..
This method seems very labor intensive and product intensive, especially for tighter hair patterns. I've tried doing something like this to my 4B hair many times (before knowing of Anthony Dickey or that he uses this method) and it would take so much time and product that i was impossible.
So me, my sister and bestie have been doing this Right since the 6th grade lol,,we called it the "Wet&Wavy" lol,,never used gel or spent half the time that I've seen on Every "wash and go" vid,,and definitely didn't have to see a pro for something oh so simple
I like him, but he says you can't overmoisturise curlier hair type. I have 3c hair and my hair is over moisturised since dyeing it with Garnier box dye. I heat style my hair and when it's straight it is super dry however, when wet and I deep condition, the strands stretches and hair is mushy. I have started using heavy protein treatments which helps but my hair has never been the same. I dyes it 4 years ago. Kinda stuck on what to do now and giving up 🤷♀️
relaxed hair does not curl up like that when wet. plenty of videos are on youtube of customers reviewing the curling whip and curling cream with similar results on natural hair
I have a question, I hope you can help me. I'm newly natural, I've just reached my 1 yr natural hair birthday day. I'm in the military, and we work out all the time. I co-wash twice a day (Pantene Cowash). I use Beautiful Textures leave in conditioner, and Ecco Styler gel w/Shea Moisture Curl defining cream. But I have noticed after showering, I've noticed that my hair has a little frizz. I add the Eccstyling gel and my curls are really defined, but between the curls there seems to be a bit of frizzy pieces. I'm wondering if I need to upgrade my products, to a more moisturizing type of product? Or should I stop co- washing as much; which means that my hair would be dirty more often then I would prefer? I found your videos via RU-vid, and I'm thinking of purchasing your products, but are they suitable for co-washing twice a day? And will they eliminate the frizz I'm experiencing. This wasn't the case from the beginning, but now I have this frizz issue. Do you have any suggestions?
Hope you tried the products and hope they helped...sometimes you can just re-saturate the dry section and apply a cream or gel product to remove frizz after the fact.
I don’t know if I’m late but the answer to your question is you need to shampoo your hair not co-wash. You have product build up that’s why your hair is frizzing. You need a good clarifying shampoo & it can take weeks to get all the build up off.
Question: So I've been do the ADM on both my and my daughter's hair. We thought we had found GOLD; however, now we have separate issues. She is a strong 4c (thick when fro'd and thick when twisted). We get the curls wet but they dry differently. Only once did she get curls with length - never again. She struggles with white residue on black hair. I've gone through tons of various products and drying methods. I don't want her to become frustrated as I am teaching her how to manage her hair and that our hair is different. Please advise. I am a 4b/4c (thick when fro'd but then when twisted). My wash and go's were beautiful. Except for the clumping I was getting. But someone told me to just pull them apart after it dried, I think this might cause damage though. 2. My neck started hurting and I started getting dizzy sometimes. Anyway, I was loving it. Until my last 2 or 3. My hair is not curling up the same as before unless I use a gel which makes it hard and crunchy. I have tried to switch up the products and drying methods. *drying methods - air dry, soft hood dryer, hard hood dryer, or a few mins of both air and heat dryer
I have natural hair but I also have seborrhea. I already know dandruff shampoos don’t work it just burned the heck out of my scalp. What’s something that will cleanse & ease up my scalp? I’d love to use just Co wash but that doesn’t really take my itching away
@@VirgosGroove3 guess what I went to another dermatologist and they told me that I don’t have seborrhea. doesn’t really help them much. So I just make sure that I keep my hair and scout moisturizing clean so it doesn’t itch.
I have tried three times to do wash and go, but just can’t get it I have tried 3 different gels and one custard my hair looks like a wet Afro. Please help. Looks even worst as I have gray hair. Any suggestions greatly appreciate it.
Many people seem to need quite a few tries to figure out the best way to do a washngo on their hair. I've found that keeping the hair drenched and soaked in conditioner helps to soften and give weight to my hair. I applied gel to my hair when it was less saturated with water and product, and found that the gel was better able to set before my hair shrunk all the way up. Dickey does also suggest stretching the hair out after its dried. Like, stretch the roots with a blowdryer (some people band the hair). You could maybe even wait til your hair is mostly dry, then stretch it and let it dry the rest of the way.
Kink: a sharp twist or curve in something that is otherwise straight. +Cb Sampson Kinky refers to the zig zag pattern some women have. It has literal kinks in it which give it a z shape. Why is that offensive if the definition is not negative but literal?
who does this guru thinks he is kidding about this hair texture crap. Listen black afro hair is distinct and seperate. It is not an accident that this advert depictsladies with loosley coiled curly hair as opposed to black afro tightly coiled hair. naaah dont buy this video one bit!
