Excellant job. Any concern about the strength of the box when supporting the washer/dryer? I'm concerned that the MDF may not hold up over time with that much weight? Thoughts? Thanks. Karl

VERY IMPRESSIVE, JOB WELL DONE!!!!! I must say your workshop is also as Impressive. If you have the time could you show how you Put your shop together? You have a lot of stuff in a small place, which is very cool. I'm in very small part of the house., just to do odd stuff here and there for the house. How you set up your dust collector for your tools, etc... That for me is amazing how you can do all those things.

Nice job, I'm planning on doing the same and you've given me a few ideas. I had a few questions. Why didn't you install a fabric softener dispenser? Does the dispenser leak or do you have to wait awhile for it to stop once you've closed it, I notice it was dripping for a second or two once closed. Does the washer move? I was thinking of drilling in some holes for the washing machines legs to sit on the base.

Great video and awesome job! I had a question though as I would like to do a build similar to this one but I am very new to woodworking. This may be a dumb question but I noticed that you put a 1 inch trim along the front of the 3/4 MDF which would leave a 1/4 inch of overhang. How did that effect the drawer slides when you installed them? Did you put a 1/4 inch spacer in between the bracket and side paneling or was it able to just fit fine without it? Or did I misunderstand?

How is the pedestal holding up? Asking because I want to build one but I see some build with 2x4 and some with 3/4 in plywood like yours.

I like the comments about the price point of tools compared to the cost of materials. I guess if you're comfortable buying a $200 product from a multi-million dollar facility, then good for you.

Loved the video! As a woodworking noob, what is happening at 3:27? What is the tool that you're using? The same at 3:38? How did you place and level the appliances inside the cabinet?
@GlassImpressions
@GlassImpressions 7 лет назад
At those time stamps, I am using a Festool Domino. It is a machine that creates loose tenon joinery. Think like a biscuit or plate jointer but with a domino shaped piece of wood. Google it! Expensive tool but worth every penny! I leveled the appliances with their factory leveling feet

Do you think i could use this www.rockler.com/table-leaf-aligners-6-pairs to joint the hutch to the pedestal or would using dowels be a better option?

how much clearance did you leave to get the washer and dryer in? And does the hutch come off or is it permanent? I am attempting to do this diy and am just concerned with getting the washer and drying up and inside
@GlassImpressions
@GlassImpressions 9 лет назад
Cameron Heidrick Leave an inch or two. but the hutch is removable. So we put the base in place, then put the washer and dryer on top, then installed the hutch.
@heidrickster
@heidrickster 9 лет назад
Glass Impressions awesome. thanks for the quick reply. I dont have a domino to join the hutch. What would you recommend? I do have a kreg jig but i think most people shy away from pocket screws with mdf.
@wannabewoodsmith4217
@wannabewoodsmith4217 7 лет назад
Just wondering how this is holding up after more than 2 years. If you made it again would you still have used MDF? I would think the vibration and moister might cause fatigue. I will be making these soon and would prefer to make it out of MDF, so if yours is holding up really well, then I am happy to save the money and finishing time. Never even thought of the soap dispenser ..... Thanks for sharing !!!
@GlassImpressions

WannaBeWood Smith we moved but it was holding up fine. If I would do it again, I would use a high quality plywood.
