Thank you so much! I had a repairman come out today to fix my GE washer which is only 7 years old. The cost to repair would be $1600 when it only cost $1300 new. It says a lot about Speed Queen when the company my repairman works for doesn't sell Speed Queen, but that's what he recommended to me.

My TC5 washer was delivered three days ago (1/12/23). If my SQ lives up to the quality of the brand's reputation, it'll be that last washer I'll ever have to buy -- and at my age, may even outlive me! However, I can guarantee that won't happen if I'm literally force stuffing king size comforters into the machine with the expectation the washer will actually perform as intended. It's the agitation and turnover that gets clothes/bedding clean. No way can the agitator work properly, nor the comforter turn over overloaded like this. King size sheets, blankets and maybe mattress covers should be able to handle, but not a bulky king comforter. I only have full/queen size comforters to wash, and won't be taxing and hastening the breakdown of my TC5 by stuffing them into the machine with the expectation they'll get thoroughly cleaned. Fortunately, there's two laundromats within a half mile of me that have king size SQ washers to handle the job.

That’s good to know. I purchased this model today at Bray & Scarff. I should have it in about two weeks. My last machine just died on me at the end of last week. It has about a year more warranty; however, I’ve decided that I wanted something durable. My old machine would either ‘walk’ with heavier loads or shut off.

@@LiberatedMind1 It's terrific. I have not had any issues with the washer walking or becoming imbalanced, as I used to have with my top loader washer. Additionally, regardless of how dirty my clothes come, working outdoors in the garden, they come out clean. In fact, I have a load in the washer now.
@LiberatedMind1
@LiberatedMind1 10 месяцев назад
@@threadlovert1393 Glad to hear. When I have my own place i’ll get speed queen combo as well. My folks got a maytag combo, the dryer is fine but the washer didnt make it a year and a half. Suspension rod always off balance so much that it destroyed its internals. Replaced under warranty but then the clutch wire crapped out. Poor quality plastic parts and thin aluminum wiring, that’s whirlpool for you.
@threadlovert1393
@threadlovert1393 10 месяцев назад
@@LiberatedMind1 When the time comes, I'm sure you'll be happy with your purchase. My old machines were Maytag's also. Sometimes, the dryer would not dry the clothes, so I had to run it a few times. That did not happen often; however, it was still annoying. The Maytag washer was the one that gave me constant problems. So when it broke down a third time, even though it was still covered under warranty, I decided not to get it repaired and started researching for another washing machine. Which led me to Speed Queen. I remember the commercial washers/dryers in the college laundry room and my first apartment after college; they just worked. I did a lot of research and went with Speed Queen. Since I occasionally had issues with the Maytag dryer, I purchased the set. I'm glad I made the purchase. The bonus is I've been able to load the washer with bulky items, like washing two full-sized quilts at a time without it walking, giving me an error message, or shutting off. My Maytag could not handle that. I have a working-line German shepherd; she's a little over a year old. Her blankets and our little Bichon/poodle's blankets get tossed in the machine weekly with no issues. Our Maytag would 'walk' when I placed their loads of blankets/stuffed toys. I learned quickly to break it up into two loads. Those days are gone with my Speed Queen.

@@DylBuilder1 Yup thanks. Ended up buying the TR7. My salesperson was very honest. Said either use mechanical agitation to speed up getting stains out or use chemistry and time. I chose the latter because I'm tired of my washer causing more "wear and tear" than my own use. I was able to get out some nasty chainsaw bar oil stains yesterday. Just soaked for a while with a bit more stain remover than usual (which normally isn't needed with a classic wash). But I'll take the tradeoff. I only get filthy as a weekend warrior (normally doing engine repairs). I think the TR7 is fine for "white collar" types (like me) who don't get nasty stains on the regular. And I look at it like for the roughly $100 more than the TC5, I basically bought 2 years extra warranty. Thanks again for the videos. They helped with my decision.

I see also that the warranties for different Speed Queen models vary from 3, 5, and 7 years. 3 years is not all that great though much better than the only 1 year warranties of the Maytag, Samsung, LG's etc.. It does not turn clothes over in water, it is so weak on cleaning performance and many of us who have this say the same thing, it’s a unique machine but it just doesn’t clean. Things may look and smell clean after being submerged in water yes, but deep down they are not. I recommend watching a video of the TR series watch action VS the TC series. Dramatic difference in performance, TC series is the classic flexvane no BS top loader old school machine with a real classic SQ agitator that they’ve used for decades now. If I was you I would sell that right away for a TC series….you think ur clothes are clean now wait until you get a real performing machine I cannot believe speed Queen did this and made this model but it’s why they had to bring the TC series back into the market too many fires were lit after releasing this new TR series consumers were very unhappy.

Another example of things that are made with bad intention and still sold is the whole MTD over Craftsman buyout, after Craftsman tools and equipment having a long history of durability and reliability that’s crashed downhill under MTD’s ownership, big shocker, Craftsman is now made horrendously cheap and flimsy compared to how things were made under its first production father AYP and most recently Husqvarna. Have you ever for a moment looked at what the TC series does compared to the TR series when it agitates? There is a magnificent difference on how much stronger the rate of currents are in an empty tub of water in the TC series or any classic series compared to pretty much no current in the TR series because it’s swishes back-and-forth the agitator does not flex back and fourth it follows the tub, there is nothing to help turn the entire load over frequently enough to deliver the most optimal cleaning results, and without that as a Toploading machine you cannot thoroughly clean clothes but you’ll certainly get away with doing it just barley. I’ve been a technician for 15 years and I’m not hating on this machine just pointing out it does not clean nearly as well it provides a delicate soft clean which is not enough for most people and the soil they need to remove, and we have the same washer, I also have brand new speed Queen commercials at work that I’ve used for the last year, and have had many old Queens in my life prior to that so I’m very aware of how both systems operate and I can see with my own two eyes which really cleans and which one swishes stuff around and gives a delicate small clean. It does about the bare minimum as one would say. Physics do not lie and the backlash that company received was so bad they had no choice but to bring back the flexvane agitator system. I think that alone says something however.

@@Archifx And for another thing I left out the physical engineering of the TR series behind the front panel is very concerning, the way the tub is balanced and mounted raised alot of worry’s, Sharkie626 explained it perfectly in his video of what I had already noticed about our TR machine. It’s unique but just not for someone who has dirty laundry with a fuzzy white husky. Not hating just calling out what I’ve experienced in comparison to what they also have always made.

@Fix It Now Have you gotten your TC5 to compare the two? Been looking forward to that review in comparison to this one. And curious if you’ve had any issues with your dryer getting too hot.

@@julie6032 This shows the difference of the two. We have TC series at my work that I use on the daily, so I certainly can tell the difference on top of that I’ve had knowledge of these traditional machines for decades. However I have no idea why she says the new series is more quiet, when it drains and spins it’s so much louder than the traditional models. The TC machines are smooth and create a nice hum during agitation spin is not quite as loud as new series. She is ridiculous lol…

@@Archifx that’s awesome. You’re making me really want this machine..checked it out yesterday but was only hesitant bc of the CU. So you don’t have issues fitting anything in that thing?

Ridiculous they can't make one without an agitator

Why would you not want an agitator? Moron

Used to have a non-agitator Whirlpool and hated non-agitator. Bought a top loader Speed Queen set in 2017 and love it.
