I’ve got about a week’s worth of washing to do and I can do it quickly here in the wringer washer. When I started the machine, I got a taste for some peanut butter cookies and I figured, with the oven right there, I might as well whip up a batch.
Turns out, I was actually in over my head a little bit because the machine washes so fast, there hardly is any time to do anything else.

Here is the recipe for the peanut butter cookies I made:
Peanut butter cookies recipe:
Preheat oven to 375
1/2 a cup of butter or shortening
1/2 a cup of peanut butter
1/2 a cup of cane sugar
1/2 a cup of brown sugar
1 egg
(Sometimes I add a handful or two of peanut butter chips / drops)
1 & 1/4 cup sifted flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
Bake for 10 - 12 mins

I was born in 1952 and my mother had a wringer washer. It was on wheels so it could be moved over to the sink when in use. The wringers weren't enclosed as shown here, and my mother used a large wooden spoon to lift up the washed clothes and feed them into the wringer.

My grandma had one. She always said, "don't get your tit in the wringer." Thought she was just kidding. As an adult, my occupation was as a mammographer. I actually did a mammo on an old lady whose breast wast deformed and scared. I asked her, "How?" She said she accidently got her tit in the wringer

I miss my wringer washer so much!!! I'm homeless right now and wash my clothes out by hand in rain water. It works. The Florida sun shine dries them fast. Now if you will excuse me I have some P.B. cookies to bake in my brick oven my son made me. I loved your video. 😊

I remember my grandmother having BOTH of these appliances. I used to beg her to let me put the clothes through the ringer. I didn't always get to do it, but when I did I thought I was very important. 😊 Gosh, that was a long time ago!

That's Awesome!! I have a wringer washer like yours, mine might be a little older because it has a red quick release bar and yours is blue. It's in storage because I live in an apartment and it's kind of loud. I need to take it apart again and pack it with bearing grease. I wish that I owned my own house, then I would start using it again.

I think I want to eat the cookies. Here's a thought: You could buy a timer that the washer plugs into, so that it only stays on as long as you want.

3 to 5 minutes is about right for these Maytag wringer washers, may have been a similar wash time recommended for the Maytag automatic washers in the early 60’s since they had a similar agitator to the wringer washers but with the lint filter in the agitator. Drying times were 15 minutes for small loads, 25 to 35 minutes for medium loads, 35 to 45 minutes for large loads but that was ‘damp dry’ for ironing. The thinking may have been if you partially dried things, could iron things to keep things moving along.
