Thank you so much for your advice. My machine was making a rattling noise, and I found a tassel in my filter. You saved me a new machine! I appreciate it!
Excellent vid mate! After spending the day taking my machine apart to change a snapped drive belt I was so disappointed that when giving it a test run it made a terrible noise and the drum stopped spinning. Watched this vid and found a 4 inch nail had wedged itself through one of the holes in the drum! It’s now running smooth as the day i got it 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🙃
This video saved my washing machine! Bra wire inside the machine. I gently moved the drum until the wire poked through a hole and pulled the wire with pliers! Thank you!!!!
Thank you so much. Very helpful video and even I, an old lady who's rubbish with anything technical, managed to easily remove the filter and clean it out. Found 3 cotton buds and a pound coin with the rim worn away. Hopefully that will stop the strange rattling sound. Thanks again.
Oh my god!!!! You are a genius!!!!! My washing machine was making a horrible clanging noise from the drum and as soon as you said bra wire I checked the little holes inside and what did I find!!! My stooooopid bra wire!!!! Thank you thank you thank you ❤️
This vid helped me solve my problem. Rattling noise coming from the machine turned out to be something in the lint filter as the video pointed out to check. There's something pumping (and spinning) behind the lint filter which is where I discovered the noise was originating. I stopped the machine and cleaned the filter, but after replacing it and continuing the cycle it came back quickly (not even 2 mins). Opened the lint filter whilst the machine was doing its cycle and a small piece of debris came rushing out with water. Problem solved. Make sure you have towels.
Not being in any manner technically inclined, I found this very interesting. Takes the fear factor out of taking a look before reaching for the telephone directory.
If nothing is stuck in the drum then it's probably not the bearings causing the noise. Washing machine nowadays use less water much much less so you need a lot less detergent detergent has become more concentrated too so use hardly any at all if you use gel or powder you can control what's going in. Treat stains using a bar of household soap before you put it in the machine and don't overload the machine either then you should not hear any noise from your machine. Hope this helps BTW just use the tinyist dot of detergent and remember to pretreat stains before you go putting your clothes into the machine. This will help them get out properly once in there. I hope this will help.
I have just repaired my washing machine with your help. Found a big L-shaped nail knocking about. And grits in the filter for the water in-tube. Purring washing machine now - thank you.
Thank you my machine was making a banging/scratching noise this past week. After seeing this video I checked the lint filter and found a 5p coin. Fingers crossed that's my problem solved.
@@PhyllisGlassup2TheBrim machines dont get rid of ALL water when they pump, theres always some left over and it sits and stinks and mildews and sludges eventually
Never washing a wire bra in the washer again. 😑 Thank you for the idea of feeling the tub holes for stuck items cuz that's how I felt the wire bra poking out. Bless you!
Happy to help Ashley! 😊 If you wanted some more top tips on looking after your washing machine, or buying a new one, get ya digital self over to our advice guide pages on our website: www.which.co.uk/reviews/washing-machines/article/guides
If you place your bras in a mesh zipper bag and wash them that way then hang dry, you won't ever run into any issues of losing your bra wires in the washer, instead they would be caught in the bag. That's a nice trick i learned from my beautiful recently late mom. She bought me the bag ♡. Now, a coin(s) caught under the drum and a lid that just won't unscrew on the filter to check the lint trap for previously said coin(s) is the reason i am here. I don't want to call for an expensive handyman to fix my problems for me, i want to fix it for free myself lol
What if you can't afford a repair bloke? What then My drum makes a grinding noise then sticks before freeing itself again. It doesn't grind then spinning. I suspect something stuck between the drum and the seal and need to fix it myself.
My washing machine start has the squeaking noise. Same thing happened to my last one after the repair man replaced a new motor. I called him back and he checked said no faulty, but I was not convinced! 😒
Question...my machine is struggling to spin. It tries moves a couple of inches then stops!! What could the problem be?? Its a samsung front load - thank u
Hi, question... I have exactly this washing machine and I lost a chain in my washing machine, could it be caught somewhere else than in the filter? I don't hear strange noises :(
My washer: When the wash cycle is complete and spin drains the wash water out, the drum comes to like a hard violent halt rather than a gradual stop. Does this again after the final spin. This abrupt stop forces the outter tub to over rotate and the pressure hose gets pulled off. What's up with that??? What's the fix?? Please help me out. I havnt seen a video anywhere yet that addresses this.
There is no opening in front of my Beko washing machine .. drum spins with strange noise, didn’t find anything inside or the grey rubber around the main door... pls help
hi I got 2 year old beko and all of sudden it started making loud noise on the spin cycle. do you think the bearings have gone. is there an error code I can check for this fault. please can you assist is it easy to establish what the fault might be
Hi, my LG Direct Drive all of a sudden has got very loud when spinning and the drum doesn't spin so easily by hand. It was at first very hard to spin by hand but now it's easier but not as easy as before the trouble started. Do you think we have problem with the bearings? Thank you so much. Love watching your videos!
Oh, after a further inspection I've noticed a gap between the drum and the body at the top of the drum! Does it mean one of the springs holding the drum has come off? Thank you very much.
I had a look inside and the springs are fine. It looks like it's the bearings!! So it means that I need to take the machine almost totally apart to get to the bearings. Can I still use it whilst it's noisy? It isn't terribly noisy and it doesn't bang or move across the floor. Oh, I wish so much you could help me!
@Manic Miner thank you so much for replying to my message. It was the bearing after all and due to lack of time I had to replace the washing machine. Got another LG on the same night and it was delivered in the morning. I still have the broken one as I don’t have the heart to scrap it as it’s such a good washing machine, it has available speed 1600rpm and the newer ones don’t have that anymore. I have to find someone who’d wasn’t to receive it as a gift and fix it. I think that was the core of the problem - too high speed for heavy, cotton loads which absorb a lot more water than any even partly synthetic items! That’s a lesson to learn for everyone who has a direct drive washing machine as there’s no belt to distribute the weight. I’m always very careful when choosing the speed at which it spins. Thank you.
@Manic Miner omg, I didn’t know that!!! This is same like the carbon brushes are often deliberately too small so they wear out in 14 months, just after the warranty has expired! Built in obsolescence was prevalent in white goods industry but a new law has been introduced to make this illegal. There’s specified number of years a washing machine for example should last and also it must be made in repair friendly way. I hope the manufacturers will comply with this new law. I’m in the UK. Thank you.
Thanks that was totally useful. You look like the bloke next door but speak like you’re public school educated.... it works Off to check my bra wire, thanks again
Ifb Washing machine making noise during only spin. If I removed water pump nobe then it's not making noise. It seems water pump is on after drain and during spin. After spin it is not making any noise
The only strange noise- noise of ANY kind in this video was an unfamiliar accent. Meta-noises are useless for identifying sounds- like a book about bird calls. Also the link is dead.
I am having trouble with my Euromaid Washing marching I live in Brisbane City and rang the no on my booklet for Brisbane I rang them and they did not answer my call they said I would have to pay them $145 dollars and the first 15 min would cover the call out fee than it would be $ 30 dollars every 15 min and I could not even get a answer in the valley I rang them two times and waited and waited no answer
yes after finding the bra wire between the tub and drum(from where the sound was coming-in my case it was in right side in my machine drum) i was thinking its impossible to take it out. but I took a normal metallic hair pin and opened its leg and make an L shape ( u can take a wire hanger of your wardrobe perhaps) and put in to the center of the curve of the bra wire and spin the drum with hands gently in order to move it. but in the first turn one head of the bra wire came out from a hole of one (out of three) of the projected plastic parts from its top (plez don’t think the wire will come out from steel drum, it will come out from one of the hole made on the top of projected grey plastic areas on the side walls of drum), which help to move the cloths in the drum while washing or spinning (some machines may have three or four. mine has 3)…total time which i spent was only 5 mints…feel lucky…when i found the wire in my hand, the shape was still curve from the front …but the same curve turned out like an S shape after scrapping, from side pose. it is perfect shape which help to take it out, and actually cause noise. insert L shape metallic pin through one of the whole into the center of the curve of bra wire. may be u can use two…depends upon the position of the curve to make it move between drum and tub. good luck.
Outside my building i have a laundry area. After i did a loss of laundry i was a coin inside the washers drum. It was an electrolux without a seal. So it couldnt go into the innerdrum or seal.
How dare you make a video with your bloodshot eye. I demand you be removed from youtube. And how dare you use that posh voice of yours to desecrate my gentle ears. The nerve of some people.
