My machine was making a whistling noise. Found out that my water inlet was bad, the cause was a clogged inlet valve caused by hard water. Replaced the valve and will clean the inlet valve each year to avoid the problem happening again. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for such a helpful video. I have never separated my whites and darks, btw. Are there inlet valve screen replacements available anywhere? I looked up my washer model on an appliance parts site and they aren't even listed on the parts list.

clogged filter will not cause hose to burst. Any time the water isn't filling the hoses are at the standard house pressure a clogged filter will not change this pressure.

YOU PUT THE FILTER IN BACKWARDS!!! This will dent the copper screen on the inside and make taking it out next time a pain.

Thank you for making this video. Following your instructions, my husband and I tackled our trickling cold water line. The filter was completely caked in mostly black sediment!! 😵 I was able to clean it off pretty easily with a nylon brush, so soaking wasn't necessary. And when my husband ran a load with nothing but cold water, the trickle was now a waterfall!! 🥳 As for sorting darks and lights, I'm more careful when washing my dark and bright colored cottons, particularly my darkest blue jeans. Even though they're 3 years old, they still transferred some dye to my new Christmas pj's. Oops!

I suggest you find the guy who spliced together your video and ask him to bring the narration audio track level back to normal. This is a very basic task when video editing.

Volume did seem low but could hear. What to do if the inlet has no screen but does have mineral build up.

I had to turn it up because you were talking quietly and then your Channel turn music on really loud and I had to run away from my that I was watching your channel on RU-vid well I was trying to fix the washer and watch my daughter at the same time starts bouncing back and forth. You forgot to look inside , there a fixed screen in there also ..and turn the one around you just put in backwards.

My machine has no pull out filter; instead it is a mesh screen going into the washer. It was dirty with sand and to clean it since I could. Or remove it was a pipe cleaner folded over itself a few times. This allowed me to scrape the mesh without damaging it and cleaning it well. Qtips just get cotton on the mesh and cause more of a problem. Hope this helps with the filters that cannot be removed

You said clogging inlet screen can cause hose to pop. So instead of placing screen between connection and machine - why not place it between spigot and and connection?

The volume was so low that I cranked it all the way up and put on my headphones to hear. Then the music portion came on extremely loud and legit gave me a headache from the loud blast of sound in my ears. As good as the info was, the sound issue makes me wish I hadn’t watched

Tom the Plumber- I'll give you another try a while from now but not now- I had to crank my volume ALL THE WAY UP and still could hardly hear you. THEN THE OPENING MUSIC NEARLY BLEW MY SPEAKERS AND MY EAR DRUMS! I can tell it is your camera person who is moving in and out that is changing the volume, but really- please fix this. I'll replace my thumbs down with thumbs up if you do. Please man. UPDATE- I needed the info so I'm listening with one hand on the mute button. At about 2:15, still on max volume, your voice is much easier to hear. Then the revving of the engine blasts me again. I won't update more, but I am watching till the end. Please, run through this video again and see if you can fix the volume. Much appreciated. Oh also, at 5:42 you put the cold filter in backwards- the little handle is now on the inside so you can't grab it 😞

Your volume levels fluctuate wildly. Had a difficult time hearing you.

This unfortunately won't work anymore... Whirlpool in their infinite wisdom has changed the inlet valve filter design such that there's no longer any appreciable tab on the filter screen to grab and extract it from the valve.... This forces you to charge your customer an additional ~$70.00 for a completely new inlet valve assembly...

Be sure to put the filter back in the opposite way as he did. He put it back in backwards and decided to pass that on to everyone else to do the same. First time here but I won’t be watching anymore of his videos and run the risk of getting shown how to do something wrong.
