I head into Washington to check out a Fire Lookout and do some cooking. / forestyforest Merchandise: foresty-forests-store.creator... Summit Map: drive.google.com/open?id=12GF... / strava / forestyforest
Hi Simon. Don't worry or feel pressured about going big on the summits. Most of just like watching your day to day stuff, hiking, cooking, sewing.... and of course Rocko!
Another great video Foresty! I almost fell off my chair when I saw the title. I was the Red Mt. fire lookout in the summer of 1995. I have lots of pictures from my time there but no video, so was great to see that view again. I was a dirt poor volunteer traveling around the country for the first time, and it was one of the best summers of my life. We rehabbed the lookout that year, new stove, bed, fridge, paint, railings, etc. Glad to see it's still standing. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Only Simon would call this a simple video. It was a visual feast! Those drone shots & views up top at the station were incredible, all of it. Sweet Rocko climbing those steps was really something 👏.
Reason the inside metal roof of your van is getting wet is not from interior condensation. Look up cold bridging or thermal transfer. I live about 1.5 hours north of Red mountain up by Mt Rainier and I can tell you it happens ~100-150 nights a year here. RV companies have been trying to fight it since forever and I maybe found one that actually has but I'll know in a couple more weeks when I pick it up. All my metal roofs drip soon as it thaws each morning leaving anything under a metal roof almost as wet as if you left it outside. I use tyvek before putting the metal roofs down to help with the drips. The van's I have lived in have done the same as you are describing. I got rid of a shipping container I had here due to that same issue. It became a cold moldy mess. What I'm having build now for my truck is all fiberglass, not a nut, bolt, piece of metal or wood, just glue and foam and fiberglass because of this very issue in these parts...Head south where it's no longer an issue and when you are coming back thru I have a shed with three sets of washers and dryers with a hot tub right outside. I think I can beat Hood River..
I’ll say it again. Someone should work with you to use your drone footage for a movie or planetarium presentation. Your footage is the best I’ve every seen. Thanks from Boston.
Welcome back to the USA, Foresty and Rocko! I guess that this is Rocko's first time in the lower 48 states, although she did visit the US on your recent trip to Alaska. The drone footage from the Red Mountain Lookout of Ranier, Hood, St. Helen's, Adams and Jefferson is breathtaking. Those amazing mountains peaking up above the clouds is stunning. Thanks for sharing these beautiful panoramic vistas with us!
I been watching for what feels like YEARS, I live in western washington. If you have the opportunity to check out greenwater off of forest road 70 you will not be disappointed. Been camping there all my life. And if I ever see you in my pizza shop, it's on me 😂
FORESTY!! The Texas gulf coast is cool now! No snow! I am in Rockport/ Fulton headed to Gilead and Victoria next. Wintering in my van along the gulf. Come join me! Texas is very van friendly.
In French we say, "plus rien à dire." which, loosely translated, means, nothing to add. Or, too beautiful for words. I went once to Washington state. My goal was to get a great view of Rainier. Done! But you got it from up top, with the bonus of the super celebrated surroundings peaks. Bravo!
Be still my heart! 🏔 I haven’t seen that panorama in forever Forest. Thank you for visiting my state. Sorry we didn’t hVe a warmer welcome for you. Please come back soon. Saving this video. Another great job Forest.
I think a timelapse of Rocko in the van alone as you're out shopping/showering/etc. would be nice now that she's not so nuts any more to have to go in the cage.
Hi Adam, I got one of those ninja foodies. because of this channel. you can take a pork chop frozen hard as a rock put it in on pressure cooker function for 10 minutes then switch to air crisper for about 15 minutes. results a near perfect chop from frozen in 25 minutes or so. I miss the old crock pot but hey it has a slow cook function as well. I thank Simon almost every day for the suggestion. ☮
Born and raised in Washington, you did us justice with the view of the mountains. Your recipe looks like a winner, I'll have to give it a try. Great video.
I know I know that Ninja air is your current favorite...... But, to many of us, you are always the Foresty forest with the crock pot! We all missed your crock pot that started it all.....
Simple video my foot! The views were spectacular! Watching Rocko go up those stairs was absolutely adorable. As far as doing away with my morning coffee, never! It's the only way I can get my morning meds down and not taste them, lol. Having a handful of life saving meds every morning isn't so bad, it's just the taste of them that the coffee covers up. Tried just the 8 ounce glass of water to start my day and yes it gives you much more steady energy than coffee, but I can't stomach the taste of the meds I have to take to stay alive so coffee and water in the morning are my choice. Love your videos.
Might have been a quick summit, but that scenery was surreal, with the peaks of the mountains poking up through the fog. I actually took a screen shot during your drone footage, to put in my screensaver folder. Funny you should mention caffeine - I've been pushing back my own consumption, hopefully to give it up fully soon.
I actually really enjoyed the "simplicity" of this one... Yeah I love this channel because you climb epic shit, but it's also nice to see you driving, cooking, doing laundry, etc. as it helps me feel immersed in the lifestyle
Love the footage! Your video scenery always rocks. I was a coffee addict for a long time. I have been clean for over ten years. What the body needs when you wake is water. I drink a liter of room temperature water every morning. It is the best way to jump start your system. I also drink various green teas, usually only twice in the early hours of the day. It is truly amazing how even your stamina levels become when you give up processed sugar. Proper hydration and nutrition are key to a long healthy life. Keep up the good work. Be well.
Yea! The best notification is a new Foresty video! Got to comment something to be the first for once. I have watched every single video ever posted by you. Good luck and stay safe! Greetings from Finland!
Some of the best shots ever from the mountain top! Had a memorable laundromat experience once in Lisbon. There was no soap dispenser in the laundromat - ?? - so I started walking around looking for a store that sold smallish soap packets…anything suitable. Couldn't find anything of course, so I figured I'd just have to wash with water - better than nothing. It turned out the machine injected soap automatically once it had started…what a concept.
5 star laundromat reviews. What more could you ask for. I was equally impressed by using 💳 on the machines. Man on moon but no coins for the machine has finally been defeated.
Hey Foresty forest that was an awesome video. What a view of seeing all those other mountains wow you and Rocco are amazing. You guys always make my day. Thanks for taking us along I look forward to your next adventure. Stay safe and stay warm.🇺🇸♥️👍✌️🙂🏔️🐾🚐🇨🇦
