Washington Voices Concerns About India’s Growing Ties with Russia Amid Ongoing Ukraine War 

On July 8, a US State Department spokesperson revealed that the United States has raised concerns with India regarding its relationship with Russia amid the ongoing invasion of Ukraine. This statement came in response to inquiries about a recent meeting between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to the Kremlin, Putin held face-to-face talks with Modi in Moscow on Monday. Modi is set to arrive in the Russian capital later in the day for a two-day state visit. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced during a news briefing that Putin and Modi would meet informally in the evening, allowing them to discuss matters freely in a one-on-one setting.
A senior Indian official mentioned last week that Modi's top priorities in Moscow would include addressing India's trade imbalance with Russia and securing the release of Indian citizens who were misled into participating in the Ukraine conflict.
