The Finals MVP should be named after Michael Jordan. The man never lost in the NBA Finals and won 6 Finals MVPs. Sure Bill Russell has 11 rings in 12 Finals he played during his 13yr career. But the man never won Finals MVP. He's 0 for 1 in that category b/c Jerry West had to beat the Celtics in something
@@sweetmapleleafsI agree. The Finals MVP should be named after Jordan and the regular season MVP should be named after Bill Russell. The reason they named the Finals MVP after Russell is because he used to hand out the Finals MVP trophy the last few years before his death.
I remember being 6 yrs old and seeing this game it was electric to see MJ back in the UC. Also that was the last time i saw a bulls game live whoo what a time that was.
The Chicago fans can't help but cheer MJ the GOAT. He gave Chicago 6 Championships and MJ was heart and soul of those teams in Chicago. I wish MJ never retired after 6th Championships. He was still the greatest in 1998. He could have picked another team that was primed to win a championship. He comes back at 38. Left at 34. Could have seen him and Scotty and Clyde Drexler. There is the Triangle..MJ threw away atleast 5 or 6 years He could have played.. I wish he would have done that comeback Michael Jordan at 50 could have still played. Not a starter. He could give you 20 minutes a night. Breaking it down that's only 5 minutes a quarter. I bet at 50 he would get Charged up and score 40 points one night next game you have he has to play very little..
Another similar scenario happened when Patrick Ewing was coached by a former teammate in Doc Rivers that season for the Orlando Magic too. This was a time when teams often hired former recent players as coaches, which Larry Bird started that trend with for the Pacers in 97 as well.
Ron Mercer, Kevin Ollie, Brad Miller, Ron Artest, Charles Oakley.......this is the team Jerry Krause was so anxious to build that he chased Phil Jackson and Michael Jordan out of town. :(
I remember hearing a lot of the top free agents refused to go to Chicago for years because of '98. Kevin Garnett definitely outright said in the media he would never play for the Bulls
Michael Jordan played forward on the Wizards? I guess i could see that since Jordan wasn't a great perimeter shooter and no longer had the same athleticism. He was just a mid-range jumpshooter by the early 2000s.
In the 90s and early 00s your starting center could be only 3 inches taller than your starting 2 guard cause the game was still about toughness. You didn’t have to be victor wembanyama, what a time.
I was at that game, and the amount of boos sounded twice as loud in the UC when they cut off Jordan's ovation. Nobody went there that day to see that trash Bulls team. Nobody. Krause and Reinsdorf were a-holes for doing that BS.
Ray Clay the OG announcer was fired for wanting to announce MJ correctly cus Krause didnt want to give him his flowers. Bulls management wanted nothing to do with Jordan or acknowledge him after he left.
I can't believe the announcer just soft spoken MJ name in the intro. Wtf! But at least the people of Chicago knows how to give gratitude to a person who help to put them in the map of sports.
I cant believe the wizards started popeye jones and jahidi white probably one of the worst big men starting duo in history poor MJ didnt have much to work with
Yeah, and especially when he drafted Kwame Brown first overall in 2001, which was a huge blunder. The Wiz also had Richard Hamilton that season, but dealt him for Jerry Stackhouse, which was another bad move for them too.
When Michael Jordan joined the wizards he couldn’t make them champions that just proves that it was the players that the Chicago Bulls had made them champions you can’t just have 1 great player you need all of them to be great and the Chicago Bulls has the best players at that time when you see the starting line up of the Bulls that shows how they were the best and they were all needed
@@alonsoherrera5225 it doesn’t matter it’s the team Lebron can’t make anyone champion unless he has a great team just cause Michael Jordan was the best player doesn’t mean he can defeat 5 other players 1 on 5 alone he needed Scottie Pippen Denis Rodman those other 2 players is what Michael Jordan win that’s why you’ll see their pictures on posters magazines but Michael Jordan alone there will be no championship for him alone sorry did you see Scottie Pippen Denis Rodman in wizards with Michael Jordan cause they weren’t
@@alonsoherrera5225 Stop being silly like you don’t understand it wasn’t Jordan alone who made the bulls champion if he was the reason then why couldn’t he make the Wizards champion he’s no super basketball player taken on 5 other players alone it just doesn’t work that way this isn’t WWE UFC you face 1 on 1 this is a 5 vs 5 maybe if Jordan was facing 1 on 1 that would a complete different story today Lebron James would be the champion on NBA but it doesn’t work that way you can’t win even if your the greatest player Michael Jordan wouldn’t of scored anything if he was facing 5 players all by himself so think again
How crazy this song in the post Jordan era doesn’t even give anyone goosebumps or fear since MJ and the bulls got dismantled! They should have done everyone a favor and retired this intro! No one feared that bulls team they introduced! I’m mad and not even a bulls fan… warriors fan here!!
