Redneck Archaeologist, Jackson Burns, searches for the location of the Washita Massacre that General Sheridan ordered and Custer instigated where old men, women and children were killed
Somewhere in The Sacred WASHITA River, where an old dock was located, a 5 year old girl was with playing dirt, making cannon balls... She was there because her grandpa heard that The RODEO arrived, and it was the only time that she saw her grandma smile... The little girl has never seen a RODEO, or heard music before. Since, there was no radio or TV at home, papa was a soldier in Germany, and mother wasnt living with her anymore, but... Suddenly, she heard music, and the skies were gorgeous and beautiful. A golden stair came down to Earth from heaven. A man walked down the stairs and over the Washita River waters and approached the little girl. She was told to never talk to strangers, but this "cowboy" was different. He was dressed in white robes and wearing a golden belt, also he squated next to her, asking her: "Are you the RODEO"... The man kindly laughted, and asked her: "What are you doing here in the Washita River" she answered: "Im playing with dirt..." he gladly said: "I also LOVE to shape clay" And then HE hugged the little girl, and told her: "YOU WOULD NOT BE ALONE NEVER AGAIN" -"What is your name, Mister?" -"You can call me your FRIEND" *** The 5 year old girl declined to tell anyone her experience, SHE NEVER FELT ALONE... She is now, Dr Clarice Fluitt, a preacher of The Gospel of Jesus christ. wgt
I never hear anyone mention why they attacked. These people were holding a woman and her children taken in a raid in N. Texas. His stated mission was to "rescue" them, but knowing that their mere presence in the encampment would have been proof that they were the ones responsible for the Texas raid, negotiating was impossible and would have only ensured the woman's murder. In the end, it didn't matter for they were murdered as soon as the rescue began. When the battle had concluded, the entire 7th calvary was marched by those people's bodies as a witness to what the indians had done. I personally detest George Custer, but to say that the whole affair was an unprovoked slaughter, is a lie.
Hi! Nice video! How many Indians were killed on that morning and how many of them were men, women or children, has been much debated. Accounts vary wildly. The official number is Custer's report that 103 "bucks" were killed (he admits to dead women and children as well but gives no number). That figure was, however not based on a body count on the battlefield but only guessed at on the second evening after the attack on the march back to camp Supply when Custer assembled the officers in his tent and had each officer report how many dead Indians he had seen. Cpt. Geoffrey claimed that "every effort had been made to avoid duplications" but how that should have been done he didn't state. Benteen noted privately that all these officers had seen the same dead Indians. Various Indian survivors stated only a fraction of the claimed body count with 11-13 men and 17-25 women and children. Those survivor terstimonies which give numbers of killed women and children at all (some just say "many") state between 31 and 38 Indians killed. That was enough, though to destroy Black Kettle's band and his village forever. It ceased to exist. With him and Little Robe dead, most Appeasement politicians among he Cheyennes had been massacred by the Army.
It was a battle between combatants while some non combatants were caught between these forces the objectives were the warriors. The number killed came from GAC and is considered wildly exaggerated
At one point Custer and Sheridan claimed as much as 300 warriors killed when in reality only 13 were killed , warriors that is , any others killed were women and children.
fake again ! "only" 18 women and children were killed ! the others were warriors ! they had some white prisonners, women, children... they were very cruel ! they tortured, killed, scalped even 2 years old ! they were selling women and children to mexicans to "work" in borthels !..........
They were both massacres the reason why the washita is called a battle Is because the government money that’s put up for the museum by the river requires it to be called a battle for unknown reasons
***** Only uneducated morons use Wikipedia as a source, and only uneducated morons deny well known human atrocities. Do you spend the rest of your time denying slavery and the holocaust? What a sad little life you must lead.
AllTime Warrior Go troll somewhere else kid... Of course in most battles there is collateral damage; hence some women and children were killed at Washita River. Learn about the battle before you betray your ignorance with pithy posts. Custer arranged a truce during the battle by taking women and children hostage, and thus actually saved lives. he is not noted as personally killing any women or children in that battle or any other battle for that matter. The only dumb fuck obviously resides in the reflection in your mirror!
AllTime Warrior ALL TIME FUCKING IDIOT! Proclaiming shit you know little if anything about. learn to read, write and acquire an education child!!!!!!!!!!
That is definately not the Washita River near Cheyenne. It may be the Washita further downstream. You look like a fool trying to convince people otherwise.
which massacre ??? the soldiers didn't kill civilian in purpose, it was some "mistake" in battle confusion. But it's true that some indians , who were Custer's allied (scouts), began to kill some women and children ! the blue soldiers stopped them, even if it was a revenge for them. The battle that is represented in "little big man" movie is a biiiiiig lie !
Sir, you are ignorant about the history of this battle, you speak with a false tongue. Custer gave strict orders not to kill women and children, it is true some were killed, many more taken prisoner, at least they did not bomb a hospital or a wedding party like is done today and that seems alright with most people today in the USA. The Natives had white women as prisoners in that village, and they killed them when the 7th drove into the village, the natives killed the white female hostages in cold blood. Also this is the only time that Custer may have killed a Native, while he was charging through the village he dispatched a native warrior pulling up on him. All war is ugly, war among people of different races is usually extreme ugliness. The mistreatment of the American native needs to be placed where it belongs, on the Gov. of Washington DC, not the lowly troops in the field following orders. I support the Natives, but not to the point of telling lies to distort history. I do not support the murder of the white captive females.
