I bought the whole shebang. Both hoses, everything! It is the most unpleasant part of this whole life style and from everything I've read, what makes it unpleasant is the chronic component failure. Ie, hoses and connections. The stuff is expensive but worth every penny if it saves me from taking a crap bath at some dump station. Compared to the rediculous hose I was supplied with at the dealership, it's like night and day. Thanks for the review and the recommendation. See ya out there. Neil

Hi Ray, nice video on the new Waste Master hose. I like the design and concept, the clear windows is real nice to see if you have clear fluid after flush. Only one thing I wish you had shown us is how well it may coil up. I use a large flexible bucket to store my hose in, not sure this would work the same. Thanks for taking the time to share!

Of course you got it for free so price is not a concern, but to give it such a glowing review when it doesn't do anything much more than a good Rino hose that has a clear adapter and rubber gasket on the right angle end! As I view it gluing that large "cam" fitting may not be possible on many Class "C" homes that have a sewage compartment that is enclosed! I will stick to my setup with a five foot, ten foot and twenty foot hoses that I can attach as needed to fit to any situation.

Here is an update to the review - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Oigk2WHnrVs.html I ended up modding things so it can be always attached and stored right where I use it. I no longer need to disconnect it. www.loveyourrv.com/ultimate-rv-sewer-system-modification/ I've had the setup almost 4 years now and love it. RV companies should get on the ball and offer a similar option rather than messing around disconnecting and washing out and storing a sewer hose. Maybe I'll make a video showing how easy dumping is now. Cheers, Ray

An excellent product, and a great review by you. I agree with your plus and minus observations. We will stick with our current system, though, until we can change over to a composting toilet. Getting rid of having to use a black tank will give us an extra 30 gallons of grey tankage. That is where we need it the most, anyway. Thanks for the great job you did on this. By the way, four months on Vancouver Island sounds very wonderful right now, as we head into another brutal Texas Summer here in Dallas. Rock On

The whole "system" is the Drain Master System which includes the hose, Cam lock assembly, and hose storage cabinet that mounts under your trailer. I installed the whole system on my new Keystone Premier Travel Trailer myself in about 2 hours, rerouting the rear grey tank to connect with the front black & grey tank valves. I will never have to deal with moving waste hoses from multiple tank drain connections ever again! When you finish draining all your tanks from one outlet, you push the hose back into the cabinet, close the door and you're done. Worth every penny!

I drove fuel tanker trucks and they all use the camlock system. You dont want gas or diesel leaking. The price is high ($125) but the first time the bayonet type leaks all over, you'll wish you had camlocks! I would think the old slinky support would still be usable for those weekend trips.

Its been a great hose, still working well after 5 years of full-time RVing. A little while after I first got it I modded my sewer system and installed a storage box for it right at the output, now I don't have to take it off, just leave it connected all the time. Has worked out great since we often dry camp and use dump stations along the way - here is a demo of it in action www.loveyourrv.com/quick-rv-waste-tank-dump/

Ray, or anyone comment on how it is holding up? Amazon reviews are only at 67% lots of people saying the hose separates and comes apart quite easily. A common theme is heat damaging the hose. We are in hot California and having second thoughts on this upgrade.
@LoveYourRV
@LoveYourRV 4 года назад
Been using it full time for 5 years now, no issues. 6 months it's out all the time and the other 6 it's used at dump stations. I don't camp in very hot temps though, summers in BC average in the 70-80s. Here was a video from last year - www.loveyourrv.com/quick-rv-waste-tank-dump/ Here the website of the manufacture - drainmaster.com/rv/ They are based in Hollister California, so you would think it could handle the California heat. Thanks Ray, the cam lock makes a lot of sense. My son drives a tanker truck and they use cam lock hoses, it's about time we have it for our RVs. My only concern, like you mentioned is where the heck to store the hose with that massive 90° elbow since it does not disconnect from the hose.

@jeromep

The folks over at nofreezewaterhose.com have a bayonet to cam lock adapter for sale. Looks substantial, and they even mention Lippert Components in their material. While I like the Lippert Components use of the cam lock, I dislike their insistence that we modify our existing bayonet connection permanently to move to the cam lock fitting. Sure, Lippert sells a cam lock to bayonet adapter, but Aside from Lippert's hose, and the heated sewer hose at nofreezewaterhose.com, I know of no other RV accessory suppliers who have jumped on the cam lock bandwagon. The only way I see cam locks becoming commonplace for RV sewer management is if a major manufacturer starts putting cam lock sewer fittings on RVs as they go out the door, and supply those new RVs with a cam lock sewer hose and get an RV accessories maker to start making cam lock sewer hoses available at retail. I've also seen some videos and comments online which indicate that the hose material in the Waste Master isn't quite up to being set out in the sun for days on end for even a few camping seasons as it breaks down and gets pinholes easily. While the Waste Mater connections are probably the best in the business, the hose material might not be.
@cowboyup545
@cowboyup545 3 года назад
@@jeromep You are so correct, I can't even find out if I cut off the little nubs on my MH how much of the cam lock needs to go over the MH pipe. I only have about 1 1/8 of an inch in lenth to attach the cam lock because of the configuration of my plumping, They have this 5 foot bayonet extention that would hook up then you have to buy the two female to attach the hoses. That amounts to another 160.00 dollar plus the waste master system so about $ 290 to $300. NO THANKS.
@jeromep
@jeromep 3 года назад
@@cowboyup545 My service compartment on my MH doesn't even have enough clearance for me to put a Camco Rhino Blaster or Rhino Blaster Pro on the sewer outlet, let alone modifying the existing bayonet connector to support a permanently glued on cam lock connector. Looking at the bayonet to cam lock adapter from No Freeze Water Hose indicates to me that I couldn't even do a twist-on adapter to support cam lock sewer hoses. I guess I'll be stuck with old tech, however I've never had an issue with bayonet connectors and sewer dumping. I always choose a connector which has four pin locking and I don't use my hose for more than a couple of seasons before letting it go. They don't last forever and they aren't that expensive to replace. I think my last hose kit cost me $45, and that was for a name brand higher end hose. For the cost of the Lippert system along with any adapters, you can buy a lot of average to excellent quality sewer hoses. If the seal on the hose end of the bayonet connector starts to degrade, you can replace it as replacement seals can easily be found online and at a lot of places that sell camping stuff. I've never had the bayonet seal ever go bad before the sewer hose itself was shot.

I really like it, having the valve on the head end is very handy, good flow and the hose inside stays clean since it's smooth. Love how easy it is to expand and compress. so far it's proved to be durable. I've just finished installing a storage box for it in such a way that now I never have to disconnect the hose, just pull it out and dump and put it back. - www.loveyourrv.com/ultimate-rv-sewer-system-modification/ The only issue I've had at some dump stations they have that flip up metal flap and the head won't fit in the hole so I have to use a short piece of old style hose. Put it in the hole then the Waste master in the other end. Cheers Ray

Hey Ray! We just bought our first RV, a Grand Design Imagine 2670MK. We are really excited for the spring and spending money like crazy getting outfitted. I have learned a lot from your videos. You are likely a leading expert on Sewer Hoses (among most things RV). I purchased a Waste Master and 20 foot extension. Was wondering if you could answer a question or two: Would it work to normally bayonet fit a Camco Dual Flush Gate Valve to my RV, then permanently retrofit the gate valve to my Waste Master cam? Then I would have this valve always at the end of my line, could take the valve off if I needed to connect something fitted for bayonet, and I then, after dumping, could back-flush my black and gray water tanks and then flush my Waste Master hose after back flushing my tanks? Or am I trying to do too much? Thanks, Ray and happy trails!

Great job on the review. What were they thinking designing a waste removal system and require you to cut off your existing bayonet setup? They should at least have an adapter that would hook right on to your bayonet, so you don't have to monkey around at the Hardware store to get the product to work. Would be easy to design in a clamp setup at the 90 degree so that's removable. I do like the solid rubber fitting cam lock, that's the best part of the system. Flow system is too much futzing around, so that's not worth bothering with. I looked up the pricing and with the adapters right around $275! Honestly Ray, would you have bought that setup? LOL
@LoveYourRV
@LoveYourRV 9 лет назад
NWHiker Thanks. :) I almost bought the main hose in Quartzsite at the RV show, they had a booth there. But having to spend the extra for the extension and bayonet adapter was a little more than I could afford at the time. I had just spent $400 on solar, $260 on new batteries, $180 on the Fantastic fan and 200 bucks on roof sealing materials. Would have been a tough sell to the wife. ;)

ECRVS Videos That's why I have the cam-lock to bayonet adapter. I then can still use all my gadgets and original hoses anytime I want to.

Bought one and the very first time I stretched it out to use the seams split in 2 spots. Inner material is extremely thin and the unit did not appear to be well manufactured at all. Would not recommend it.

Give Drainmaster a call they have a toll free #, ask for Doug, he is the inventor. I'm sure he would like to know about this. drainmaster.com/main/ Ray
