with the butt section or first couple of sections spotting the underside of the boom is pointless unless you crane operator asks or he cant see out of his eyes

I wish you very much succes , booming down on prefab concrete beam with floor plates on it , I know for sure that you will hit the floor plates . But seeing space between boom en beam

Until you know the operator well enough I would never assume they know what they're doing or even paying attention, at the very least make sure they can see what you're talking about. When it goes to sh!t the dogman will cop it for luffing the operator into the structure.
