You’re only as good as your worst rigger out there. If we listened to green riggers all the time we would have done our tickets long ago. Gentle words of advice. Then if that doesn’t work not so gentle.

When lifting 40ft sea containers off semi trailers, multiple factors can play part, causing uncontrolled movement. . The Semi can be on a slope or the sea container may be loaded more at one end. Each situation may create load swing on one end. This can be unavoidable so slow movements up and watch where the load cracks first. This can help determine where the load may swing.
I have always been taught to go directly below the top sheave and then skip after to get your four wraps. I didn’t think it was good for the sheaves to pull from the outside over to number two.
Trainer and assessor for HRWL here. Every day just trying to be that person I needed when I was starting out in the game, instead of just getting yelled at and demeaned. Just be supportive of the new guys and girls- it'll come back to you in spades. And yeah, as Del said, give them the chance to see their mistakes and some feedback to improve. ✌️
