Same thing happened to me, saw them on the 29th. I used to believe that they were overrated, but after smelling death on them and Erik going all out on stage, they deserve their good recognition. Plus, I met Erik and he was genuinely nice. Who would have thought? Hail Watain|m/
@Atrumus Generally Watain and Dissection share the same ideology. The only thing that separates them are their musical composition techniques. Other than that they're quite bonded. Member wise too.
I can picture these guys after the show, piling backstage, showering; changed into their savile row pinstripes, sitting down and having a cup of earl grey and some cucumber fucking sarnies.
@xeri3 Why do you compare them ? It's not even the same kind of music. Watain is a pure classical black metal band, Dissection was something very unique.

@Lynk1992 nah, aussie shows are pretty good, crowds are always really good, but the sound does tend to be pretty shit, but the overall atmosphere at every show is always really good

But yea its not something I fully agree with. I am my own god, plain and simple, love their music and I still get plenty out of it though. :P

Fernando Maldonado Watain is my favorite, Dissection is my all-time number 2. Really, it's a subjective matter. For some, Watain have has touched them on a deeper level. Others, Dissection. It doesn't have to be a competition
