An extraordinary man...never lost his charisma or his looks...he was here in Dublin shortly before he died and despite attracting a crowd of admirers he made sure he shook hands with everyone. a real gentleman.

I wrote down the "Democracy starts with education....." quote for my bulletin board. He is a brilliant man, and I admire him.

One of the few cultivated Egyptians who belong to an era that will never come back. It is hard to find individuals like him these days in that part of the world unfortunately. The man had elegance, eloquence, class, language that are above that of the average person anywhere on the planet.

I love the fact that he is so educated, elegant and smart.

Farewell, Omar Sharif! What an honest, straight-forward, charismatic, and compassionate human being..... not many actors or celebrities are like that any more!!

RIP Omar Sharif. Such an incredibly gifted, beautiful, intelligent man. He was so insightful & so fully knowledgeable about himself and the world around him. He spoke six languages fluently and received his degree in math and physics. Always soft spoken yet he always clearly elucidated his thoughts and ideas. And those eyes, he was able to speak volumes with his eyes. I could only see him whenever he was on the screen - everything else faded into the background. It's so sad that he was addicted to gambling. I believe that robbed him of true happiness......he was a person who most certainly deserved to be happy.

I believe in everything and I believe in nothing. Legends would never be reborn. R.I.P Mr. Omar Sharif. ( A legend ).

I can't remember who or when and I regret that but Omar Sharif had one of the best appearances on a late night show years ago. It was like a cool, wise, sharp, fun, intelligent, vibrant grandpapa talking to you. He was so full of life and wisdom.

He was a very great man and I love all the movies he was in. He was very well educated and had the right mindset on life as well as in politics. Very great man indeed.

He also played the role of an Armenian prince in the "Fall of the Roman Empire" (Gladiator took a lot from that film); his role was based on a true character from antiquity, King Tiridates II of Armenia; there is a monument in Rome commemorating the treaty between Rome, Armenia, and Germania around A.D 175 in the reign of Marcus Aurelius...

The late Omar Sharif had an abundance of charm and charisma in addition to being incredibly handsome, gifted and talented.His passions and personal interests were known to his inner circle and when his son Tariq married and settled in Montréal, he had a new sense of happiness and personal awakening which resulted in spiritual contentment.The best way I could humbly express the essence of the sublime actor Omar Sharif is " bon vivant ".I now understand the deep connection between my beloved, first husband, Samir Shafik and Omar Sharif. Blessings to the two Renaissance men who undoubtedly have a special faith based destination.
