I have a 2006 Honda Accord I still have it with 180,000 miles . Trading it for another Honda Accord 2011 with 35,000 miles on it. Love the Accord because is dependable and handling is good. My 2006 never left me stranded on the road and I live in the east coast with all 4 seasons so cars take a beating with winter salts. But engine just keeps going. Best investment ever made in terms of all my previous cars which only lasted 5 years . Had it for 16 years and don't regret having it as long as is just regular maintenance car is an amazing piece of engineering. 👍

The K20 Vtec Engine is a Gem! I have a 2007 Honda Accord EXL. it's so much fun to drive, as that engine gets up and goes. It's got the Hydraulic steering instead of the new electric steering, which gives you no road feel. With the Hydraulic steering you can feel the road. I'll never sell it. I'm going to restore it.
We drove 2 Honda Accords up and down the east coast for 12 years. Both Accords drove extremely well and I had no problem finding buyers when we moved again. Good reliable car!

The depreciation may be changing but it's also a sedan in an SUV/CUV world of buyers. I still like sedans and I've been shopping them around. They may not sell the most but it's hard to beat how excellent a car this is in so many regards, especially at the price point.
I had a 1986 Accord LX for 11 years and it was one of the BEST cars I have ever owned. But I still have my 1998 Camry LE with only 141K miles on it and I want to keep it for as long as possible. I bought it new in October 1997 and it is the BEST car I have ever owned! And on this new Accord, I HATE that push button shifter but like just about everything else other than the prices for the car.
The hybrid is probably the best option. It's power train has better performance than the 1.5T and the fuel savings are prodigious. The 2.0T would best be paired with AWD to get the most of the power it offers but Honda doesn't offer it. Too bad.
I hope they fix that in the next gen because I really like the accords otherwise (the touring ones are very luxurious in my opinion) but the road noise cheapens out the experience. I bought a Passat a few years ago instead which I like but I would have rather paid the premium for the Honda if it didn’t have the road noise.
the accords had recalls in 2019, 2020, then in 2021 & 2022 there were no recalls as Honda fixed those issues anyway that’s my theory I love the Accords such reliable cars.

Jon, I was told by Honda that most of the cars they sold were four cylinders and thus, the V6 was no longer profitable for them to continue making that size engine, even though it had more power than the 4.
@@cactusjack1943 I test-drove a Civic with a turbo several years ago and the engine definitely had a lot of power. However, not sure if my next car that I buy someday will have one or not for various reasons.
Have the 2020 Accord EX-L. 1.5 l turbo. Has plenty of power. Handles great. Roomy. Test drove the 2.0, nice, but not worth the extra money...plus I don't really push the rpms that much. Only negative is an occasional light vibration at low rpm when accelerating can't locate the rattle. Did buy the 8 year extended warranty.
How’s it handle dirt roads. I live in New England and have been looking at Honda accord 2.0 t sport. But the wheels are scaring me off. Don’t want to be going through tires every month
The issue is the they have removed the traditional gear shifter and added a CVT. Customers want to hear and feel the shift shock. The gear lever is sometimes used to rest your palm/wrist

The hybrid is not a CVT. My current car (a 2015 civic) has a CVT, and I like it better than a traditional automatic. I'm not sure why some of you don't like CVTs, but I like not having a periodic loss of power when the car shifts to a higher gear. I just put in my order for a 2022 Accord Hybrid EX-L a couple weeks ago, and the uninterrupted power delivery definitely wasn't a turn off for me.
reasons: the 2.4 high revving engine with the 7200 redline was the apex. 1.5 has had bad press for oil dilution. nissan's cvt ruined cvt reputation for everybody. the 2.0 liter with the ten speed auto makes the 1.5 even less desirable. i'll drive my 2.4 exl 2008 into the ground before i pony up for today's turbos.
Well I just bought a 2022 Honda Accord new last week and I looked at the Camrys. I've been a Toyota person. I just don't feel as comfortable. I really like the accord and I didn't think I was going to buy one but we wound up leaving with one so
A couple of reasons... first is they don't make them in 2 door anymore... the screen is not integrated into the dash anymore so it looks like a tablet stuck to the dash instead... also the body style is very similar to a Malibu.... sticker price is probably the other thing.... I currently own a 2013 Accord and absolutely love it.
Our(Edmund's)2018 Honda Accord EX-L stickered for $30,865, including destination. Over the course of a year, we added 13,302 miles to our odometer. In this condition, the Edmunds TMV Calculator valued the Accord at $23,815 based on a private-party sale. That works out to 22.8% depreciation, which is slightly worse than the fleet average of 22% average. The depreciation level is even worse when you consider that the majority of our cars pass the 20,000-mile mark. Edmund's longterm Accord

I bought my 2021 accord SE for 36k. wrecked it after 15 months with 16k miles on it unfortunately. Just got insurance pay out of 35.8k and bought a brand new 2022 for 36.5k
@@coreygallagher7636 the prices on used is similar to new and has been for over a year. Most people make money selling any used car today. Though if you paid $36k for a Honda you paid too much!
I think the market is so spoiled on SUVs that nobody wants to really have a sedan anymore. Especially with older buyers who don't have particularly good es and just want a comfortable car to get in and out of. So as the prices of vehicles go up less and less people can afford it and your buyers are coming older with the Accord because that price keeps going up. Therefore you have buyers that go to SUVs as opposed to buy us a sedan.
You should look into voice over work. My buddy does it, he’s been in radio for years but your voice is excellent for that type of work (unless you’re already doing it a bit {?})
I used to be a Honda girl…driving a civic, CRV and Pilot, but I jumped to Toyota when someone hit me and totaled my Pilot…2 reasons! Number 1 is I have a friend with the Accord that has that stupid shifter…I hate that thing!! The other thing is all wheel drive as I live in Colorado now and must have it. I got a Rav4 and love it and much better gas mileage!
I think it rides too low, making it uncomfortable to get in and out. I guess they made it more sporty.. I had the chance try to this model as Uber drives and found it roomy, but too low in the back seat. It is too bad, as indeed, these are good reliable vehicles.

I owned a 2019 Accord EXL for six months. In that time I had issues with the car. The screen kept telling me my tires were low when they were not. The engine (1.5 liter turbo) hesitated from a stop which was very annoying. The CVT transmission may have had something to do with the lag. Ended up selling it and buying a Challenger GT with it's naturally aspirated V-6. Have had no issues with the car whatsoever.

I think it’s sold poorly recently because it’s relatively boring looking compared to the competition that’s bringing on the heat. Even internally, the new Civic looks so nice outside AND inside, I’d be hard pressed to get the accord over the civic.

the Accord have been around for nearly 50 years same as the Hatchback version of the Toyota Corolla Toyota Camry debuted for the 1983 model year and the Hyundai Sonata debuted here shortly after the Camry did Camry has sold more than 225,000 cars in the US alone each year from 1988 and will do the same this year hitting its peak in 2007 with 473,000 cars sold in the US alone where its sold around 15,000,000 cars over its production life thus far and been the top passenger car sold in this country for 24 of the last 25 model years for example Cadillac's best selling model in its History is the Deville selling 5.3 million cars in its 45 year production run discontinued in 2004 if Cadillac Bought the Deville back as a battery electric that would make many people happy myself included it was the first luxury car I ever rode in as a youngest my late maternal grandmother drove a used 79 80 or 81 Coupe Deville possibly with the partial Landau roof can't remember as she traded the car in in 1988 for a used 1984 Buick Skylark which she had relatively good luck with considering the issues that gen of Skylarks GM's X Body cars had with brake failures the longest production American car still in production at the moment is Chevrolet Malibu which originally started as the top trim on the Chevelle in 1964 but became its own model in 1968 with 46 years in production it wasn't produced from 1984 to 1996 but eventually came back as a trim level on the Corsica for 1997 model year when my grandmother drove me to school growing up she at first drove a 1990 Chevy Caprice Classic and then eventually was switched to a 1996 Corsica or a 1997 Malibu same color and features though in a smaller package the 3rd gen Caprice Sedan was 214 in long while the 5th gen Malibu is 190 in long so the Caprice was over 2Ft longer than the Malibu and the Corsica was the shortest of the Bunch at 15 1/3 feet long
Another great video! Proud owner of a 2009 Honda Accord EX-L with 208,000 miles. Very low maintenance and very easy to repair if parts needs to be replace. I wouldn't mind owning a modern Accord, but don't think I will own a newer Accord or any other newer car soon. Since my 09' Accord will continue to drive down the road for many years to come. A very reliable car from my own experience and knowing what parts needs replacement and general maintenance.
For the price tag people will just get a SUV, there is just very little interest in sedans anymore. Honda fans are holding on to old stock or not purchasing the new products as much. I’ll keep driving my 06 Accord and 80’s-90’s Honda’s as long as possible..

I always love your reviews, however, based on my experience with a loaner 2008 Accord I will offer my experience. First, the Accord did have a smooth straight line ride with very little steering wheel input, however, the seats were uncomfortable and the radio controls were poor. I would never buy a "sedan" because of it's lack of adaptability.and hauling capability. Additionally the lack of a trailer hitch (for small trailers) option is a deal breaker.
This current generation Accord deserved to sell much much more than what it did. Its actually sad because Honda really thought this generation Accord was going to sell as much if not more than 9th generation Accord.

I think people generally do prefer this one to the last one, it’s just so many people buy crossovers now instead so the sales drop no matter how nice they are. If you look at sales records, the accord and CRV swapped sales numbers the past few years
The way I see it. The Accord is like the KMart department stores of old. They offer about everything you need for your shopping needs. But not willing to adjust as time goes on with the conveniences that people expect. It took KMART years to offer a grocery department section etc...when stores like Walmart offered it and more. They gave the people what they wanted in a timely manner. The Honda Accord gives what you need, but not everything you want.

The one thing you didn't mention was the Accord's terrible audio system. So many customers of 2018-2022 Accords are not happy with the stereo system, it lacks low/midrange/bass punch. Apparently, it's loud enough, but that's it. The Civic's Bose system is way better.
@@jakedover5301 Would it be just a matter of swapping cheap speakers? If that were the case, you could replace with much better speakers. I would take the car to an auto/audio shop and get their opinion.

I believe the sales of the Accord are down but they’ve got some serious competition with the Hyundai Sonata. I still think the Honda Accord is a great little car and expect them to rebound in the coming years.

Only one out of five gas powered models have a REAL transmission.....The rest have a stupid CVT. The Touring line, with a 10 speed trans, runs around $40,000........Pretty reasonable.
