All hamsters are different and there is no one-size-fits-all approach We can help each other through continuous learning Please feel free to share your experiences below P.S. Thank you all for your kind words about Miso, her legacy will live on❤
First I had a terrible cage and everything, but my friend learned me a lot, and people on RU-vid and TikTok learned me more and now I have an aquarium!🐹All love to Miso 💕
my husband and I are first time hamster parents. for such small creatures, they mean to much to us. one of the best things I love about my hammies are their different personalities! every day is a learning experience. love your vids and hammies. ❤️
My only hamster experience was at my friend's and learning from your videos. Still miss Miso and she will live on through our memories and your channel.
People really need to see this.. Hamsters are really loyal (at least according to my experience), so please be a responsible owner and love them forever!! Please really do think twice before you get a hamster, and always love them. Never punish them if they bite, that'll make your relationship with your hamster even worse. Never gonna give them up!💛
Remember if people where always trying to pick us up and bother them we would be biting more than our hamsters do! Be kind to the little ones and forgive them easily
Why punish them if they bite, it's a normal thing, just have more patience and keep it up✌️. They aren't humans that we can now scold them not to bitr, lmao. Tnx for sharing.
I actually addicted to all the sounds my baby hamster make during the night . I have two cages for two syrian hamsters in my bedroom. Whenever i start to go to sleep, I will play with them a bit and when i need to go out at midnight to peepee ,I can look at them a little bit. When i wake up in the morning ,I can see them as they are quickly gathering their food to their nest and preparing to sleep.
I keep my Campbell in the bedroom. Her noises actually help me sleep at night. They also let me know she hasn't escaped yet. Last time she woke me up by climbing onto my hand in the middle of the night, lol. Fun times. She hasn't tried to escape since, but hearing her making noise brings me peace.
My hamster died a few years ago, his name was Wilson and I loved him very much, he was playful and very cute, he lived for 3 years. After a long time not being able to have another pet after him, I'm finally thinking about getting a hamster and I want to do everything right so that my new little friend is as happy as Wilson.
One of my syrian hamsters named Mushu died a few months ago from wettail. He wasn't treated well in the pet store but I'm glad we gave him a happy life.
I've had hamsters for 20+ years, stopping for 10 years when I had a dog. I never consider myself fully learned, and I love your informational videos! Thank you for spreading not only the cute side of these pets, but also the downsides and care requirements! ❤❤
I actually plan to get squirrels but I do love cute little hamsters so I will stick to the videos because they're cuteness is just too much. I love their little noses in their ears!
i have a dwarf hamster and I keep her in my room, her noises used to annoy me but eventually I got used to them and now can sleep through her rattling wheel and loud drinking :P
I agree! Due to our tropical weather it is unfortunate for me to keep them in the living area. Both of my hamsters are in my room and so far no problems and no noice. I used air filter daily to clean the air too. I used air con daily for them! 🥰
I love how you post so frequently. Im always learning something new. I haven’t kept a hamster in a year but I feel prepared for when I find my next one! Thanks for your hard work 🌟
Just a little addition to the video: 4000 square centimeters for a syrian hamster cage is the absolute minimum and don't count in any platforms or higher grounds! For winter whites 3000 square centimeter cages are the minimum in here. For robos please have at least as large as a syrian hamster cage because robos are the most active ones. Please add a lot of safe bedding to the enclosure, there are many types and for syrians you need to have at least 20 cm of it, for dwarfs 10-15 cm could be enough. They naturally live underground and the thick bedding helps them caving. You must have a hamster wheel for them to satisfy their need of movement, hamsters run for like 8-10 kilometers a day! For dwarfs you need at least 20 cm and for syrians at least 28 cm in diameter. You also need to avoid mesh wheels, the hammy can stuck it's feet in it and break it or tear it off! Quiet wooden wheels are the best imo. If you want to tame your hamster the first step is to have: a big enclosure (there's no such thing as too big!), safe and enough bedding, a proper wheel, a sand bath (a little bowl with hamster safe sand), a proper diet, water and several hiding places in the enclosure. If you have these things your hamster won't be so grumpy and stressed therefore you can tame it, but if it lacks proper care it will be stressed. Also, tomatoes are edible and they usually love it, BUT you need to cut off the green pieces of it, because it's poisionous for them (leaves and the stalk thing)!
In my childhood I had three golden hamsters consecutively. Two of three must have had lemming genes. Whenever I placed them on a flat surface their first instinct was to run to the edge, no matter if there was a drop or not. Both just ran straight over the edge in suicidal fashion. I don't know if this is typical, but just like in this video there was no slowing down before jumping off.
Very beautiful💜😘👍❤️love it!! In my country the bare minimum is 100x50x50 cm for enclosures, cages with wire are illegal here. And actually tomatoes are not poisonous for hamsters, my vet said it too. You just should remove any green piece and the seeds of it, then it's totally ok to eat. Very nice video👍😊
My hamster is weird. She sleep to 7 pm, then wake up and run, run, ruuun and play. At 11 pm when I switch off the light she immediately hide in her home and go sleep for the rest of the night. If I don't switch off the light at 11pm, she will play until 00:00 and then find some dark place to sleep. My sweet, weird, daily hamster which love light. 😅
Thanks for your videos! They helped me a lot with my first hamsters! Your videos are very important because in the place where I live, the majority of the population considers hamsters to be toys and do not care for them properly. Sometimes I feel like the only person who takes my hamsters to the vet.
This is such a good video ❤ I've owned hamsters for a long while and this is a great refresher for me , and I've learnt new things. Yes about the bedroom situation. I brought my hamster in my bedroom for a couple of nights because of the extremely hot weather (air conditioner) but i didn't sleep well 😅 whoops, I've been giving my ham ham too many mealworms 🤭back to dieting!
I honestly feel like a newbie can handle a robo dwarf. Heck, my first hamster was a robo. Just be patient and gentle and that hamster will be clinging on to you in no time.
I had hamsters as a kid and I’m ashamed to say we did NOT treat them well, as we did no research prior (kept several together in the same enclosure, and bathed them with warm water) But the oldest hammie reached 4 yrs so I guess we did SOMETHING right. 😢
I feel some important things were missed in this video, such as good bedding for burrowing, the benefits of a more crowded cage, hamster's have bad vision, and not every country has the same access to certain products. (By crowded I mean more places to hide, different textures, and variety)
Sadly here in my place some hamster owners using them to have more babies and sell them 💔 mixing them all together from adult to 1week old hamsters (but the female and males are separate) Then some owners letting them eat any food they have not knowing if its bad for the hamsters 😢 Hoping that if some people are planning to adopt a hamster they should do a research first so that they can take good care of that lil cutie. Thank You for this KUMAQQ 💙
They are ideal pets if you have long working hours and only some time in the evening. You can easily leave them alone, even for 1-2 weeks, when you go on vacation. Just provide enough food and water. Its a big advantage.
Hi Kuma! My two kids and I love your videos! My daughter cried after watching your beautiful video about Miso! So sorry for your loss. We live in the Tampa area and our power went out because of the hurricane. It's been out for 2 days so far and we're worried about our little 5 month old Syrian. It hasn't gotten hot yet because of the storm, but it usually gets up to the high 90s here. Without A/C we are worried that one the temperature goes up, if we don't have power he'll pass away. We don't have any place to board him near us. Do you have any tips for keeping him cool and stress free?
This vid reminded me I asked my parents for a hamster and they said not until next year but on the same year I asked for one we found a hamster outside and n the backyard and my parents were like welp free hamster lets surprise our daughter 😂
We had a hamster (my daughter's..) our first her name is Googie, she had crossed the rainbow bridge last year September 9, so she and Ms. Miso are likely the same age (i think) i loved watching Miso before and so fond of her. Our late Googie is a Syrian too, a pretty Syrian❤ though their life span is short I know she had lived her life full and happy. We gave her all the love we can give her after we adopted her. As of now we have a 2nd hammy named Peiji, also a pretty Syrian. We still enjoy watching and learning from Ur videos. Thanks a lot for the entertainment and knowlegde❤❤❤
please also strive to house them a a proper size enclosure! Kumaqq looks they use bin cages, which are great at the 50-75-90 ltr size! normally easy to modify they are perfect bc the bedding tray is big enough to absorb more ammonia and provide somewhere to dig, which they do a lot outside! yes even if they get to run around a lot, bc its been shown right size enclosure helps them relax and live longer
Oh gosh- I didn’t do most of these when I first got my hamster 😅 But me and her had a special connection. I’ll make sure to do these with my other hamster for now on ( the reason I say that is because my first hamster passed away )
One day a stray cat was sitting with me on a bench Close to the bench was a big market so I bought something and gave it to the cat when the sudden I realize that the thing is toxic to the poor kitty But still she tried the other thing I bought😊
My mom asks me to keep our hamster (His name is Drill Sergeant/Sergie) in my room because im a deep sleeper and im rarely bothered by the noises he makes at night, so i can't say that point is applicable to most ^^
Oh i didnt know that hamsters cant eat almonds!! I gave a few for my hamster Lottie and she loved them. Thanks for including it in the video! Now I know :)
I've had hamsters in the eighties '80 for years, my first hampy was already pregnant when I bought her at the pet store (at that time I didn't know she was pregnant) so that was a surprise 8 babies so cute. When they were old enough to leave the mom I brought them to the pet store where I got mom , he was interested in the babies he wanted to pay for them but I said let's swap for stuff i need for my mom hampy he agreed. Win win on both sides 😊. Then it let to more hamsters , at one time I built a cage 2m x 1m x 1m (m=meter) that's pretty big for 25 hamsters. I also made a divider in the middle male and females on each side, that worked fine but sometimes one of the other escaped to the other side..... what let to some hamster arguments / fights and .......more babies 😅. Once a day I let them roam free through the house , most of them know how to get back in the cage with 2 full groceries bags so funny to watch.
EVERY animal is clean in general since it is vital for staying healthy, not just hamsters! Also..did i beat the world record? My hamster from childhood have lived for 5 years.
Hi KUMAQQ. In my country, people quite don’t understand correctly about taking care a hamster such as keeping them in pair or a very small fancy cage are still found generally. In my country not every people understand English so I think I’m going to share your video and translate the explanation in to my language under the sharing. Is it okey for you?
Yes, I like them very much. I am the owner of eight hamster. Two dwarf Dshungarian female hamster, the other sie are middle Teddyhamster. Greetings from West Germany.
Hey KumaQQ! I am currently looking for some safe hamster sand and i was wondering what you recommend :) Thank you for the cute and educational videos and thank you for educating me as a hamster owner 😊
I am getting a Hamster next weekend and I am gonna put him in my bedroom because I need these little noises to sleep . If there’s no sounds I can’t sleep . The hamster is gonna help me „probably”
I got my hamster from a crazy breeder gave him nothing but a cage he didn’t even give the poor dwarf hamsters water but I told my parents I want a bigger cage they said OK like I’m having the best parents ever not about the parents if they care my Syrian golden hamster is not living a good life😊
