Love this show concept. I have asked Tim to do a segment on this (best sports watch bracelets, most comfortable bracelets, Holy Trinity bracelet comparison, etc.) for his Monday Show a couple of times over the years.
Being around a table is much better for this type of conversation because everyone is involved in the conversation rather than one person being left out of a conversation & unable to read body language. The conversation flows much more organically.
Until you mentioned it, I didn't realize the deployant clasps aren't integrated into the bracelet. I checked all my watches, and only one was pretty tightly integrated, my JLC Reverso with steel bracelet and deployant clasp. It sits pretty tight with no space between the clasp and bracelet when held like you did.
It's one of those things you don't think about until pointed out! JLC has always made great bracelets and they put a crazy amount of technology and patents in many of them. Thanks for watching!
IWC’s Mark XVIII bracelet unnamed? Beautifully finished, superlatively comfortable, infinitely adjustable, micro adjustable, plays well with light, and missing only the quick detach feature which I’d personally never use save for thorough watch head cleaning. When I buy a watch on bracelet it remains so as its intended purpose in my collection demands it; strapped watches remaining separate and distinct. Fun vid nonetheless, thanks for sharing a peek at some nice pieces. Ciao.
Your so right about the IWC’s Mark XVIII bracelet, in particular the micro adjust mechanism on the clasp, which is exceptional. All other watch brands are either lazy or greedy, in the case of some both. All high end watch brands, in my humble opinion, should adopt this approach.
I think the Oris Aquis has a really excellent bracelet for a watch in its price bracket. Also that Patek 5960/1a is my grail, of all the steel bracelet Pateks that's easily my favorite
I would say the IWC pilots bracelet is one of the best in the industry (no hyperbole) - each individual link is solid, fully modular and removable (without using any tools) and it comes with a push button sliding adjustment clasp without taking the watch off. 👌🏼
I agree... and the Aquatimer have quick-change bracelet system (which was originally borrowed from Cartier, but executed well). The only thing that IWC has not done well with their bracelets are the micro-adjustment. The use of a Clasp with micro-adjustment doesn't quite slice it. They need to come up with a better, more elegant system.
Thank God these days you can get a quick-change of the strap/ bracelet on "normal" priced watches like ML AIKON, CW TRIDENT and now the new HIGHLIFE from FC
I'm slightly puzzled by this. I only wear vintage watches (60s & 70s), and I've never had any of the problems with my vintage bracelets that some of these examples claim to "solve". All my bracelets have simple stamped folding clasps that are simple to use, microadjustable with a springbar on the clasp and entirely comfortable. And what's this about "removable" bracelets? Can't any bracelet be removed and installed pretty easily with a springbar tool?
My favorite bracelet (not clasp) is the one on my Aquis. It attaches high to the case giving it a unique look and though it's integrated does not fall for the RO or Octo Finissimo vibe where the bracelet is the watch. The new Moser strikes a great balance in that department although I think that watch (dial excluded) looks like an insect.
Gentlemen...do you have a recommendation for a high quality aftermarket bracelet? I have a JLC Geophysic 1959 (19mm lugs) that was only produced on a leather strap. I’d love to be able to put it on a metal bracelet but can’t find one that is high quality. I would appreciate any suggestions you have.
Of course the right fit will be the challenge...but Raymond Weil makes excellent bracelets (and watches) - You can pick up second hand quartz RW very inexpensively and harvest the bracelet.
@@samstraughan9054 This is actually a very Smart Idea! RW does make some very good bracelets and buying and harvesting would excellent way to get a well made off brand Bracelet. Thank You Both for watching!
I understand no one's as convicted about keeping the room safe while being a total machine of a chatterbox under a mask as Tim is, but as public figures in the watch world, would love to see at least some social distancing not only to set an example for your global viewers, but for your safety as well. We're still on the middle of a pandemic fellas. Stay safe so us in the audience can be assured of more of this rich entertaining content in the future. Much love from Thailand ❤
I do not understand why detachable straps are such a big thing and why they are not more standard....12 years ago I bought a Renato watch with leather and steel from a television shopping center...it was simple to use.
Ulysse Nardin Maxi Diver (266-33) has one of the BEST bracelet/straps & clasp combo’s in the watch industry. They get no credit anymore by industry people for their refineries & engineering
A maker/seller can always depict a watch on a leather strap of some sort. Very little variance there. But when offered on a bracelet, a watch should ALWAYS be depicted on the said bracelet because it can completely change the flavor of the watch. Unlike some sort of leather, a bracelet is something that requires careful design consideration.
The Octo is my #1 grail watch, great show especially because you guys aren’t wearing masks! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Someone tell Tim the coast is clear? Ditch the muzzle!
Phafanapolis Especially because it’s not a pandemic, CDC says only 9,700 deaths nationwide, which doesn’t equate to a pandemic. You’re more likely to get hit by an asteroid.
I love Tim Mosso on WatchBox but the rest of the crew are cringe. Jesus fucking Christ, STOP TALKING ABOUT RESALE! This is a video about bracelets and your teaser clip is all about potential secondary market prices.
take a drink every time someone says 'correct', actually don't because you will be dead by the end of this video. i deal with the UK ambulance service, there phrase is 'perfect' it drives me crazy. clearly the govberg word is 'correct'.. love the channel but change it about guys.....
