Never stop in lanes on a freeway....coast to either shoulder..... . A flat...? Drive with flat to an exit or a turnout...Stopping on a freeway reduces life expectancy to about 30 seconds to five minutes. !
Have you ever had a car stall on you? Most road users haven't and when it does, it catches you off guard. Power steering goes out and brakes start to stiffen up; considering how a lot of drivers know nothing about cars and just use it as a form of transportation, this can be overwhelming if it happens on the freeway. At least they had enough knowledge to put their hazard lights on.
@@user-uq4ly6fp6m if a car stalls on you like that chances are there was something wrong with it beforehand and you still chose to operate the vehicle in that condition
@@B345T1N355Official right, and you risk the chance of getting into an accident every time you step into the seat of the car lol. Do me a favor and look up "Target Arleta, CA" on google maps. It's right off the Osborne exit; if you can't see a car stalled out with hazards on with over 1 mile of straight road and have 6 other lanes to to switch into, then you're a liability. Driving is a privilage not a right.
Accident? More ilke negligent operation of a motor vehicle. Who knew youd have to pay attention to the road infront of you in a 3000lb vehicle moving at 60mph 🤷There is no reason for the driver to not be able to see a car with their hazards on this stretch of road off of Osborne; it's completely straight on both sides. I don't blame the stopped car if the vehicle just stalled out on them, it was out of their control until police showed up to push it off.
People should pay more attention. But on the other hand if you stop, on the freeway, AND IN THE LANES, 100% at fault. Cars don't just stop. If you lose power, you have a death wish if you decide to just ride it out.
BE PROACTIVE people. People just driving up and slowing down when seeing these crashed cars.....click that little triangle on your dash, it might save someones life, or your own!
we can assume since they're in the middle lanes they were traveling at highway speeds (70+ MPH). Cars when the break down do NOT suddenly "jolt" to a standstill. They take time slowing down. Even with complete engine or transmission failure, you would still have around 30 second to 1 full minute of the vehicle still being controllable via steering and moving with its own momentum. By your goofy logic, that person would have recognized their car was having trouble, and instead of IMMEDIATELY pulling over, they rode out the car having issues. Mind you, this is at highway speed. Meaning they had more than enough momentum in the car to get it to the right lanes. I know people like you love to assign blame to anyone but yourselves, but the insurance companies won't look at it like your goofy self does. Do everyone a favor and never get behind the wheel. You're the type of person to feel their car break down and have 0 survival skills kick in while in the middle of the road. You're a danger to yourself and everyone around you.
