Cameraman, I hope you’re feeling better! I majored in video production and ultimately gave it up, but I don’t know if everyone understands just how much work goes into recording, sound, lighting, editing, adding and adjusting audio, adding text and transitions, etc… and you are awesome at it! Thank you for all the work you do to share Susie’s knowledge with us. You’re both amazing and I hope your recovery is quick and without any complications!

I always went a month in-between my appointments. I wore acrylic nails for 10 years or so and had a greenie on one nail one time. My nail tech explained how it probably happened due to the moisture. She took off the loose product, redid my nail and I never had another issue. The green part of the nail eventually just grew out.

I have a client that does a lot of summer gardening and will have a nail pop off now and again. She super glued them back on and came back with three nails with greenies. She doesn’t have the time to come back for repairs. I said if you must glue them on; make sure to dehydrate your nail and the extension beforehand with some alcohol or acetone. Hopefully this will alleviate the bacteria that would be trapped.

I had unexpectedly faced greenies about two years ago when I did my tips with nail glue and got scared. Needed this video then. But I haven’t had an issue since as I started to do Gel X kinda way as it started to raise to fame. And only recently I also gave another shot to dual forms which felt revolutionary. Also discovering acid primer has been revolutionary for my nail journey as I don’t get easy lifting compared to when I started to do my nails many years ago (still despite being years into this my application could be smoother and more refined but guess I need constant practice for that to ever work out) Good to know it’s not actually a fungal thing as I feared of that being the reason for the greenies. But I have quit the glue and just moved to gel only and so far so good.
@NailCareerEducation
@NailCareerEducation 5 месяцев назад
Yes the gel is better than glue GEL X ( full cover tips ) is still susceptible to greenies still - but sounds like you have figured out to avoids those pesky lifts 👍

The only time I ever had a problem with any of my nails in 40 years was when I used the full cover gel tips after poly gel. I (unfortunately) was having issues getting the poly gel to adhere to my nail so it was almost always a full soak off/file off (my nails only like acrylic 🤷🏼‍♀️). I used the full cover gel tips because I found out last minute I was going away and ended up in a hot tub - long story short greenies nail infection and onycholysis 😭- it took 5 months of lots of treatment and begging for mercy but I recovered. My nail beds are totally different now due to the hyponychium recession but it hasn’t been that long and my nails grow fast

Happy to hear Mr Cameraman is doing ok! I want to ask about how to strengthen nail corners where the extension first starts expanding past the natural nail edge. No matter how well I prep, I tend to always get snags and breaks right on the edge of where my natural nail ends. I wanted to ask if you have any tips for strengthening that area!

I had greenies, they can hurt if not removed right away. Mine was sensitive to touch, and hurt if tapped or pressure, that’s how I caught it. I tried everything and nothing helped. Had to simply let it grow out for months. Got the greenies from getting my nails done in professional salons and they didn’t notice the lifting. It went for a.couple months before I felt and saw it. I taught myself to do my own nails for years now, no more greenies ☺️

No, I don’t agree- But if someone isn’t comfortable with an Efile I get why they would suggest to soak it off rather than file. But if you learn you’re Efile it’s your best tool/ and it’s rare that EVERY nail is lifted 50% or more

Yes, naturally you would run into this much more often than Nail technicians would. But remember pseudomonas is not isolated to fake nails or artificial nails. Pseudomonas is found in natural nails more commonly in toenails. But they are under natural nails.

How do I prevent fungus under my acrylic nails? It's been a problem for me in the past. I have fungus in my toenails which I haven't been able to get rid of using prescription topicals and oral medication. I understand that the dosage for the oral was not strong enough, but I wanted to put off another 3 month round for the present. I'm 75 years old. My problem is splitting nails that won't grow out without splitting them down into my finger. Acrylic nails worked, but I got fungus and my nails were lifting off my finger. I want to learn to do my own nails. Also, nothing other than acrylic will stick to my nails. I've tried gell which kept coming off, My nail tech tried everything she could. Nothing worked. Press on nails come off within 24 hours, and nail polish flakes off.
@eyesonmarymahaney1731
@eyesonmarymahaney1731 5 месяцев назад
I had that happen to me when I had fake nails put on and I had to have the fake nails taken off. When I noticed it it was after I had my nails redone after they had grown out and I was trying to figure out what the green discoloration was and my nail tech had to take the artificial nails off and put a ointment or something on my nails to get rid of the green colorand that was the first time I had ever happened to me. I’ve never had that happen. Could it also happen if your body has a bad reaction to the acrylic nails?

I honestly wouldn't underestimate this bacteria. Like any other, it definitely can lead to health repercussions, especially if your immune system is compromised. I personally would recommend to ask a doctor or at the pharmacy how to get rid of it or at least wait till it disappears/grows out before you put new nails on because this bacteria can thrive in an environment without oxygen and do even more damage.

When I had Acrylic nails and went in for my fills every 2/3 weeks. The tech used Nippers (or something that looked like nippers to me, a non-nail tech) to remove all the lifting Acrylic. Is there a reason you use a drill for this and not the nipers?
@NailCareerEducation
@NailCareerEducation 5 месяцев назад
Nippers an pull and pry product off We never wanna do that / It’s too easy to damage the natural nail that way. And we don’t want to damage the natural nail because it is the foundation of which we are going to add more product.
@weirdrabbitgirl
@weirdrabbitgirl 5 месяцев назад
Yes! Maybe your nail tech was really skilled, but if you cut off product with nippers, you’re essentially having to shove those nippers in between the lifted product and the natural nail, which is way more likely to pry more product off in the process, damaging your natural nail and/or causing more lifting. The e-file only approaches it from the top, so if it’s a tiny edge of lifting, or maybe a circular pocket or a weird shape? You can focus on only removing those lifted bits without having to shove a tool down in there and get the tool to fit.

@NailCareerEducation
@NailCareerEducation 5 месяцев назад
Goodness no! If your nail technician is removing this set because they don’t want to do a fail it’s because they don’t know how to prep this correctly for a nail fill. Removing it first of all is costly to you the customer, it’s also going to add a lot more time to the customer and the nail technician. And it’s completely unnecessary. Also, a lot of text do not know how to remove without damaging the nail plate further. There’s no sense of removing nails that are still attached. Unless the nails are detached, which is already moved anyway, there’s no point in removing this set.

I had a greenie on my thumb and was able to cut off some of it. I had to wait until the rest grew out.

You can put another fake nail on if the natural nail is not compromised

Hi Suzie, if nails has greenie is it advisable to put product??

I have read your question a couple of times, and I can’t understand exactly what you’re trying to say. I’m trying to replace the word put, but I can’t seem to find the appropriate word that makes the sentence makes sense. If you see this could you please ask me it again?

Hi Suzie, apologies for the confusion, I would like to ask , if the clients nails have greenie after removal of the acrylic hard gel due to lifting, is it allowed to cover the nails again with any product ? Or live in the nails without any nail protection? Thank you Suzie.

Got two greenies the first time I tried gel x by myself, I struggled a bit and there was a bubble or two in the gel that I cured, that’s what caused if for me I guess

Most likely. And that’s why I tried to educate. But don’t be hard on yourself because before the DIY market in Nails really picked up in the past five years, pseudomonas was happening to experience nail technician as well. And of course we’re seeing it more now because of the application of full cover tips.

@@NailCareerEducation I’ll try a second time with a different technique to make sure it’s all neat ☺️ but I learned a lot from your video since I thought it was fungus when it happened and I was horrified

Yes, the cats are absolutely loving it now because we’re not downstairs working as much. We’re home all the time they’re in heaven. If I could just get them to help clean up around the house, they would be at least helpful more than just adorable.

@@NailCareerEducation You have no idea how many times I say that to my terrier and my greyhound. "If y'all would just pick up your messes and help clean up, I could give you more love." I'm still waiting.
