Your eye for detail is incredible Xander. After watching this video I feel totally relaxed and I know this will be the best 29 minutes and 46 seconds of my day. Thank you for uploading and sharing your amazing work with us ❤
I have dozens of paint brushes, and some of my favorite brushes for blending and distressing are makeup brushes. I love your work. I am currently working on a mini bar advent calendar. I am making it out of an old wooden wine box.
The whole front facade is incredible but that front door is awe inspiring. Simply stunning. Favorite part is the window glass…omg, brilliant! You’re a genius.
But but Xander!!! I don't have a laser cutter or 3D printer... it's just me in a wee corner plugging away. Oh how your tease with your shiny things! :D - Absolutely gorgeous BTW
I ADORE what your McKinley's exterior renovations ( ALL OF THEM) and wish to commend you on your perseverance through your painful physical handicap and healing as well. So Glad you've mended Just thinking about your observation tower and that perhaps your Explorer would enjoy a leaded glass dome ceiling to better observe the planetary movements?🥰
Thank you so so much Elizabeth 🥰 Since reading this message my brain has been on overload with ideas 😅 🤯💓 you are a genius 😄 🙏 SooooooooOooOoo many cool ideas are flooding in
It looks really great! I love how the "stained glass" turned out. And the modern touches! It's so nice to see more modern miniature builds. As always, looking forward to the next video.
This looks amazing. I’m obsessed (no, really) with building dollhouses, and vintage Greenleaf are my favs, as they are lovely, but can present many challenges while building them. You’ve done a stunning job with this house, truly.
Xander I'm letting you know that you give this old woman so much joy in an otherwise uneventful life 😊. Just asking, did the number address you used have any significant meaning. Hope sunshine and warm weather is coming your way. Looking forward to your next endeavor you clever boy.
Awww Joice 🥰 thats so sweet 🥰 I made it number 23 as that was the year ( last year ) my cat sushi okeo gained his wings and the professor in the house is Prof Okeo. The street sign that ill be making this weekend also has a special meaning and is the street I spent my childhood which I often think about. I love little things like this that seem insignificant but have real meanings 🥰
Omgggggg 😮this looks absolutely amazing and the door is just phenomenal your attention to detail is unreal 😁❤from down under xxxx busting to see ur next video.
Hi Christina 😃 I am glad ypu enjoyed it. I definitely prefer making the more chilled and slower style of video with soft music. It suits my personality better too 😄 I am really well thank you. 😊 how are you? 🥰
Absolutely Brilliant! I learned so much by watching your video. Thank you! I am new to miniatures. There were so many wonderful tips, such as flashing out of construction tape, gutter out of a straw and how to make a stone appearance, etc. etc. I absolutely loved the doormat! ❤ I want a life size one for my home. 😆 However, I would love to have one for my dollhouse. Did you make that on your Cricut machine or purchase it? Thanks for sharing your talent with us. I am already looking forward to your next video. 😊
Hi inhale3384 😃 it makes me really happy knowing someone found something useful from my projects and ideas 🥰 The doormat is really cool isn't it 😄 I made it with my cricut but I didn't make the design itself. The design is on Cricut for a life-size doormat. For my purposes, I cut a stencil using vinyl and black paint. The base is 1.5mm cork sheet. The moment I saw it I just HAD to make it in miniature 😅 I will be working on the follow up for this video over the next few days so hopefully 🤞 It won't be too far away 😊
@@craftsbyxander its so easy to get hooked on minis. As soon as I help my daughter with baby items I will be adding more to the dollhouse that I have. I have found many farmhouse minis. Take care and looking forward to more of your videos.
Beautiful Xander, really lovely - I'm all relaxed now :-) I hope you don't mind me asking, but what colour paint is the Valspar you used for the door surround please?
Thank you Tulsatinystuff. I printed them. The file is still available from Thingiverse. They are life-sized but scale down brilliantly. Here is the link if you would like to print them www.thingiverse.com/thing:1640653 😊
Hi Katie. I used 1.5mm chipboard and cut them using a laser cutter. I painted them with a mixture of brown and red acrylic paint. Sealed them with PVA and then grouted them with polyfiller. Once that was dry I used black washes to darken the grout and used heaver washes to make the grout look black in places for that old mouldy mossy looking grout. I hope this helps 😊
