You were talking about keeping loads from bouncing. Some people may not understand that if it bounces too much with a load, it could damage the hydraulic pump/system in these "baby" tractors. You did grsat, Tim. Although, I would have been afraid to have used my gc1710 for this, but it still would have worked. Just gotta be careful. Thats the main thing. Trying to rush anything, without first thinking things out can prove disasterous. Great Job.
Hi Tim, Next time you are trying to save some of the concrete squares, instead of one big hit with the sledge hammer, give the concretes about 4 smaller hits just to the non-saved side of the relief joint. Space the blows evenly along the joint and you will have much better results.
I like the heavy hitch and all the quick attach front accessories. But that sledgehammer technique.... you need to take some tips from the neighbor guy. Start swing with hand near the head and slide down as you swing. Love your videos. Keep making em
Tim, I love the videos. But hey. I have a friendly suggestion. I’ve watched a few videos that you’re swinging a sledge near VERY EXPENSIVE GLASS!!!!! A sheet or 2 of subfloor from Home Depot or where ever you choose is a lot cheaper than one of those lanes of glass. I do speak from experience. Just trying to help. Again, love the videos.
Well we got our 1025r. So far we love it but we've only mowed with it. And we already know what next attachments we're going to get. We're going to be doing loader work soon enough because we got a lot of work to do on our dirt road. You should come to Connecticut and help out lol
Looks like a late night for everyone. Try using a log splitting maul on those concrete seams. Concentrate your hit right in the seam with the blade end. You shouldn't have to use so much effort. You gotta love those forks.
I think this video epitomizes what happens to businesses like Tim's...I had a mason do new steps and walkways at my house, and he got a few new jobs out of it from people driving by and seeing the work.
+MrMunchiemo I wish this was my neighborhood. These folks are great people. They work together, and enjoy each other's company. Very fun and relaxing place to be!
That was a workout for Johnny...oh yah, for you too. Christy got to watch on this job. Got my HH order figured out, just haven't figured out the payment yet.
I'm wanting the HH1DB-G, HHFBK-G and 2 suit case weights. Have to wait till we can afford it as it isn't something I just have to have right now. I'll make do the way I've been doing. Unless of course I smash my fingers again. Then it will become a right now thing. :)
dude, john deere better be showing you some love, that's all I can say. one day youll look back on this video and be like "man I did that the hard way" lol. I almost commented "tilt the forks down and drive into it while tilting" but you figured it out. next time, stick the forks in about half way, pick up as hard as it will go then start tilting down as you drive into it. once you have it in the air, throw a round or jagged piece of small concrete under the slab and drop it on it. if it don't break use the tip o the forks to put weight on it. kickin job and I was serious about john deere showing love. they should at least service and repair that thing for free cuz you work that lil tractor. I would imagine you sell some units for them. I know I would have been more apt to swing the extra couple grand when I bought my tractor if I had watched your videos prior to making my purchase.
Just curious if rollaway dumpster truck did a wheelie or not when picking dumpster up? I once loaded one with more than half concrete, broke every piece of the driveway...
Boy, Tim gets ONE hundred percent of that loaders lift force any way he can! No way John deer would even claim it could do it, probably wouldn’t even believe his actual loader performance numbers if you had a real time gauge showing them.
Looks like you could use a hoe hammer for the 1025r! Hahaha! I have an upcoming project to redo my brick walkway around the house. Around 80 feet or so by 4'. Not sure how to tackle that with our Johnny to minimize manual handling. I need to remove each brick (I want to save them to reuse), landscape timbers clean up and add more stone dust compact and level and reset bricks and timbers. I have the bucket and hoe. Any ideas?
+tom smith use pallets for temporary holding of your bricks. Move the pallets as needed with your forks on Johnny. If you don't have forks, get them! Www.artillian.com
*Fun Fact -* Bigger tractor = bigger horsepower. Get a John Deere 2R Series or a John Deere 3R Series. It would help a lot. And yes it does cost more .-. I know that cos a John Deere 5R Series is around about £98000 :(
+Portugee Prepper should be very similar to the Kubota. Folks say mine is stronger than the average 1-series. I can lift 12001250 lbs off the ground about a foot. Not nearly as much to full height.
That is the way Deere makes them. The loader is made in different place than the backhoe. So, the backhoe still uses chrome rams. The black ones are supposed to be better :-) You know how that goes...sort of like plastic vs. steel hood :-)
Isn't it amazing what you can do with a sub-compact tractor. Some days you want to get a 'bigger' tractor and then you see where and what the 'small' tractors can do and you think, Why?....
yes on first project, did not dig on second project. What is it with everyone thinking they are the 'call before you dig' police? We get this comment at least 3-5 times on EVERY video.
I was just wondering how you estimate the cost of the job like this. I just did some backhoe work for a friend and neighbor and while I was doing it for free because he's a friend and neighbor, he did ask how he could pay me and I have no idea how to figure the cost of a job like this. any suggestions?
Around my area they charge $80-$110 an hour for Mini excavator jobs. Backhoes I believe run around $75/ Hr and most people have either a 2 or 4 hour Minimum charge to cover gas and travel time depending on distance. In this situation I guess it depends on just how good of a friend is he? Haha Personally in these situations ive always just told them to cover my gas and normally they end up giving me a $100 or something. I hate working for friends..
Mine will not lift that I don't have the suitcase weights on the back but do have the light weight wheel weights on it and it will just start getting tipsy before I run out of hydraulic power 98% of the time just like you did with the huge piece. Even with the new pump and check valve it is not that strong like it was when it was new
Tractor Time with Tim it would not do me any good because I don't even need the backhoe to stabilize my tractor with all it will pick up because it don't have the hydraulic power that yours does. I don't know why. And John Deere don't know why it don't have the power because it passes all their tests now but it don't have the power it had when I got it. When I got it I dug sidewalks with it just like you did in this video. Now I can't even pick up the same sidewalks I dug out of the ground. And I also can't dig a small stump with the backhoe. Do you have any suggestions.
Every time I watch this channel, it seems like the theme is "how much can we overload this poor little JD tractor?". I'm certain that you've turned up the hydro pressure, since you've got 1200lbs+ of ballast on the rear, and that is what limited your loader capacity.
NEXT TIME LIFT THE CONCRETE UP AND BACK UP AND DROP IT THAT WILL BREAK IT UP SO YOUR LOADER CAN HANDEL IT YOU WONT HAVE TO USE THE HAMMER SO MUCH ON THE PIECES YOU DID NOT WANT TO KEEP
Wait a minute body you gotta watch your woman, you see how she did that with the popcorn first she got you to agree with the food and then she slid in the popcorn at the end of the conversation. Watch out for her body she seems like she is a high maintenance woman he he he just kidding around you do have a very good woman let me set that straight. All the time going around with you on the jobs like that that's awesome you're a lucky guy
It's always fun seeing what small tractors can do... I have a deere garden tractor that I was skidding logs with today. Cheek out my channel if you wanna see it
