Drop the Bombadil you gotta remember these folks scream and shout at their sports teams for a living, its in their roots to be on time with the chants lol
Big Boy manipulating the crowd? They were all feeling it vibing together. No manipulation was needed my boy. Manipulating is not a good thing incase u didn't know
Background: Joey just finished his set, he was walking off basically. This chant started, and the rest is history. Also this was in edin, Scotland. best concert I been too
When I first learned of Joey I thought he was a og that I passed on, after years of listening to him my son now a fan said to me hey Dad, Joey ain't from the 90s. I was like bs, but it's so true. He's what I always wanted from a new generation of rappers. A true lyricist and representation of hip-hop!
@@hazeofthegreensmoke505 it’s a combination of that visual queue as well as that dj stopping the beat for a moment to build the suspense. That dj was crazy
So Scotland has the hypest and best crowd for rap concerts? Color me 16 shades of fucking impressed. I'm so happy Joey saw the potential to make the crowd pop even harder and he just went for it. Goes to show that performers who care more about putting on a good performance are so much more entertaining than people who try to perfectly reenact every song recording
This is the livest shit imaginable. I can't think of anything more awesome than hearing a crowd chant your name so hard that your DJ has to drop a beat on it. Not to mention he actually freestyled on it and didn't spit a written
@@Cartermchick nah it's actually quite difficult even though it seems like it wouldn't be. when playing in drums live on a midi or a drum pad your brain just fucks you over and it's hard to get the timing to sound decent
The light op would most likely have a set of prerecorded effects and palettes that make it easier for them to busk. They also seem very skilled at busking, most of this show was likely to have been busked. It’s fully possible
You know if you think of it, all these people became one music group for a minute. They almost tied with how many people Earth, Wind & Fire could fit on stage.
They don’t make beats on stage, they mix existing ones. He just choose the right one 😂🤦♂️ Edit: Yeah I’m dead wrong. It’s clearly pads. Admittedly, when I commented this I had only just bought decks and started to learn. I honestly didn’t even know some DJs used pads to make live beats 😅 In hindsight, I can now see how this is clearly just a beat pad lol.
@@iDrumGod it would take way longer for the DJ to count out the rhythm & tempo of the chant, then locate a beat with a matching bpm than it would to just tap along on sample pads.
The way the crowd knew to stop saying shit while he was rapping for a sec but you could tell he was ending and the crowd came in on perfect timing with the Joey fucking badass again. This might be the best crowd in the history of hip hop crowds
Ahhhhh!!!! This is it! This is a moment that will never happen again. What dance and performing art is all about! This is hip hop. This is music. This is art.
I don't think it has anything to do with where he is, his most loyal fans would go anywhere over to world to see him perform and it's not like it's somebody else's festival. Here in America the problem most of the time is that a lot of the people that go to these festivals don't actually give a fuck about any of the music, they just want to show off their style, wealth, and do drugs and shit. Ask anyone under the age of 30 in America, "Yo do you listen to this artist?" There's a good chance they'll try to convince you that they do even if it's clear as day that they have no fucking clue who it is. It's not about the music to these types, it's just about the fashion and clout. Pisses me the fuck off.
I've watched this video a billion times. I think the reason I keep coming back is because the sense of community is so strong. Music truly brings people together.
Joey is the kind of success story that encourages me as an underground artist with a small following. Seeing how he’s developed his skills and slowly blown up after seizing each and every opportunity he’s been giving has been inspirational! Mans has quickly become a mainstay in the industry and for good reason. Dude is too nice! I know if I put in the work, I can reach a larger audience some day too, but for now, I’m happy being a supporter. My turn will come too. Salute to Joey Badass🔥
I saw Masta Ace in Italy, it was amazing. There were a lot of energy in the air. Joey is totally another level though. But it is because in Europe we are not used to have American rappers so when they come here we break everything. I can't even imagine Wu Tang clan, can't wait for them
I think the guy who posted the comment is American but If not he’s still right. Americans don’t sound the same and some have horrible voices and other have amazing voices. It makes it off key as fuck and some don’t even sing along and get into it ~ an American
