Lynne Taetzsch Great video, thanks. I don't have any paint tubes with this thin nozzle for lines. Is there an alternative method or tool for painting lines? I haven't had any success so far? Thanks again 👍
Thanks, Cilla. I bought the plastic "art tip" a long time ago, and when I tried to find them recently, they are no longer available. I just take good care of the ones I have so I can keep reusing them.
I love love love this piece. I have been watching a lot of Sabine Belz youtube video's because I am trying to paint abstract and I love her work. You have a quote in this video that sums it up, to me.. You said,"I want to give an Improvisational feel to this piece, an abstract expressionalist feel, like everything is working together in a loose way" I even wrote that down. Thanks for sharing your work. Also, I love the under-painting color, you said "parchment". I saw you were using Liquitex acrylics, I guess that is a color they use. I am using Golden, but I have to find that color. Very nice. Thanks Again,
I really love the looseness of your work. I used to be loose before, but now I have tightened up abit in my work. I am going to try and use some of your techniques in a series of paintings I am working on in Indian dancers here in India.
do you ever plan out and use color in a meaningful way (ie: painting in a black base spot, then scumble say a light cheery pink over the top in order to portray something like happiness tinged with darker undertones?) or a Fire red background with blue over the top to indicate calming the chaos or a 'quiet voice amid danger' or something like this? Or is your work all spontaneous expression>?
I bought the screw-on caps a long time ago. Unfortunately, they are no longer available. But another artist gave me this tip: "Another good way is to buy empty refillable markers and fill them with Golden High Flow paint or whatever brand has a low viscosity consistency that won't clog up the tip." Another tip: "So I tried a WILTON decorative cake gel tube. This are tubes filled with sugary gel to write on cakes. I cut the end and washed out all the candy cream, reloaded with acrylic paint, fold the end and use a heavy duty clip to seal it. Worked like a charm! Once finished I squeeze all the left over paint into a small plastic container with lid for later use. No waste. then I clean the tube and change colors. I may buy several tubes now to fill them with other colors. The tubes come with lid so tip is always fresh."

Hi Lynne, thank you for this video. I subscribed to your channel. I learn a lot of your techniques. I was in the same boat as Adeana looking for the right tip and no luck. So I tried a WILTON decorative cake gel tube. This are tubes filled with sugary gel to write on cakes. The same way you judge the quality of any painting--its vision, color sense, composition, energy, depth, etc. A painting of a tree is not good because it looks exactly like the tree. We can take a photograph for that.
thank you. beautiful. do we need to be good painter in drawing to be good in abstract painting? i write poetry and make clips and i m innovative. i love colours and visual abstracts but i haven't been good with drawing ever . can i still become good in abstract painting?
***** Yes, you can, but you will need to put in the time experimenting with materials, colors, forms, etc. Like anything, the more you practice, the better you'll get. It also helps to look at other abstract art--that helps train your eye.
