Hi, for your oily face, get yourself some French Green Clay. Add purified or distilled water to create a mask. Leave the mask on your face for 30 minutes to one hour. It will do amazing things for oil absorbtion without drying out your skin. Just order the dry powdered clay from eBay or Amazon. I usually add eucalyptus oil for my customers, but it isn't necessary for what you need. It will make it feel fabulous though. Now I need to stop watching so many of your dang videos cause you be killing my cell battery. Lol Good Luck!
I'm one of those people who typically skips through videos but everything out your mouth is either informative, funny or both. I adore your entire family and may God continue to bless you all😊👍. Keep up the great work!!! You're an awesome dad and amazing husband❤
Great video! I'm definitely going to share this product info with my daughter- she has issues with dry scalp as well. And I'm so happy for you, your family and your students. You're a born educator! Congrats again on doing what you love to do.
Exactly! I can't use products with Salicylic acid. It makes me break out in an itchy rash. I almost tried the Shea Moisture African Black Soap line and thank goodness I read the ingredients first. My scalp would have been on fire.
You are not only a cosmetologist, you are a hair artist! Thanks so much for sharing your childhood passion with us-I was the same way as a kid, except with paint and a brush and here I am still painting and loving it 50 plus years later, LOL! I've learned so much and am investing in my type 2 a/b fine silver "angel hair" hair by investing in some much needed product (the ones you suggested for fine high porosity hair) thanks to you. Much Love to You and your Beautiful Glam Fam from New Mexico!
Thanks for talking about scalp issues, shedding and how to properly moisturize. I started to worry about my shedding until I realized that I wear braids for 2 to 3 weeks. You did an amazing job on your hair.
You are simply mesmerizing! I've watched several of your Vlogs and respect your knowledge of hair, wigs, products, etc. Even though I'm 'vanilla' (like your Momma!) I've learned so much already. Have had to wear wigs for 30 years and I'm learning how WRONG I've been doing things for that time! Keep educating me!! Bless you and your beautiful family!
@@GetGlamFam when your hairs down like this applying oil to it do you ever shake your head and sing just let your soul glo like from coming to America 🤣 okay I'm going to sleep now... Okay just one more thing who's the badess natural hair dresser on youtube glamfam 😆 OK I think I really need some sleep now.
When I tell you I felt every single sentence about scalp itch in my SOUL🙌🏽 Lawd, the water-activated itching--I thought that only happened to ME!! Linwood, thank you for letting me know I'm not alone!!🤗💖
Wooo chile, I needed THIS! My scalp gives me the blues, especially this summer, and like you, water makes the itching worse. I am ordering this scalp scrub stuff as soon as I finish this video. Thank you for teaching these night classes!😁❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Perfect timing as usual! I've been dealing with dry scalp for years but cut my hair short so now it's super apparent. Gonna have me out here buying a whole new regime. Thank you as always ❤
Great video! I'm definitely going to share this product info with my daughter- she has issues with dry scalp as well. And I'm so happy for you and your family- and your students. You're a born educator! Congrats again on going to what your love to do.
@@GetGlamFam It really does! I was taking care of my hair and it grew until I encountered financial difficulties. Since, I have been lazy to take care of my hair because I can't even afford hair products anymore... Can you please make a video of like the basic BASIC necessities when it comes to products when you aren't even on a budget because you're living from hand to mouth. I'm between blessings 😅☺.
OMG! I felt like you were talking directly to me about the shedding. It always seems excessive but the way you explained it made me feel at ease. I really appreciated this video!
The evolution of "ALOT" (i.e. too many/much to formally quantify) through the recent past: umpteen(th), eleventy, a gang, a grip, hella, mad, choke and the all time Glam Fam fave... INFINITY BILLION! 🎇🎊🎆🎉
Yaaaas!! I bought the entire line. I just used it for the second time last week. I notice a huge difference already. I use that as well as the hot oil, the shampoo and conditioner
I was just logging off of RU-vid and thought I saw your face as it was closing. Great video and will definitely like more videos like this. Will be getting that bamboo/willow bark product. Goodnight Fam!
Thanks. I don't feel like you wasted my time. I really liked that you showed how to use the product, and your explanations on how the product works. That was really helpful. I appreciated that little gem you threw out about products for hair should go on the hair. And products for scalp goes on the scalp.
I shave my hair off in my mid-20s because I couldn't deal with the itch but me gave me a little hope today for hair growth now. #GlamFam helping the massive 👏🏽💯👏🏽💯👏🏽💯👏🏽💯👏🏽
SymonFirst { I said what I said } I hope it proves helpful! Did you ever try tea tree shampoo as well? For me it can help calm itching as well and replaces it with a cool sensation
I love watching you and you are so informative. How ever it time for some Alison and Linwood chit chat. its been awhile. Stay blessed and highly in favor.
Krista Smith Thanks Love! With my job transition our schedules are all over the place, we will have to find our balance before we can really film like normal
I’m so glad I found this video because I wasn’t expecting this to be about dry scalp. I was just about to stop my binge watching session then I clicked on this one. My scalp does the same thing and I thought I had a dermatitis condition or something. I didn’t know it was possible to have dry scalp and oily hair. Thank you.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Lelani's Kitchen Same! I thought I was just tripping, but then I just shampooed my hair and that’s it, nothing else. After one day, my scalp and hair felt like I put something on it. Then I rubbed a finger on my scalp and touched a mirror and was like “True”. Now I’m flake city three days later. For those that think it cant be oily and dry, they’re wrong lol!
My head wasn't itching until I saw you massaging your head! I can't wait to get home! LOL Thanks for showing your shed! I have about that much and I'm always panicking. I see why your clients are going to miss you! Those styles were FIRE!
It took a few starts and stops, but I stayed with you till the end. I loved your stories about your mom, and that you gave her recognition for the initiation into your choice of a profession. The “cul de sacs” where you could just build houses and be the property manager I totally understand!!😂😂 I wear a shorn natural style but I am really drawn to your Glam Fam content because you teach about not only style, but hair health. Thank you, and God’s continued blessings on you and your family!❤️
Mr. Linwood, I absolutely LOVE you! Your videos are super informative, simple to understand, & absolutely hilarious (your commentary keeps me laughing). I haven’t seen this in your previous videos but would you mind possibly sharing how to properly cleanse/moisturize the scalp/hair for someone who suffers from CCCA? All the best to you, Allison & the girls! 💗
I really like listening to you it's just like you're at my kitchen table. I like the fact you are passionate about what you do and honest l learned a lot from listening to you beautiful family thankhou so much.🌷🌷🌷
I absolutely need the products to be demonstrated. It certainly helps me more. Especially with my high porosity hair. Love demonstrations. Make it easier to see how products work before spending my money and it not working. Thank you
You Rock! Your videos are informative, entertaining, engaging, everything. And no, not too long because of the quality of the content. Keep'em coming and thank you.
I loved the video, it was so personal and very informative. I loved how you have a live demonstration on yourself and as usual gave and honest review. I over you Linwood
Absolutely love the Giovanni 2chic Moisture line! You put me on. Thankkkkk youuuuuuu. I recently re-tried the deep moisture line from the eco collection and it didn’t work for me. I’m happy to return to my 2chic moisture line!
Awwww okay! I tried to go to sleep! Woke up to discover I missed you posting a chitchat on something I deal with!!! My hair is well moisturized, my my scalp is Sahara dry and as thirsty as a few of the commenters! 👀 Sorry, but not sorry! My scalp needed you to tell me all the details on how to address this! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 God bless you and your family, Linwood! God bless the audience too!!!😃😂😃
Just watched another video on willow bark as a natural aspirin. Keep the videos coming. Do the products that claim to help protect the hair from heat (hot rollers, flat irons really work?
Excellent question! I did a full video on the topic, here’s the link so you can scoop all the details 😊❤️ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-C6sFWDd6yp8.html
I stopped buying hairgrease years ago. Im natural. I Recently went back to it. My hair is growing at a different rate. It seems to be a lot stronger and stays moisturized longer.
I just subscribed to you a few weeks ago and even though we have different hair types, your videos are VERY informative and helps me out with future regimens! Thank you so much & I would love to see more videos similar to this one!
Thank you soooo much for this video and introduction of this product. I have the same exact problem to the point where I get patches of flakes. I try to combat the flakes with grease, and oil to the scalp and I swear it makes things worse. I switched to the Shea moisture for High Porosity hair and it helps a little bit but I feel like I need something more. I wear nothing but braids and twists. Thank you again
Shea Moisture products smell heavenly, and leaves my hair feeling soft. Makes me feel sophisticated, but it's a little too pricey. When applying anything..., I usually focus on my scalp and hair ends. Now I know. Your curls are to die for. Thanks for this video. Very informative. BARBADOS!
I absolutely love ❤️ your channel! It’s so informative! Should I use leave in conditioner while I’m in corn rows? I have coarse, 4C, hair, that’s typically very dry.
Your vid is hilarious and very informative! Thank you for that! I was dying when you talk about the Texas heat it was serious when I was back home. Now in Colorado. Weather is great but a dry heat. New sub!!
Nice and neat braids. I haven't attempted to do two braids yet because I feel like I would need a ton of product to weigh it down first or it would be super sloppy because my hair is so thick. You made it look easy though
Hey Linwood! You are spot on with your info! Salicylic Acid is a Beta Hydroxy Acid. Betas are oil soluble so more effective on oily skins. It's also keratolytic so it's dissolving those dead skin cells which are the flakes you see on your scalp. It is also regulating your oil production. Leaving it on a bit longer won't hurt it may dry you out a bit so just couple it with moisture❤️ Certified skincare nerd here 🙋🏽. I love what I do and I can tell you do too. That's why I love love love your channel. Thanks for showing the shedding. Now I can rest assured that I'm not going bald🙄 Cul de sacs. Jesus wept😂😂😂😂😂I CANNOT WITH YOU😂😂. I'm over here cracking up😂😂😂❤️❤️
YASSS! Girl I’m glad leaving it on longer won’t have my scalp gone with the wind! 😂😂 I appreciate you greatly boo! ❤️ Girl I know you know your stuff, that’s exactly why I called you out by name! And look how you showed up and showed out! 🙌🏽 #LookAtGodCominThruForMyCulDeSacs
This video really answered a Question about my Natural before i could BUG u by asking it lol! It was one that has been BOTHERING me for YEARS! IT was y my hair BALLS UP AT THE END? U think U " TALK" TOO MUCH; HECK NO! Linwood I say U ARE " EDUCATING" us. I really APPRECIATE your VIDEOS, they HELP me like U wouldn't BELIEVE! PLEASE CONTINUE HELPING US WITH OUR HAIR PROBLEMS OR HAIR SOLUTIONS! GOD BLESS
Should I use a deep conditioner with some heat for my low porosity natural short gray hair before using the leave-in conditioner. Anxious to try Giovanni products. Thanks great tips!
Awesome vid, great info as well...much appreciated sir!! I may have missed it, but what are your thoughts on castor oil, does it really help with edges?? Btw, good point about reading the ingredients in products!! Love you guys GlamFam
Yes, finally! I know I'm not going crazy; I have an oily flaky scalp! People act like it's not a thing - I knew I wasn't going crazy. I will be ordering that scalp scrub - thanks! Also, you did that braid effortlessly. I'm going to keep practicing cause mines always look a mess smh lol
What would reccomend for dry/itch scalp when your hair is straightened ? My daughter has an extremely dry scalp( but also oily) and I don't know what to use to alleviate it when her natural hair is straightened.
I would properly treat her scalp before straightening. I love using Thayer’s witch hazel on my clients with problematic scalps before I blow dry it out. It’s great because it’s infused with aloe Vera and glycerin to help add long term moisture
Hi Linwood , I thank u 😘 very much for your time and information . Because it becames so helpful. I am a cancer survivor and my hair came out and I had shave my the rest of it off and I cried. So now it has grown back it thinning on the right sides and the top. So what do you subjust I do for that problem?
I would give your body some time to balance out. Nothing about your hair right now is permanent, so long as your hormones and functions are recovering. Your texture may change a couple of times, but give yourself some time to fully recover, and try not to put tension causing styles on your hair
Hi! I love your channel. I was wondering if it was okay to skip conditioner every time you wash because of the way that shampoo and conditioner work together to balance PH levels. Also, is it bad if you use a shampoo from one line and a deep conditioner from another? Could that mess up the PH of one’s hair?
Serena Brunon I often will use differing brands, but I always recommend using conditioner, even if it’s a light weight conditioner. It helps balance the pH back out.
