I have a marble pink YSL large envelope bag, similar color to your finish product and it has some scuffs on the sides, can I dye it just to cover small scuffs? Or do I have to deglaze the whole bag and paint it all? I appreciate your advice. You did a nice job 👍

@@eidnacbautista1121Hi Eidnac, I think you can just paint over the areas that need a touch up.There's no need to to deglaze unless you are changing the color of the bag. If you stay within a similar shade of pink you will be good, just make sure you use leather paint it will seal with a nice shine. 😊

hi, there is slight discoloration/ paint chip on the shoulder strap other than that everything has remained the same. I usually just retouch the strap w. new paint every 5 months. thanks for watching!

hey a suggestion for when your painting area with hardware I would suggest putting tape or masking tape over just to be sure you don't damage the hardware.

Actually leather paint is easily removable from hardware .

Hannah Mae pen is difficult what you can do is buy Angelus acrylic leather painting and you can touch it up ,the paint is incredible it won’t come off just make sure it’s the color you can always mix it up so you get extremely close to the color , I use a cleaning solution whic👍h is commercial cleaning solution made by tide for hotels and it does an excellent job but on the satin inside the bag you can try it on leather but I have not tried it I will get you the exact name of the bottle of tide 👍I have actually painted a doo ney and Bourke using that paint and it looks brand new , I painted the entire bag

@@animalcrackers8880 I used two things for leather cleaning and making the leather have a rebirth Cadillac boot and shoe leather lotion it’s amazing , for paint angelus paint for leather you don’t need anything else 👍❤️

Hi Lin, thanks!! The texture stayed very much the same. I was also surprised. Deglazing the bag is what allowed the texture to remain the same since I removed any wax that sealed the original paint. This allowed the paint to dry evenly.

Hi there! I'm sorry but I don't have much experience with this particular issue or bag repairs really. I wouldn't want to mislead you. I have repainted a few of my purses to make them seem new (which covers scuff marks ) but that's about it.

Hey Beatrice, I had to remove the sound for copyright-related purposes. I showed the entire transformation from beginning to end so you can get an idea of how the paint was applied. I didn't speak much during the video, the only tips I gave were 1) make sure to use acrylic leather paint (link for purchase on description) 2) wait 10-15 minutes before applying the next coat (each coat should be thin so that each layer can dry nicely) the # of coats is all up to you & your liking. I am sorry for the inconvenience. I do have some other purse transformations where I repeat these same tips, it's the same for every process. hope it helps :) Thanks

Hi, in the title I wrote dye as another way of saying paint. With paint you have more control of what parts of the purse you want to color, but with dye you have to let the purse sit in the dye and absorb the color as far as I know. I'm not a paint expert so I don't know what process would be better for your purse but I hope this helps.

I had the same question! Dye will not hide the color underneath but blend rather. Red purse + white dye=pink purse versus red purse + white paint (will sit on top of existing color)= white purse. The angelus website gave me the answer.

how does the paint hold up over tie? For example, if you brush up against a wall, would a chunk of the paint come off?

The Angelus paint doesn't come off with regular use. I painted an old bag black and if I scratch it as hard as I can with my fingernail, nothing comes off. I think you would have to use the deglazer or something similar to get it off. So just don't spill nail polish remover or alcohol on your bag.

Yes, although it is recommended to cover the hardware, perhaps with tape, this was my first paint job, learning from experience, and I highly recommend it.

I know this video is old but if anyone can answer a couple of questions I’ll be grateful! I have a Patricia Nash pink leather tote… my kitten got sick on it and when I cleaned it I it turned bluish like this purse did during the cleaning step. But it’s only on one side and it’s the back so at least I can hide it but I LOVE the bag and want it to look like new. Question ONE: can I just use it on one side or will it be too noticeable… I feel confident I can recreate the color using a few different shades but will it look painted or does it absorb? Question TWO: there’s a weave texture to the leather will the embossing still be visible and look good? From a distance it actually looks woven… I was a little disappointed it wasn’t when I bought it, but in retrospect it’s a good thing because if it was an ACTUALLY woven the bag would have been ruined. Question THREE: how does it feel? Any help and/or suggestions much appreciated!

Hi there! I used rubbing alcohol however I painted another purse recently (prada wallet) it discolored the hardware. I suggest doing some research on the hardware of your bag and using something less concentrated.

Hey, as far as lasting paint on hardware im not sure where you can buy. But there is gold metallic paint could be bought on Amazon or ebay. I have never used it so I'm not sure if it will damage the bag or rub off.

The bag is still in good condition, I used rubbing alcohol for the hardware but I don't recommend it (may see discoloration ) if possible cover hardware with tape.

Hey Amy! It depends on what kind of leather you have. This bag was a softer material and so it soaked up the paint nicely. It would take 15 mins for each layer to dry.

Hi, it should work, the coloring process may be longer though. (A few days ) because you will need many coats of paint to cover the black.

Burberry bags are a bit more difficult because they normally have a much harder material. This bag I painted is made of a softer leather which made it easier for the paint to be absorbed. What might happen if you paint your purse is that the paint could easily be scratched off the bag. I'm not an expert and I wouldn't want to mislead you.

Hi there, in my case it didnt. I used it to remove the original paint and the wax because the purse was sticky. Everything feels fine.
