Just as we abhor antisemitism, we abhor islamaphobia, the way we are repulsed both by fascism and by Communism. What I wish we could focus on is that it is empathy that drives both sides of this debate. When we lose touch with that common ground, the extremists take the microphone.😢

These demonstrators are making the same mistake the anti-Vietnam protestors made: their actions become counter-productive. I marched against the war, but I saw no point in taking actions that would only anger or irritate the public. I think most Americans are sympathetic to the Gazans and believe Netanyahu has approached the war against Hamas badly. Tying up traffic and disrupting classes will not persuade people to your cause.

After Thursday's outburst now it's up to seven violations of the court gag order. At 30 days per violation, that's 210 days in jail so far. Keep it up donnie. So far. Biden served as a Vice President for Two terms (unlike Pence’s single failed term) to a presidency that had proven both successful and universally popular across America. And while Biden has not felt the need to get on twitter every day to boast about his "success" like the guy Pence worked with, the numbers show that Biden has been eminently successful and possibly the most successful Leader that we have had since FDR, and he did all that in his first term. In regards to protests at Columbia and elsewhere, I recommend reading Martin Luther King Jr's, Letter from Birmingham Jail. I think it will give insight into the current protest movements. That said, Anti-Semitism is not OK anywhere, anytime.

Joe, just because you didn't see this level of protest happening with Syria and Iraq, doesn't mean it makes the current protests any less relevant, nor does it make it hypocritical as you seem to imply. Second, Americans tend to protest when it has something to do with their own government. In those instances, civil war and brutal dictator regimes were not supported by actions taken by the U.S. In this instance, Israel's actions are widely seen as be aided and abetted in the form of funding, weapons, and not strong enough actions to pull Israel back from indiscriminate slaughter of civilians.

People must understand that Freedom (freedom of speech and other freedoms) is directly linked to an huge responsibility. People cannot demand freedom by being irresponsible. As we say in Portugal: "My freedom ends where your freedom begins". This means that we are only free if we allow the same freedom to all around us, otherwise it would all boil down to pure anarchy... but it seems that today's America is moving very fast in that direction (anarchy). I don't think Joe understands the nature of protesting. The saying "power concedes, nothing without a demand" is the principle that protest is built onto. If you can't break people's preoccupation with what they're doing in their day to day, you're never going to be able to get them to stop to pay attention to what you're protesting about. I'm sure that Doctor Glaude and Rev Sharpton have explained that to him. But I don't think he understands it because he possibly he never had to do it himself. I'm not criticizing him, but I can tell how uncomfortable he becomes with the ideas of civil disobedience, and public "status quo" disruption as a means.

It's not or shouldn't be anti-Israel. Palestine is functionally part of Israel. It's anti- senseless murder and collective punishment. It's anti- brutalization, colonization and invasion. It's the same reason we should support Ukraine in resisting Russian invasion, but that doesn't make us anti Russia or anti Russian. It's so easy to get twisted in unhelpful ways to deal in teams or groups when really you're just against people being jerks.

These young people are not “brats.” They are young and full of passion, but unfortunately they are also lacking life experience. I would much rather have our youth question and engage in protest over what they perceive to be inequities in the world. I don’t want a nation of automatons. I am grateful for the young people in the world, the future belongs to them, even if I don’t always agree with their opinions.

This sediment. is un democratic as a whole, shame. The right to protest is protected speech. Shaming educators for allowing protests and the opposite of what we should be doing right after promoting pro labor movements in a previous segment. Labor protests are how we have what rights we have as workers. This sucks. Do better
