And she has made Oakland resourceful only for those who are Chinese like her , if you’re not Chinese, & fresh off the boat w an established family , u won’t get ANY help. You’ll be told your paperwork was misplaced and made to wait half a year for any “emergency” benefits. While a whole Chinese family can come here illegally and get every single benefit possible. Oakland really is the worst place to be if you ever become disabled and/or homeless and it’s bc of corrupt politicians like her. If you just happen to be homeless and disabled, may God have mercy on you! But you will see owners/investors of brand new multimillion apartment complexes that are never reaching 50% capacity, receiving tons and tons of tax breaks just for “supplying 2-5 units out of their 100+ unit building for affordable housing” … and don’t forget the blocks and blocks of empty buildings just rotting away bc they’re being auctioned off to the highest bidding developers for yet another useless fancy complex that does absolutely nothing for the community.
