I live in northern BFE Montana. If I drive 10 miles or so outside of town, it is as dark as one could hope for. I am going to get a couple of friends and a 6 pack or 3 and dress very warmly and head out of town. Can't wait. The first time I say the aurora lights was in the winter of '75-'76. I was living in northern Vermont and was driving up to Montreal to see Cat Stevens in concert. After clearing the border (a lot easier back then) as I was driving, I noticed the sky was lit up and thought I must be closer to Montreal than I thought. Then it hit me what I was seeing and had to pull over to gawk. Growing up in Pennsylvania, all we might see was whitish streaks in the northern sky, but what I saw that night was BRILLIANT, VIBRANT COLORS. What an experience. A GREAT light show and an even GREATER concert. Hope it is as colorful as I remember and our weather is clear and cold.
I know it sounds crazy, but I think magnetic storms affect human behavior too. On Friday, December 1st I suffered from an episode of extreme anger, frustration, and fear. Yet there was no event that had happened that day that could have caused me to feel that way. I was well-rested, ate a full breakfast that morning, and nothing was out of the ordinary. It felt so odd to have these crazy emotions out of the blue. I started thinking maybe I have bipolar or something, but I've never had symptoms before so why now all the sudden? Then that night I began having an intense migraine, around 5pm-ish I think? I was also insanely tired, unusually so. Even with doing very little I was getting worn out. But now it's December 3rd and I was curious about the solar storms so I did a bit of research. Some article from Ukraine MSN basically listed ALL of the symptoms I was specifically having on December 1st and said (paraphrasing) "you'll have these symptoms if a solar storm is intense". They even had a chart that showed the intensity of the storms on every day from today to November 29... and the worst day for the magnetic storm, or K-7 intensity as they called it, was on December 1st. It's a little weird isn't it???? Like, that can't be normal, right? It's terrifying to think that my emotions can be puppeteered by the rays of the sun
I believe you. Ironically, on Friday night there was an intense fight on the street near my house. People (maybe late 20s) were fighting in the street, screaming and shouting. They could've had beef with each other before Friday, but for them they went nuts on Friday.
Same, I AM bipolar, and Friday, me and my family got into a horrible argument. Though it isn't unusual for us to scream and shout when we are emotional, me and my dad were a little unchained. It felt foreign when it was happening. Almost forced, yet, I didn't have the control I normally had.
This happens frequently 💞 The blast sends particles to the core of the earth sending a resounding bong through the magnetic fields. This causes the big quakes like what happened recently. It also brought tremendous vibrations.

Every time an astronomical event happens I happen to miss it because it’s always cloudy. Ive misses the green comet, the second comet that will never see again and now the auroras in the US.
I flew to Israel to see a blood red moon. I flew to Finland to see their northern lights. I drove from BC to Alberta 10 hours to buy a donut at the IGA food store. I flew to Peru and travelled in a 3rd class train to see fireflies at the base of Machu Pichu. I flew to Kuala Lumpur to go up the needle tower to see a lightning storm then the next day I flew to Sydney Australia to go up their needle tower. Life is short. Do stuff.

The level is rare, but the phenomenon is not rare. Odd they don’t mention any of this on the news given it knocks out power grids and cell towers, causes underground lightning (what actually happened in CA and HA)

This is what confused me! When I looked it up, it said it's something that happens regularly. And always has. Maybe not this scale, but the sun has its own solar cycles and this is part of it. I'm confused as to why people are being misinformed, though I know the public are suckets for a bit of good old fashioned scaremongering 😂
Sometime around 1970 +/- a few years or so, I saw the distinctive green of the Northern Lights spread out on the distant northern horizon from a mountain in the U.S. at about 33 degrees N latitude. It was visible for perhaps 30 minutes.

I went to take out trash and the garage door closed automatically, so I thought I was locked out for about four hours. I had no phone to call to tell my husband to come home. All the windows were locked, so I remained calm to think of what next, I was ashamed of what the neighbors would think if I asked to use their phone because I couldn't remember my husband's new phone #."That was embarrassing" Eventually, I got a breakthrough (A light bulb moment) we had a keyless lock that had a code to open the front door. I felt stuck for hours unable to remember... Something definitely shifted as if my mind was hijacked. 😣😣🤗

I wish they would, as well as with particle forcing. But I can see why they wouldn't, as there isn't anything they can do to stop it and it would cause panic. But, the news is good at causing panic anyways so.. Yeah, no idea why there's very little coverage on the multiple excursions, current field loss, Miyake events and Carrington events. Also, those nova isotopes in sediments in earth are interesting and those glass pinballs on the moon.

The southern lights are spectacular at the moment, unfortunately I have not been able to view them,because for the last two weeks we've had a lot of cloud cover. Family in Australia have been watching them or a week or so, with some of the photos they have been sending me. They tend to be not only green and yellow but crimson and dark red amazing. So I'm hoping to get to see some of it before it disappears.

the 'event' most certainly affects human behavior and may be the que for the shooters to go on rampages for unknown reasons, this would explain why someone does something off the wall. It would also explain why someone who grew up in a different magnetic field area and moved to a higher or lower magnetic field area started acting differently, thinking differently, 'lighting up' or 'dumbing down' thought patterns

NOAA..could you please post these videos ahead of time so we can actually get a chance to maybe go out and see the auroras? This video says it was posted around 12/1 but on the video the time frame given was Sept, way after the fact. Considering that there was another CME on 12/1, an even bigger one than in Sept. more people could view it if they had known about it. Good video. Good info overall.
What really is sad is the light pollution from all of the lights in the city defusing the Arora and the stars. Then if we hit hard enough and its a clear sky then the lights go out showing the Arora. But what come next worries me.
At least the few who might be unlucky enough to survive, as geologically when these happened last it happened in literally an instant. The chance of this happening is once every 23-26,000 years and then not every time within that wide cycle. If that happened, likely every super volcano would erupt during the switch. This is why they are able to dig up wooly mammoths in the north pole with food in their mouths and digestive systems from warmer areas of the planet.

I remember when i was about 6 years old, my dad showed me the northern lights from our ranch in Southern Idaho. Curious, I recently checked to see if there was a solar storm around then. Sure enough, February 1956 there was a big one!
Read about this many many years ago from family ordered monthly copy of this National Geographic. It's also in our Family Britinanica Encyclopedia. I delve into them at age 10 onwards as l was very curious to know what's happening with our universe.
Between 1859 and 2003 auroras were witnessed at low latitudes 9 times. That's 9 times in 144 years. Just this year, 2003, there have been 7 low latitude aurora events. The solar flares are not getting bigger, they just impact earth more as the earths magnetic field weakens. It would not even take a Carrington level event (1859) to completely destroy every electrical grid on the planet now.
We've had nearly 70 years to get our power grids underground, and under control. If/when we get hit with another Carrington event, or worse, it's gonna get ugly. We are all so vulnerable and dependant on electricity, just imagine no power for months. Nowhere...
Now the power companies can keep the lights on and monitor what is coming in.. shutting down beforehand. Only thing that would knock it out is something up in the x 100 + class so it will have to be life changing. If that hits you better hide cause it won’t be coming back on
If you have to take a flight in the next few days, you might want to rebook it while you can! It may be nothing, true, but on the other hand, why chance it?

Just kind of seems a bit misleading. First off we get hit with solar eruptions quite regularly if you take a look at NOAA you'll see that we've had quite a few. Second, with the speeds that the solar eruptions move, even some of the slowest ones get here in about a week. So announcing that one just occurred and everybody should get ready for it and given the time period this was released, I don't quite see the solar eruption everyone should have been waiting for. We did have a couple of week X-Class flares last month, that is true. But we see those quite regularly, and really until they get up to X3 or above, The Earth handles it pretty well. However, given the weakening of the earth's magnetic field, even the weaker storms are having a more profound impact, that is true. This is why we see lower latitude auroras more frequently. I might also suggest using more proportionate graphics. The graphics you use in this video are still out of proportion as to perhaps create misinterpretations.
Damn it,…..I’m in Ireland, I got up….a beautiful sunrise but no Aurora, as it was bright by the time it was going to hit here. So we missed it by maybe few hours. Although I did see some birds going crazy this morning predawn.

This storm tonight is G3. Carrington was estimated G5 as they didn't have that tech back then. But we now have GPS, cell phones, etc. that rely on satellite signals. BPEarthwatch has been tracking this storm and has links to world wide live webcam streams for auroras.
BPEarthwatch says USA 1am eastern time 2am central time and lasts few hours. The sun facing side of earth will get the brunt of it when people wake up. Hopefully it will come to nothing.

I find it amazing that no one has done studies on the affects of magnetism and gravitational differences on the human brain in different locations on the planet. states with less active thinking or more easily swayed, violent tendencies in hot climatic areas, people eating blubber in extreme cold, weird but true. The birds and insects use the magnetic fields for navigation so how will these sun and planetary alterations affect bird migration and pollination processes of insects?
Migratory animals simply go the wrong direction. I remember seeing cranes and geese flying ENE in 2014 when they normally would have been going NNW. I guessed that their internal directions were distorted and now it sounds like they were, by the strong sun spots at that time.
Yes. The sun goes thru solar cycles on average if every 11 years. Currently, we are on the up-swing of cycle 25. These solar cycles also can enhance, or interfere with radio (and electronic) communications. Being I'm a amateur radio (ham) operator, I find it fascinating. Hope this helps.😊.

I am also a amateur radio operator & when these cycles would be going on we could talk around the World with the SKIP! I then lived in St Louis back in 1957 at 11yrs old & a Novice Class License, later that year to get a Technician Class License, & then shortly thereafter my General Class License! Now at 77yrs of age I live in Sarasota, Florida since 1986 & no longer have my equipment or License! My call sign was W0DCN! So as a Novice it was WN0DCN, the third digit would have a diagonal line thru it showing it was a zero & not a letter! My bad house fire in St Louis destroyed all my Collins Gear & much of my own home brew equipment! But we could tell when the Solar Storms where happening, nobody on TV would be saying anything about it, but us Radio Amateurs knew what was happening!
