@HellbirdIV
@HellbirdIV Год назад
If anybody's wondering why the Russians keep attacking the exact same obvious spot, it's because it is in fact a chokepoint - going around it simply isn't possible. The long grassy lines on either side of the chokepoint are deep dikes filled with water and heavy brush. Not too difficult for a person to cross, but a tank will take a nosedive and get stuck without bridging equipment, and there's no way they can set up even a partial bridge faster than the Ukrainians can aim a hoiwitzer or missile at them. The ground on the sides of the road is also visibly cratered and wet, meaning it is very muddy and swampy terrain, were tanks are likely to quickly bog down and, once again, get targeted with Ukrainian artillery. So rushing down the central road and trying to make it through the chokepoint is the least bad choice out of a lot of terrible options. Of course, the correct choice would be to give up taking this particular chokepoint, but something tells me Russian commanders are too scared of their bald leaders to refuse dumb orders.

The most logical "donation" to this conflict would be for the U.S. to give Ukraine all of the A-10s in the arsenal. The U.S has made it clear that the Warthogs will not be used now or in the future - due in part to the fact that they are (relatively) slow - and are susceptible to SAMs. However, by giving these planes to Ukraine, there is a good chance that the defenders will make good use of them - even if it is only for a short time. I would say that the amount of damage they could do in the short term, might be a deciding factor in turning the Russian forces on their heels and into a retreat. It will be a sight to make them "soil their shorts" as they run away !

The Russian army has fundamental problems. Let's examine the competence of soldiers. There are 21-year-old tank Russian commanders. He is not trained nor has requisite experience. The American tank commanders will have around 7 years under their belts and are superb at tactics, maintenance, and technical skills. They know the Tactical Standard Operating Procedures (TACSOP) like the back of their hand. This is significantly relevant because the pace of tanking is often fast. There is little time to think about the proper formations and various reactions to contact from enemy direct and indirect fires. The disparity between the Russian 21-year-old tank commander and the US tank commander is significant. Case in point is the Russian tankers attacked in column formations. This is absolutely a cardinal sin because the Ukrainians were able to mass fires on columns of tanks. It is problematic in the distribution of Russian tank fire patterns. The lead tank can shoot at the 12 o'clock, but the rest of the tanks can't do that. An army can have the best weapons systems, but the weapons systems become moot if the soldiers are incompetent.

Maybe you misunderstood Russia strategy. From february to Summer Russia intended to bring Ukraine to the table and it worked: 4 meetings, last one in May. Then NATO ordered Kiev to terminate those meetings and fight or no help or assistance will be provided to them. We under-estimated Russian forces. In 2023, Russia mobilize more soldiers and came back in full force. The outcome no one can deny. Slow but stead gain. Ukraine stands no chance of winning this war,. It is doomed and its army is finished.

If at first you don't succeed: try, try again. "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." - not Albert Einstein Different versions of this quote appear everywhere (doing the same thing twice, expecting the same result, etc.), and we owe none of them to Einstein. After Michael Becker, an editor at the Bozeman Daily Chronicle (a local paper in Montana), let the wrong version slide into an editorial, he did some research on his personal blog. Becker traced the original back to Rita Mae Brown, the mystery novelist. In her 1983 book "Sudden Death," she attributes the quote to a fictional "Jane Fulton," writing, "Unfortunately, Susan didn’t remember what Jane Fulton once said. 'Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.'"

@@cdfdesantis699 Are you aware that it is almost universally impossible to prove a negative? I also can't prove that Einstein never said "my cousin Cleopatra"... it it, too, is massively unlikely. There are no known contemporaneous citations (many have researched this.) Also, it is goofy: acquiring a variety of skills require doing the same thing over again, expecting different results. Einstein would also likely have been aware that sometimes an action might not be successful, but repetition eventually change conditions so as to achieve the desired result. Think: battering ram.

WHY THEY KEEP DOING IT (EXPLANATION): In Russia, the troops will be put in prison with rotting (literally rotten) 1 daily portion of food that they need to share with 2-5 other cellmates, in 1 cell, with only a bucket for a toilet and tortured -- or possibly just executed -- if they disagree with an order. So if the order came from a top general to "take a certain piece of land" then they must agree (even the commanding officer must agree). So they have no choice. In some way, its very pitiful. I dont think these Russians want to be there. Only Putin and some old men want to be there. Thats why hundreds of thousands of Russians left Russia when the war began (to avoid being drafted), and its why others are breaking their own bones to avoid being sent to war. Also their higher-ups do not share intelligence with the lowers. So the troops don't even realize they are going into a trap. Even if the higher up knows it. Its called "the meat grinder." Basically Putin is trying to deplete Ukrainian bullets and landmines by throwing infinite men at them. Eventually Russians will absorb all the mines and bullets. And then Putins goal is to use the Russians that survived to move in. Its a strategy where Putin does not value his own troops lives. He only cares about land which connects to strategic locations. The biggest threat in Russia is if the troops decide to turn their weapons on Putin himself -- that is why its illegal to criticize Putin in Russia.

The irony is that the so-called mistake was actually Russia’s best way to move across the battlefield. At 1:19, you can see the fields on both sides of the roads is filled with craters. Those are exploded mines. Now, imagine how many more unexploded mines are there. Western media never talks about Ukraine’s massive use of landmines. Russia is responding by deploying mine-clearing vehicles in front of its armored convoys. In return, Ukraine is responding by using artillery to target the convoys as they move along a line, as it happened in this case. Another overlooked fact is Ukraine’s use of “scatterable mine” artillery shells that scatters landmine over an area. Ukraine uses these kinds of artillery to redistribute landmines to areas Russia has cleared of mines. So Russia clears an area of mines, its troops move in, and then Ukraine uses artillery to distribute more mines in the area.
