meg it will probably be more cheaper, less malpractice insurance to cover, less salaries to pay.... Instead of three or four surgeons, one can oversee while a robot can do the work, without the risk of fatigue or human jitter errors.

@@Noctisola That's not how a surgical robot works. A real surgeon has to do everything remotely. The reason why this tech exist is because it is more precise that a regular hand and have a much lower infection risk!

They are here now. My friend just had robotic surgery to remove a cancerous prostate and he was in and out of the hospital in 24 hours. The robot was so precise that the incisions are virtually invisible. The future is here now.

These aren't "robots" as in some sort of autonomous mechanical machine. These are basically more nimble hands and tools for a surgeon to control. Truly automated machinery to do complex surgeries are a few years out but coming sooner than you think.

the actual surgeon is there. Keep in mind they get tired/fatigued performing too many ops in a day/night before. They are human. Even the top tier plastic surgeons have revision rates due to possibly fatigue....or some human factor (when in fact they are the best). The robots guided by a top surgeon can reduce risk/revision to basically nothing. They are so precise and don't shake/wobble or get stressed that the results are nothing like we have ever seen.

@@sirus312 Hellooo?? The robot doesn't work on its own. It's the stressed and tired human how's doing the procedure. It's just money making effort for the hospitals and not for us patients. Keep in mind: money comes first, not humanity. Sadly but true
