The weather has been so crazy here in California. Floods and strong winds. I saw a tree fall right outside my house. There are potholes everywhere because of how much it has rain.

I left California just three years ago after almost 4 decades. In my 31 years in Los Angeles and 6 in SF I've never seen anything like that. I guess my timing was pretty good.

I live in Bakersfield I've never heard of a tornado here or in California 😮 before..prayers to those in LA right now 🙏🙏

Did anyone else think about The Day After Tomorrow while watching this news story?

Supposedly there was also a small tornado yesterday in Carpinteria, CA. This is about 90 minutes north of LA.

Tornadoes, while not a regular occurrence in California, is a weather phenomenon that can appear in the state, specifically in Northern California. The area where they can occur is from just north of Merced all the way to Redding, encompassing the greater Sacramento region, Chico, and other cities in Central California. According to the National Weather Service, California averages around 11 tornadoes a year and they usually occur in the fall or spring. A significant tornado outbreak sequence took place on March 1, 1983 in South Central Los Angeles The tornado commenced around 7:40 AM during commute time in the Los Angeles Neighborhood of South Park. The tornado traveled north towards USC, narrowly missing the campus, and continued northbound towards iconic Los Angeles buildings. The tornado dissipated at the Los Angeles Convention Center, which took heavy damage and served as a line of defense for some skyscrapers. At least 30 people were injured, and 150 buildings were damaged. While local news media stated that nine people were killed, official records listed no fatalities for this tornado.

And next week rain every day. Six months straight of rain and counting. NEVER in my 47 years in CA has this happened before

I remember the tornado that hit LA back in 1982 or 83, it was pretty strong, we've had these before and will have them again.

What!!!! I live in Texas now but Im born and raised in Railto California and i have never witnessed a tornado EVER in my life in California. We got pretty used to small earthquakes but never a tornado this is getting super weird

I know it's crazy I get it's terrifying but this is our planet's way of replenishing all the water that you're particular region lost over the last several years. I know that impacts humans and it's hard to understand it, but this is what our planet has done for thousands of years. We just happen to have houses, property, buildings, and other life structures in the way of what our planet does on a natural basis. I pray for everyone involved and I hope that they are safe and OK. And please understand your planet and your history to fully understand. 🙏❤
