A pod of orca whales played a game of chase with a fishing boat. The fishermen were off the coast of San Diego, California at dawn when they spotted the killer whales heading for their boat. #InsideEdition
I know right. I never understood why people aren't more scared of them. They're not 'cute'. They're possibly the smartest and biggest apex predator on planet earth.
1 or 30, what's the difference? It would be scary in any case. Until I confirmed the comment here that no wild orca has ever harmed a human. Of course, they could possibly overturn the boat?
Dale Kelly probably true only because of the amount of people that have been in a situation where that can happen. It’s wild, I’m sure if it saw you in the water and was hungry your time would be up.
Although there has never been a documented case of an Orca killing a human in the wild, I'm sure my heart would be racing out of excitement and caution.
Me too, I mean I love them, but man... 30 Orcas (he said that many, right?) swimming alongside you and your boat.... That's too much for me jajajajaja.
Actually scientists have concluded the only reason dolphins surf in waves and wake and jump in the air is purely for the fun of it. I wouldn’t be surprised if Orca whales had similar behavior patterns.
@@kdburner7356 but they weren't minding the men (wich would be their "prey" in this case) seeing them, they went out of the water and spinned inside it without caring about them seeing it or about "being scary"
@@robertjensen9775wow someone just looking to be a internet troll aren’t they? You know damn well what sea world does is not a good thing. Zoo’s or any other organization that would cage wild animals should be shut down.
I agree, let's shut down all conservation organizations not just SeaWorld. But Disney's Animal Kingdom and Clearwater Marine Aquarium should be the first to go. Followed by Busch Gardens and Lowery Park. I'm sure wannabe armchair marine biologist on SM will be more than happy to take time away from their phones to pick up the slack left behind to care for Florida's eco system...
They have been sometimes it depends if a member of an orca pod gets injuried by a boat or not. In Spain a member of a large pod got injured by a sail boat. After that the pod started to attack sailing boats.
My dad and I used to go fishing a lot. In a little ex-trawler that could accommodate 8 anglers on a day trip. The whales and dolphins would often follow us like this. They're hanging out. Dad used to swear that the good fishing days always coincided with these outings with them. They'd follow our boat in almost to the mouth of the harbour. Like they were celebrating with us - that we'd had a good catch. Kind of a salute from one lot of fisherfolk to another.
Jesse Hall haha that made me crack up man i mean killer whale the word itself is pretty self-explanatory imo^^ o yea they just want to swim with ya jump in lol
It’s amazing how effortlessly they can keep up with such a fast boat. (Surely not quick compared to other things they can swim with). They were probably having fun playing with the bubbles and the wake the boat was making :)
They came from dolphin family, so 99% May be they're surfing, enjoying the waves and may be also training for hunting...as they got boat as simulator 😁
This is what fun those poor sea world orcas should be able to have, not swimming laps and being depressed from lack of activity in an empty tank with nothing to do. Such beautiful animals
Sea World is still open, they just took the orcas out of their San Diego location but the rest of the sea life is still there. The Orlando location still has orcas as far as I know.
DIONNE FRANCIS-BROWN These fishermen weren't being hunted... if that were the case, they would have been orca-food, and there'd be no evidence left to implicate the orcas! Orcas, just like their smaller cousins (dolphins & porpoises) love to play in boat wakes, and to pace/"race" boats!
The boat streams the water , thus making it easy to swim for them , lot less traction, just like dolphins do near boats. Flocks of geese always fly in " spear tip " formation for the same reason , occasionally changing the leader who tires the most. Check out " orca approaches a swimmer in NZ " here on YT
People: oh look their swimming along side us! The Orcas: please stop hoomans! We would like to talk to you for a moment about our lord and saviour, Jesus Christ!
Yeah, like their smaller cousins, (Porpoises), they probably like to body - surf, on boat wakes or bow waves. Just hope they don't get hurt by prop blades. NOT a fun way to get HURT !
These two beat me in the bravery department, that is, in this scenario, (...you think maybe it's because I can't swim?...lol). This is simply AMAZING footage! Mother Nature is indeed awesome! Everyone, make sure you give a couple bucks to LEGIT organizations that really make an effort to keep our Oceans clean. Thanks for sharing.
"Dispatch, Orca-36, I've got a high speed craft, refusing to pull over, in pursuit..." "10-4 Orca-36, sending you back up, Orca-35, Orca-37, respond to Orca-36's 20" "Orca-35, copy" "Orca-37, copy"
oracs behave like cats sometimes jumping on any occasion to improve their hunting skills ! it s a play and a practice at the same time ! those fishermen were not in danger
@@vikingsmb These things can move twice as fast as the average fishing boat. These people aren't getting away without being on something like a hydroplane.
I think if they were actually chasing the boat those fishermen wouldn’t have made it back, but the title got me to click! Those orcas were just having fun like when you race another car from the stoplight.
