Very nice! I really like the progression in the game, and how Lueur is a tutorial narrator. The event system is really cool too - curious to see how choices you make affects the gameplay later on
Alot of these games have a kind of ecological theme of an encroaching darkness you have to plan against. I think this generation of devs have become more environmentally conscious as themes of ecology/pollution and corruption are in a lot of these city builders (also factorio) now. Against the Storm has a pollution mechanic when you utilize the rainwater, it spawns fungus that slowly destroys your town center. A similiarity is that theres a dichotomy between how rampant you want your city to expand, and how much the environment is going to fight back and limit you, here in a similiar manner your growth is limited by how much you have to invest in the shadow fighting back. We are no longer in a closed Simcity system, we are in a living world that is resisting our prescence. Even Loop Hero has you building a city!
