The Halluci Nation knows how to amp up a crowd and get people moving. They've been doing it since 2007, back when they were known as A Tribe Called Red and hosting their Electric Pow Wow gatherings at Babylon in Ottawa. Their distinct blend of drumming and vocal chanting mixed with hip hop, dubstep, trap, reggae and more made for electrifying moments on the dance floor. Their 2021 album, One More Saturday Night, is a love letter to those club nights, and although the parties ended in 2017, members Ehren "Bear Witness" Thomas and Tim "2oolman" Hill can't help but keep reminiscing about the old days. Now, you're more likely to see them play big stages at international festivals, making the opening night of TD Music Hall in Toronto on Feb 10 a perfect opportunity for them to head back to their roots. They played throwback bangers like "Electric Pow Wow Drum" and "Sisters" featuring Northern Voice, as well as newer cuts from their most recent album. The room was buzzing with excitement, and that's how the Halluci Nation likes it. Getting to be closer to the crowd and really feed off their energy is something they only get at these more intimate shows - as Hill puts it "We're all together, in sync."
