It's like watching a full grown man race against high school boys... he's in a class of his own. I'm more impressed with Geraint Thomas. That guy was winning world championships and gold medals 16 YEARS ago... and HE's the 3rd man on Pog's wheel when he attacks with less than 4k to go??? Wow. Talk about a competitor.
Only one other human in the world can go with Pogi, and we may not see him in the Tour this year. Great shout out to Thomas by the way, he's been near the top for a long time, impressive.
@@ShimmyD-u7g Yeah, it's so crazy how ONE crash in such a MINOR race (Basque) can change the face of racing for an entire season... maybe even forever. But it's great for all the "unknown" riders (aka not superstars) who have / are / will win stages and races this season that never would have had it not been for that crazy crash.
to be fair except for pog and thomas the field in this giro is made up of third tier GC riders at best. outside of those two, only chaves and bardet have even podiumed a GT, and they are both far from their heyday
@@pnkdrmz But there are always new up and comers that can surprise you. Look at Sepp Kuss in last year's Vuelta. I don't think anybody would have predicted that. The competition at the top of pro cycling today is by far the fiercest and strongest it has ever been. That's what makes Pog's dominance so shocking and exciting--and his rivalry with Jonas so fun to watch. All it would take is one bad crash for Tadej and someone completely unexpected could win the Giro GC this year.
its crazy that Pogi's strava hours per week isnt that much compared to other pro riders that have stacked strava hours but still he can still win a stage when he wants to..insane power
he's a genetic freak with all that modern Ferrari's can offer as a top up. Van Der Peel would beat most into a pulp if cycling was about individual talent alone. Tom Pidcock has great all round cycling ability. Peter Sagan possibly inspired a degree of cross cycling potential . Wout van Aert another stunner.
@@bostjanhribersek1205, of course it’s over… if you are Pogi’s friend, you should know it. Only if something unexpected happens, and Pogi has no influence about it… could be 100 of reasons, but nothing to do with cycling.
He was attacking like this in the last two tours. When Jonas put the hammer down on him on the longer and steep climbs dropping him all of a sudden his fans went into overdrive with excuses O he has not recovered from his crash at LBL. All lies he came into the Tour 100%
Day 2 let’s see how it goes in the coming weeks. Simon Yates was doing all he wanted in the Giro and then spectacularly hit empty. I know Pog is great but it’s day 2.
12 race days 8 wins a GC , strade win, liege win , 2 -2 nd places 3rd in san remo and bunch sprint in catalunya....no lower than 3rd in any stage contested in may already hes the generational hinault, gimondi, merckx, coppi, bartali, anquetil, bobet, of our generation...wait until prati di tivo its explosive climb he smashed i tirreno 2021. He was only 21 then hes entering manhood he will have no weakness by 28-30 years old as his sprint will be borderline field worthy. MSR not sure its so hard to control now a days because everyone can climb but roubaix he will win. VDP an win liege without a remcco or tadej but can anyone win all 5 Tadej is much mor likely but VDP will likely add Olympic gold this year too and tadej already has silver from tokyo but silver aint gold. We are spoiled right now Saga was revelation there are several riders who possess that all around ability of sagan not saying better but whole group mads, wout, laporte, VDP, Jasoer, Tadej is the sagan GC version as peter won 3 worlds roubaix, flanders ghent, BP, and stage race tour of california on top mt baldy against allaphillipe thats freakish. Tadej winning GT's and then Falnders almost as debutant and theh record speed second attempt equally freakish along with strade
@@alpsalish Hes using something. Been calling it for ages. He is on something new, they they do not test for. Been watching cycling too long, its like a repeat
He's playing by the same rules as everyone else. Or do you think the Giro organizers want the GC race to be over in the first week, and told everyone else to hold back?
