Well detailed, it’s just the same as practicing in a nursing home in Ireland the difference is that all the documentations are done on computers and tablets even the ones of the health care assistants. Thanks for sharing your day at work, quite interesting!

You dont need to have a nursing home experience but some employers ask for at least one year experience in a care setting which can be a hospital or health care centre. There are equipments e.g a hoist that help in lifting the residents up, you will be trained in moving and handling before attempting to use the equipments so you dont hurt your back.

You seem nice and helpful.Unfortunately most of the nurses hardly help to the carers. Hard work,iv done with it for life🙏

Hello dear, I watched your video on pros and cons of working with nhs or nursing homes. I’ve been offered a job with the NHS but it’s very far from where my husband, daughter and I are gonna live. But will also have an interview with a nursing home tomorrow which is very very close to my husbands place. I am a returning to practice nurse and I don’t have extensive nursing experience before I will come to work as a nurse in the UK. I am aware that nursing skills in the nursing home would be hard for me to get and I’d be better off with nhs in terms of training and development. As I am thinking it’s ideal to be near my two year old daughter and husband I’m thinking of taking the carehome job so I am wondering if later, I could still get a job with the NHs when my daughter is grown already. I need your insight on this. Thank you.
