Air hammer be like “look at me, I’m the Allen key” 😂😂😂 Big props to Cam for letting Carson take over, hard to find people who rather have the apprentice learn than to get the job done quick. My boss was like that with me when I started working for him 👌🏽
gosh this video couldn't have come at a better time than my final semester for trade school. we have been taking tracks off and taking apart old final drives for the last week and a half. Fantastic content as always. Cam, Carson, Brandon ya'll are the best! :)
A little tip a fella taught me spray contact cleaner on the dual cone seal rubber right as you put it on and it will shrink it a bit and make it easy as to put on then once the contact clean dries it expands, helped me out so much!
Just pulled a final drive off of a lamtrac yesterday, learned how because of the last video, boss was pleasantly surprised when he showed and and it was ready to come up, next gotta pull it apart
my favorite content :D so happy to see you Cam and Carson ! i'm saddly out of hd mechanic life for a while, cos last week while i was driving to work some douchebag without license crashed into my car, and now i have to heal my broken foot and ribs :( but i'm probably going to use this time into learning more can electronics and fixing those, so no time wasted. keep up the greatest content in youtube 👌💪
I am sure you already know about them, but sometimes left handed drill bits surprise me! Give'em a shot next time you have to drill out bolts. Great video Cam & Carson! 👍😁
You could also try using a torx socket thats oversized and smash it into the screw, thats usually what we did. Obviously not good for the sockets but it does a good job.
Hey guys! We'll all be at ConExpo 2023 from March 14-18th. Come say hi and meet us! We'll have merch to give away. Send us an email at media@tekamohd.com with job pics too and we can try to set up times. Also if you're local and want to do a truck tour let us know.
Loving these vids. Just finished my Heavy Vehicle Mechanic apprenticeship in Australia. Tekamo is a serious contender to knock old uncle bumble fuck from my no.1 RU-vid channel ranking
It’s part of being a tradesman and business owner is having to teach your apprentice the correct way to do things When he’s ready to go out on his own then the money will be made
Do you guys not heat your bearings up to install? Have you found that tapping them in causes damage, even when tapping on the inner race of the bearing.
I see you had a couple Ryobi’s. Any good? Wondering how they hold up. Thx for another informative and funny video. I enjoyed it. I won’t be at the ConExpo. How else can I get merch? Going to check to see if you guys sell it. Cheers. Watching from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 🎉😊
We'll have a video out for the Ryobi stuff once we're done testing it out. As for merch, we don't currently sell it so send us an email at media@tekamohd.com and mention this comment thanks.
@@TekamoHD yup full show you betcha! Going with a friend of mine from Edmonton and he works on cat equipment. Should be a good time. I’m excited to see the big bud tractor that was just released to be shown at the event. If you don’t know big bud tractors it’s worth looking into. It’ll be something to see!!
Rule of thumb I always use is a fist of sag. Lift the track off the Ground and between the bottom roller and the chain you should be able to fit your fist (measuring at the center of the track, where the most sag will be). Around 6-7 inches in between the very bottom of the roller and the top of the track chain.
Try equipment rental companies most are willing to hire and give apprenticeship especially for people who want to enter the trade. They’re a pretty good places because their shops are decently equipped, they have various machines and multiple of the same models, so there are margins for learning stuff.
I get you have to be there and you can see they get along and cam likes him bit I get so nervous when my boss just watches me and I mess up or forget to do the simplest things when I am being watched
I hate Allen heads. Just extracted the 2nd stripped level plug on my excavators final today. Happened on the other side last year. Pain in the ass. Luckily my harbor freight extractor set made quick work of removing it.
I see what you're saying, but that's cause they buff both faces before install. Sprockets sometimes also sit deeper one way than the other so it'll be misaligned by an inch or so if backwards.
