Update regarding issues: 1. They are including o-rings with every gun that fixes the barrel wobble issue - I must have thrown out mine during the unboxing. 2. Just received the Action Army magazine and it works great! You will likely need to sand the latch hole on the magazine a super tiny bit, but it fits and feeds great! It also fixed the issue of magazine sticking out! Keep in mind - another guy on the SSG96 group reported that for him it was a very tight fit for the AA magazines, but replacing the latch with Action Army one fixed the issue for him. 3. For magazine sticking out - they are aware of the issue but there is no official fix for them as of right now. The Action Army magazine doesn't have this issue on my SSG96.

@@fjjwfp7819 I can aggree - the action army mag sits much nicer in the gun but it also has much tighter fit near the bottom. It's not sticking out at all. But sure, on SSG24 this is a slight problem.
@@butcher6939 I've played a ton with SSG24 and SSG10 and I know their guts inside out. It's a tried and true recipe at this point - there is very little that's different so the only difference is in how the gun feels and all the small details I tried to cover. Also, keep in mind that there's a lockdown, so games are not really an option for most people anyways.

This is legit the best ssg96 review i have seen (and i have seen a bunch.) Keep up videos with this amount of quality and i am sure you can get a ton of subs.
What to buy after? 1. If you what to use a silencer, buy the short outer barrel since with the stock length is huge 2. Buy the Action Army magazines and mag catch... 40 bbs instead of 20, lot better quality abs than the plastic novritch material, and with the mag catch it fox the magazine poping out issue 3. Now finally we have the TDC pro by tridos available for this gun... If you can afford it buy it... If not tridos have a steel hop arm which is a MUST since the plastic hop arm is the biggest thing that sucks of this gun Pd: and get the tridos thumbscrews for the face rest... This way you complete the look
I am in the "Liking the Light Weight Gun" category too. I have the SSG24 and the weight is not bad, but compared to my VSR10 compatible I have, it is a beast. I would love to get a SSG10 A1 as I heard it is lightweight and shoots decent. Might be my next snag when I get some cash.
the reason why a lot of the parts arent the same material is because for him to make the prices cheaper and cheaper to make, he has to bring down the quality a tiny bit
You can always say that but thos "70$" is a difference between cheap shit and pretty good gun. And the nylon reinforced stock is significantly better than those on any of the cheap L96's.

Excellent review!! Ive been pondering an SSG10 for a while untill coming across the SSG96 and to be honest, nothing you've said here will put me off but its noce to be informed.. I'm changing from an ICS long barrel DMR so the weight will actually be less for me. Thankyou :)
This is actually exact copy legendary Maruzen APS Type 96 and a lot of quality spare parts were available for over 15 years already. Laylax or PDI for example. But this rifle is probably better for its money because Maruzen shot only about 100m/s and you had to change all the spare parts for it to shoot at least 170m/s which again would cost more than the rifle itself (in total easily over 1000€).
BEFORE BUYING from Novritsch, keep in mind the pure support you are going to get. But It's good to know tridos.design existed and solving NovritSchmaltz issues.

that's like saying a Lamborghini is a Civic with fancy parts. I have an MB-01 and it's not even in the same league as the SSG96 without spending 300-400 on upgrades and hours of my time fine tuning it.
I’m just getting into airsoft and I wanted a good sniper rifle, imma use the 220M spring. I just got 4 clips instead of a speed loader as well as Military gear and a couple other guns.
I just picked up the SSG96/Sv-98 craftsman bundle and I'm liking even more than I thought I would. Working better than my tuned SSG10A2, which surprised me, and the quick change spring feature is super nice. Your SSP18 mag adapter has been so helpful, so i was glad to be reminded of your products for my 96. About to pick up some mags and the adapter. Question - my SV98 stock is currently unusable because the back of the Nov magazine doesnt catch. Is there a better chance of the AA mags working with it? Also, I was hoping to get the TDC kit, but it appears you are revamping it. Next time then! Oh, one last thing. My rifle won't go into safety unless the gun is cocked. Is that normal behavior or not?
and for this gun therr is loads of aftermarket part . Action army/airsoft pro hop up units , action army/airsoft pro/edgi cylinder set , springer custom work trigger(without fast spring change) ...
The SSG96 has a 430mm barrel. I want to replace it right from the start. Any suggestions? The Airsoft Pro Hop Up plus a good barrel and im fine with this gun. Or is there a better option for Hop up and barrel replacement?
@@lokii7910 do you want to use aeg barrel ? in my oppinion best hop up unit for l96 rifles are action army but inner bartel gona be aeg type . good brands are zci maple leaf , edgi etc . but lenght i would sugest 430mm . as its best for type96 rifles...
@@raigardasnikitcenko869 i knew the brands. Only not sure which hop up unit with which barrel. Aeg is easier to get a 430mm without shortening it by myself. I dont need an EDGI but i want a stainless steel one.^^ round about 50 Euro for the barrel and round 40 Euro for the hop up unit.
Looks like hé based his hun after the maruzen design. There are loads of aftermarket parts die that system. I myself have the marui L96 which also has quite the selection of upgrade parts availlable though not as many as the maruzen design which had been copied extensively.
A big flaw when I got mine was the orange tip, the pin in the tip is pretty flawed I honestly have been trying to get it out for some time wish he made a tutorial on how to get it out I might have to drill it if nothing works.
Very nice review ;) Indeed it's great value for money if you buy a sniper, problem is , it's loud as f...k. Basically it's same as ssg24 and 10. It doesn't mean you can be heard from 50m once you shoot a bb and have a supressor on, but you can give away your position to someone in closer range, like 15-20m. In that regard SRS it's still king. Looking forward for SSX-303 though.
I'd love to see a sound test being done this exact way also for the SRS so we could objectively compare it. SSG24 can be pretty quiet. I added a link to my full testing results in the descroption.
@@TRIDOS.DESIGN Hmm...gotta buy a proper sound meter first. Even if on the scale the difference probably isn't bigger than 10db in real life it's so huge when just shooting the rifles one next to another. Basically the SRS you almost can't hear it when shot. From 3m my buddies hear my SRS just when racking the bolt fast. With a bit of background noise, like forest noise, you can't even hear your own shot, like its jammed.

Thanks for this. I sent mine back due to the horrible metal on metal. Mine was so bad that it was sticking in the receiver! They are sending me another one and now I know to expect basically the same problem. I would almost fund the R&D for someone to figure out how to get another glide ring on the back side of this thing. Shame out of everything they thought of, something like a smooth bolt pull was left out. I shot a 99 dollar L96 from the local airsoft store and the SSG96 shot SOOOO much better, but how in the hell is the bolt pull better on a 99 dollar cheapo vs a 350 dollar pre upgraded monster???

Alright, noted. Will be trying to make a TDC 2.0 for this one too. The re-stock, if stars allign, could happen as soon as next week but only for the PRO version unfortunately. The BASIC should be back in stock some time December, or early January.

Hello, what size of BB's were you using with that m160 spring? All the fps tests on Novritsch website uses .2g bb's for the joules test/fps. Wouldn't using lets say the .46g bb's they recommend have a big impact on performance?
That red lock tight was a nightmare, I had to melt it with a heatgun otherwise yeah you are right you would strip the bolt screw... im not sure why they used red when in the demos its blue lock tight that was used.
Does the SSG96 use the same proprietary Maruzen Type 96 barrel and hop up chamber or is it a VSR or AEG design? What about the included bucking? It seems Type 96 buckings are very limited in options but maybe Maple Leaf makes Type 96 buckings now?
one of the main reasons I was leaning more towards purchasing the ssg10 A2 was because of the fact I can put rails and attachments on...will there be any aftermarket parts in the future for this gun do you think? I'm still very new into the sniping parts of airsoft, so I'm very illiterate with this haha. Also rewatching your video now after checking out your site, definitely going to make purchases from you! You're beyond innovative with the some of the small yet convenient things you've created thus far!

I believe the problem is with the length of the cylinder/bolt the only way to have a magazine in the right place is to include an internal ramp to transfer the bbs forward, which according to novritch would always end up breaking.

@@grimsan55 The only part out of stock right now is the mag catch and we are trying our best to order a bunch more but there is shortages in EU wholesale warehouse for this part so we have to wait for the bulk shipment from Action Army to arrive. To be fair, some people have reported that they didn't need to do anything to fit the magazines, so you might be good without that part.

One of my friends bought this gun and we played a couple days ago. The gun was not working at all the first game. We eventually found out that bbs were hitting the suppressor and shattering.(we were using .40 bbs that came with the gun) We took off the suppressor and it was shooting fine until it randomly started shooting bb shrapnel.(still using the high quality bbs)
If you had to recommend just one of them, does the SSG96 beat out the SSG10A1 in terms of value? Or are you still getting similar performance with the SSG10?
Nice video . nice review . but all these called futures are copied like : fast spring change tac 41 by silverback , indication pin aps 2 maruzen l96 , bolt lock mechanizm in all l96 copies and maruzen , side change from right to left action army type 96 rifle , safety switch ann all l96 vopies mb01 rtc is in same possition so again he just copied from type 96 guns . nothing new realy . however your magazine loader head and unloder realy awsome thingys :)
