I learned the hard way myself.. but always buy" brand new oem" when doing timing chain tensioner, chain guides, and chains ...not fun having to redo the work with used parts...taking a chance of them being faulty.

You can definitely do it in a weekend if everything goes according to plan and you have everything you need. Being mechanically inclined you know that there is a chance something can go wrong. On a difficultly level I’ll put it at 7/10 only because you have to be precise such as having the engine TDC and making sure the cam gears are in the right position. I got faith it you!
I wouldn’t ever buy a used tensioner becuase the moment u pull the pin on the tensioner it will never be the same again so a brand new one is the way to go fs
At the time of the recording I didn’t have the funds and was in a rush to do the installation. I have since learned from my mistakes 🤣🤝🏽. I’m going to redo it soon!
I’m having trouble getting the front timing cover back on after doing a timing job. Did you drop the upper oil pan or how do you do it? The dowel pins aren’t lining up for me
Problem was the new oil pan seal (half moon) wasn’t allowing the cover to move down enough for the dowels to slide into their slots. I tightened the two 12mm bolts inside the pan and it pulled the cover down enough to get all the other bolts in👍
