US ECUs are often different to the rest of the world, so a tune that works on a US bike may not be correct for other countries......then there's the immobiliser difference ! Glad you've got your bike going again (last year now).

Anthony with bauce got the bikes figured out! Great guy to deal with. R6 was bang on 1st attempt. The R1 still took two attempts but was worth it in the end

Same issue with Moore Mafia, don't get me wrong, Chris is a great guy. I used the bike for a year, and it started to act weird, turns out the bike was tuned so rich it accumulated carbon deposits on the valves and lost compression on 3 cylinders. Around $1k+ in labor as we have to pull down the engine and had it dynotune locally.
@JT2JZ

That’s crazy! Thanks for sharing. That’s an issue I would have never thought about long term.

I have a 2016 Yamaha r6 with a yoshi full exhaust and dna air filter. I sent my ecu out to Vcycle Nut to flash. My experience was quite opposite. My bike actually felt like it had pretty good gains, extremely smooth and very linear power across the rpm’s. Even gained some power down low where there used to be none. This guy specializes in Yamaha motor cycles and at the time I got the flash done , any reflashes were free. I sent it out for a reflash because the bike felt like it was running a little bit too rich. He explained that even the all r6’s are the same and theoretically the same flash should work for every bike with the same mods, it sometimes doesn’t so it’s always better to take it in for a tune on the dyno but my r6 ran great. I would gap a stock gsxr 750 on the straights. Maybe give him a try. Like I said, Vcycle Nut specializes in Yamaha motorcycles where as Moore mafia seems to be more knowledgeable about gsxr’s specifically as that is what he uses to race.

unless unrestricting the ecu i think a dyno tune is 1000x better than any other option since its also the most accurate way to tune and tells you actual power numbers but again that might not be a option to some people.
@JT2JZ

I agree and wish we had a local dyno. Unfortunately not an option for most people

Damn. I have the Moore Mafia "pops and bangs" tune in my R1 and have have had issues as well and I am in the states. l am heading to see Anthony tomorrow to have my bike fixed at Bauce racing.
@JT2JZ
@JT2JZ 23 дня назад
What kind of issues is your bike having just out of curiosity? Anthony will fix you up no problem.
@brucarp80
@brucarp80 23 дня назад
The tune itself was never really done. The throttle is the same. Engine braking is the same. The only thing that I can tell was done is that RPMs were raised and that the pops and bangs were added. After the tune, I added an IRC quickshifter and auto blipper. Well apparently you can’t have the Moore mafia pops and bangs tune and have an auto blipper. The bike will throw you forward and almost off the bike if you don’t use the clutch on downshifts. After spending months trying to figure out why the bike does that on downshifts, Chris put out a video showing the same the happening on the ZX-10 with the auto blipper. If I never seen that video, I’d never have figured out why my bike would shift like that. I contacted Chris and he confirmed that I’d have to send the ECU back to be relashed. That’d be another $125 on top of the $100 for the pops and bangs to be added originally. After hearing about Anthony at Bauce, I decided it’s best to cut my losses and let Anthony fix my bike.
@brucarp80
@brucarp80 19 дней назад
So I was wrong. Moore Mafia tune was actually really good. It was just all raw power. The throttle was set up different as well. The Moore Mafia tune was way better at low end power with a lot of engine braking. The Bauce tune is a lot more “clean” feeling. Almost no engine breaking and the power is all at the top of the RPM range. The bike used to come right up in 1-3 gear w a snap of the throttle. Now it does not. When I launch, the front tire stays down and by the time I hit 6k RPM the bike picks up a lot of power. The bike likes higher RPMs now. To be honest, I don’t know which tune I like more. I love the torque from the Moore Mafia tune but I also love how clean the bike feels now. And the auto blipper works perfectly now as well. I’m sure Moore Mafia could have fixed my issue. I was just mad that I didn’t know about the pops and bags tune messing with the auto blipper and that it was going to cost more money to get “fixed” it again, I am man enough to admit I was wrong. And I was way wrong!
@JT2JZ
@JT2JZ 18 дней назад
@brucarp80 I do agree about the Moore mafia tune torque down low. I got my gsxr1000 snow bike tuned by Moore mafia and it’s crazy responsive down low. Just waiting for some snow to take that bike out and test it more. Chris Moore has always been a Suzuki guy so I think my gsxr tune will be pretty solid!

This is why i opted for a pc5, no dyno in my state and i was worried about the issues you had. Yes ecu might be better option, and if i had a dyno near I'd opt for that route over pc5. 09 r6, didnt want to risk trying to find another ecu for it. If i happen to get my hands on another ecu, I'd be willing to flash and see how much of a difference it is over pc5.
@JT2JZ
@JT2JZ 4 месяца назад
No dyno here either. I mailed my ecus out of country. High risk but when they finally got flashed correctly they do make a lot more power than a PC5. Just depends if you want to take the risk.

hey great vid! i bought a bike that had the ecu flash (what i was told) it idles a bit rough at or around 2k rpms. the guy who sold it to me said that's normal it idles at that rpm because of the ecu flash. can you share with me if 2000 rpm (unstable) is normal after a ecu flash? what does your bike idle at now that its flashed? thanks in advance! i appreciate the videos!
@JT2JZ
@JT2JZ Год назад
An elevated idle is an option with ecu flashed bikes. My r6 idles at 2000 but it’s silky smooth. Sounds like you may have an issue causing the rough idle

He definitely wasn’t happy with the situation. He’s ran into the same issue on the exact same year of bike with another customer as well. Never ended up fixing that one either. He said if I could get the bike to him In person he could probably fix it but that simply wasn’t an option.
@MrGhoulie
@MrGhoulie 11 месяцев назад
I bought an R6 with a full exhaust system, but no tune. I am worried the bike is not running properly, it sounds kind of choppy at low rpm steady speeds. I don't care about power, but what would you recomend to get the bike running better? An ECU flash or a Dynojet Power Commander?
@JT2JZ
@JT2JZ 11 месяцев назад
Your bike will be running a little on the lean side causing the chop. Power commanders are ok to add fuel again but from my experience it’s still not a perfect smooth running bike. I have owned many bikes with pc3 and pc5 but I don’t think I would spend my own money on one. They don’t add any power either. An ecu flash is better in every single way. Smoother running and more power so it’s a win win. The price is likely the same or cheaper for a mail in ecu flash as well. Only down side is if you run into issues like I had mailing ecus back and fourth multiple times trying to get the security issues resolved so the bike would start. If you have a local place that tunes them go in person with the bike and you won’t have any issues. If you don’t have anyone local “Bauce Racing “ nailed the tune on my R6 first try. Anthony is a great guy to deal with.

I got an ECU flash by BAUCE Racing on my 2015 Yamaha r6 with a straight pipe on it (including aftermarket headers), and after riding around 100 miles on it my engine started to have a ticking noise. Very similar to the “YamaTick” but louder and idle is rough and power is sloppy. My diagnosis is that I need a valve adjustment but please any mechanics please let me know what I need to do!!!
@JT2JZ
@JT2JZ 4 месяца назад
My bauce tune on the r6 is perfect so it shouldn’t be anything with the tune causing your issue. I would make sure you are using good quality oil that’s the proper weight before doing a valve adjustment. I checked my r1 valves when the bike had just under 30,000kms and they were all in spec still. Unless you have really high kms it probably won’t need adjusting.

@@JT2JZ thank you for the response. I did an oil change as soon as I got the bike. I used “Edward’s Oil Change Kit” on Amazon for my 2015 Yamaha r6. Full Synthetic SAE 10W-40 4T Engine Oil. I added 2.75 qts of oil to my engine. Oil was dark but clean. No metal. My bike has 21,000 miles on it.

Normally it cost around $500 and takes just over a month with shipping ( if you don’t have any issues ) I probably spent closer to $1000 and it took 6 months before my bikes were running. Sending the ecus back n fourth many times paying for shipping over and over.
