forged from left over mustang cobra and GT40 parts...the ford f150 svt lightning took the world by storm (pun intended) hands down one of the best trucks ever made.
Danny I know that filling listen my sister just got her license and my dad always had this 1994 Ford fi50 debadged lightning and never run let me say I was scared as hell of that truck it had wasp snakes and had old working to a fule line and the battery worked and mechanicals would come out. And say to be careful about it but she got that truck after I worked hard on it I was 7 and that truck was mine and when I was older I would drive it * I'm ten now and now my truck is a international scout* she moved to Alabama and ended up selling the lightning
Yes they were sir as they were very rare i believe from 93 to 95 there were only like around 20 some each year and i know this as i happen to be lucky to have 3 of them 2 which are manual shift
I wish I had bought one of these when they were less expensive. I'm trying to decide if I should save up for one or build a clone. Probably a clone, because I want to daily. Nothing crazy, I just want a clean 9th gen and the Lightning has the look. It would be cool if I could have the same frame and mods as the lightning...but now we are talking about a lot of trouble.
You are absolutely correct. I had a 1993. Bought it brand new . Automatic transmission only. Great truck. I changed it from speed density to mass air. 6 lb kenne bell. Kept stock headers, replaced that ridiculous 4 catalyst system with 2 high flow cats and 2 chamber flowmasters with 2 1/2 aluminized pipe duals exiting before the rear tires. Art Carr shift kit, Custom tune, roll pan, 2 1/2 inch cervini Cowel hood. Low profile fiberglass tonneau cover. Color was red . Had the whole truck sprayed with clear coat including tonneau. No clear coat from factory. Very strange. 3 inch bell tech drop in front 6 inch in rear. God I miss that truck!!!!! Sold it about 17 years ago .
I appreciate the history lesson here, I own a 94 F150, but you didn't have to try to copy the voice and intellect of the RegularCarReviews guy. You could just use your own narrative style and people would still watch your video for the information.
You never mentioned 340 ft lb of torque and that no it doesn't have the same towing capacity of a regular F-150. The lightning only could carry 600 plus pounds in the bed not even close to a half ton.
I have a 93 I tow my 1966 ford f100 to the racetrack to new Mexico and it drives up the Raton pass with that load like nothing's even on the back. I never out anything in the bed. But I know it can tow like a beast for what it is.
I use to have a 91 Chevy S10 with the 4.3 liter V6 and single cab. It use to smoke these gen 1 Lightnings also. The Typhoon is pretty dope but the Syclone was awesome.
@@SVTsupercharged reading your comment takes me back brother, I had a 92 Chevy blazer with the 4.3 V6 also, and I was constantly smokin tires and "starting fights"😂😂😂😂💯💯💯💪💪💪
Outta the 11,000 made Lightning’s, only about 2,200 came in white, which is the rarest of them all I have a 94’ white, 89 Saleen convertible in white and a 89’ asc McLaren Mustang in white
You missed so much on this truck check the frame against a f150 of the same year look at the finned diff look at the springs with rubber snubbers then the drive shaft with
I use to have a 1991 single cab Chevy S10 with the 4.3 liter V6. I use to smoke these Lightning back in the day. It was making over 300 horsepower and weighed thousands of pounds less than the Lightning. I know own a gen 2 Ford Lightning and it's a bad ass truck.
My cousin and uncle took a 94 f150 xlt long bed and turn it into a sleeper lighting clone kinda But it made 395 Wheel HP 460 TQ wheel It put the wheels off the road. I drove it for 5 miles of HOLY SHIT TIME!! that thing is nuts and now it has flame thowers Here is the link to see for yourself ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gil9488xhWE.html
There was a small amount of 4 door and extended cab Lightnings made by the company full effect. These would be real Lightnings taken off the line and stretched. These trucks are the rarest of all the lightnings and are quite sought after.

Did they even know you were racing? And if you only have a cam you don't gain much of jack shit without better heads.... You've at most gained 20-30hp if it's been tuned otherwise you probably hurt yourself more than you helped The 5.3 I put together had an ls7 cam, homemade ram air cold air system (that gained me about 10-15hp over a cheap cold air system from a parts store), hand ported/polished heads and intake, long tubes with 1 3/4 primaries to a 3 inch collector, and a 3 inch true dual straight pipe exhaust system.... I made right around 425 at the rear wheels on a 4x4 truck and I could barely keep up with a new lightning with a smaller pulley the old lightning I never got to race So unless there's more you're not saying you're full of shit
