The F160 engine is very good. The ZF transmission is excellent as well. 300k+ miles shouldn't be a problem at all if the owner isn't a complete tool and neglects it.
Come on Bob! It’s much better than have one off window switches that get sticky and cost $1,000 to replace than to have standard switches that work and can be replaced for $30 bucks! Lol

I love my Alfa Romeo Stelvio, when I bought it everyone told me the same thing, it would be unreliable and fast depreciation etc. I cannot imagine anything else for the same price could have given me that much fun all these years. Done almost 70k miles, interstate road trips a few times, no issues at all, just regular maintenance, really enjoy the design and how it feels, even it’s just a L4. As the big engines are giving way to EVs, started to entertain the idea of Italian V6 or V8 recently, so glad your video popped up. I understand that joy and feeling eager to set the story straight, Levante is on my list. Bonus points on the Hornet, I saw a few on the road and they looked just like Tonale, now I know why! Great work, never thought I’d get through an hour long video on RU-vid 😂
Thank you! I’ve been talking to the Alfa/Maserati service staff about the Levante because I’m adding one to my little Italian collection. Nothing but great things from them. “Bulletproof” “solid” “tank” were a few comments. It’s a brilliant vehicle & as a filmmaker, this will be my transport. Thanks again for the great review!
It's stupid to complain about shared parts. People are not complaining about Rolls Royce sharing parts with a BMW 1 series or Lambos sharing parts with a volkswagen or even the 5 series having the same infotainment as a base model 1 series. This was a stroke of genius for STLA. Other manufacturers have definitely agreed, it's cost effective business strategy. As a matter of fact, people owning these luxury cars are glad for the parts sharing. Why pay three times more for a Lambo waterpump if you can get it cheaper from a volkswagen? Consumers are the real winners here.
Hello Bob, thank you for being possible for the Maserati Lavante my head turn around when I looked at it for the first time. I'm looking at one the same color a 2019 for $27.900 (67K mi) which the BMW's $25,000 (54K mi). I would like to ask you maintenance which one for benefit for me to have for the next 10 yrs. All the other videos had a negative outcome. Thank you.
what i dont get is people compain thats its a parts car, this has been the same for years , Rover in the uk supplied jag with windows switches and controlls. in a world whare we r told to cut back on stuff, sharing common parts is a great thing...... does it make the car drive any worse, no... so get over it people..... love the video
pretty much all cars are parts bin cars. it would be idiotic for them not to be, and the ones that aren't are the ones that end up having dumb issues typically, like sticky buttons etc.
Hey Bob, I love this car and I'm looking at getting a 2021-2023 model. Max 30,000km. Here in Europe you pay around 60,000 eur for that. That would be a 2.0 mhev GT 330cv. The Trofeo is too expensive. Q1: What do think about the 2.0 version? Q2: Any particular model year which is more reliable than others, Q3: I am terrified of the maintenance costs. Being told that new brakes are like 3,000 eur, new air filter 300 eur, etc. Is it true that all parts need to be Maserati, incl. special Maserati brakes, Maserati air filter, etc? Thanks man!
I really appreciate your review. I have just bought an ex. demo 2023 model with 356kms on it. It has all the extras on it and got a great deal and traded my VW Touareg R which I had for 5 years. I tried the Alfa Romeo equivalent but felt the suspension was too sport focused for general use. I prefer to have the air suspension for comfort.
I don't like negative people and I don't like negative reviews. It is what it is, but I appreciate you driving a real nice car and it's awesome. I love it already! Enjoy!
What’s interesting about the window switches in Stellantis made vehicles, is that they started life in Mercedes-Benz vehicles in 2010 and Tesla was the first company to borrow them and then Stellantis put them in all of their vehicles. Now what that should tell people is that they are Excellent quality and reliable!!! They keep using what works.. simple as that!
What I forgot to say in the video was this, you can walk into any house in America and find the same light switches in a ghetto house or a mansion, no one cares.
They stopped using the Mercedes switches in the L series cars and Grand Cherokee in 2010...2005-2010 is when they used the Mercedes switches, totally different than the 2011 up Chrysler switches..
My truck has over 150K miles and it looks like it is brand new. This Maserati has 42K and looks like I just bought it new and it works perfectly. @@quasar3210
I really appreciate this video. I am in the market for a Maserati now and this helps a lot. Everyone has all this negative information, so watching your video is refreshing.
Hi Bob, I noticed your seatbuckle extender in the video...cause they are so dumb at Maserati they set the seat buckle so darn deep in that crevice. I own a Maserati Grecale: the design of the infotainment is horrific. So is the placement of the gear selectors and the stupid idea to have them as buttons. They are clunky and don't engage quickly. Also they are right above the touch screen for the climate control, which means the sensitive climate controls get inadvertently switched off/on. These design flaws wear you down over the time. - Do you enjoy having to hit the “accept” button every time? - In the Grecale, Tte audio mute doesn't hold. Many things like notifications in your connected phone make the music come back on. - Sadly there is a reason Porsche sells 4x more Macans than the entire annual production of Maserati. - Oh and I forgot: good luck giving your car to a valet. You have to give them instructions through the open window. The parking brakes only automatically disengage if you are wearing a seatbelt.
hey Bob, this video was very informative. I was looking at a pre owned 2017 model, but you have convinced me to look at 2018 and beyond now. Thanks bro!
Same!! I went from Range Rover which they bash then this one which they bashed . I was like danggg this video most definitely helps I’m getting 2022 version
That is one of the Prettiest SUV's on the market in my opinion , It annoys me when people say the same about the parts bin ...Here in the UK you always hear a Bentley is just a Volkswagen......really..a Volkswagen don't cost £200,000
Great honest review mate. I can get one of these beauties in the UK for the same money or less than a new Toyota Corolla wagon. Well, you only live once right?
You make a good point about the "parts bin" argument. I'd rather have working window switches from a RAM truck, rather than bespoke Maserati switches that break.
No, it's a Stellantis, so is a Dodge, so was my International truck. This is what people can't seem to grasp. It doesn't have "Dodge parts", they both have Stellantis parts.
Guess it would be a very great addition in any Audi as they all leak oil big time. So, it makes having a litany of Oil bottles in the trunk a great idea …so they don’t roll around all the time.
@@caseyfpv my uncle has a Audi he has to keep oil in the trunk at all times. Same with my Aunts Audi. She was horrified by that sold it and went onto Porsche and has never looked back.
@@caseyfpv my uncle bought an Audi and it leaked oil so keeps a bottle of oil at all time in the trunk and has way under 100,000 miles on it. Plus has expensive problems with the brakes also. My aunt had an Audi from new also did the same thing leak oil from the engine. She dumped it at 3 years old and moved onto Porsche Macan and a 911 Turbo and has never looked back.
OUCH..........................Freak'N Chrysler & Ferrari...............SOUNDS like Trouble via Chrysler and double trouble via Ferrari Stay avway from both IMO
One great thing about the Levante, there aren't many on the road, unlike every other luxury SUV So you stand out But for handling and performance, i'd prefer the Porsche Macan followed by the Cayenne before the Levante
