I'm glad I found this. I believe you're correct for a lot of reasons. I was a cab driver in Portland, Oregon for 20 years before Uber/Lyft arrived. The customer experience is paramount these days and many markets aren't able to compel Uber drivers to provide the Green, Green Comfort, Comgort, and Premier level vehicles to Uber’s customers. This 3 party approach benefits everyone in the mix; Uber’s got new cars on the road, drivers have special consideration in the algorithm, Hertz has solid rental across the Tesla fleet, Tesla has mass market, first hand, customer experience with the cars, and, I think, Hertz will have a very affordable 36 month duration on the sale of these cars. My guess is that they'll sell used at $19k and get snapped up by Uber drivers that have rented in the past. I've been renting for 3 weeks now and I take 100% of every order. Reservations are commonly doled out to me. At certain times and in certain areas I turn off deliveries and UberX. Other times I'm open to everything. It's ultimately about the customer experience and I think Uber/Hertz/Tesla have a winner in this.

This happened to a friend of mine. He rented a tesla and was making upwards of 8 to 9k per month he used 2 different models for 3 months than 4th month he switched back to his car and that entire month he only made 4k doing the same thing. This is literally redlining at its core only difference is they want you to keep renting the cars

Here in it's Orlando is $385 a week plus the cost of charging. I drive full time 10-12 hours daily & I'm charging 2-3 times a day at $15.00 per charging session. That's $345 a week just in fuel COST. So $385 a week for the rental plus $345 for the fuel COST for the week = $730 a week to rent the Tesla with Hertz/Uber rental program. That's $2,900 a month total for the Tesla rental. Keep in mind I do make $300.00 per day doing this and not everyone's going to make that amount of money 8k-9k per month. My monthly take home is between $6k-$7k It's it with it? Absolutely not considering Hertz will force you to take the car into pep boys out tire kingdom for a maintenance inspection every 6k miles and the inspection takes about 2-4 hours to complete as they rotate the tires and do some other shit to the car. If you don't have the inspection done on time Hertz will make you wait two week before they'll rent you another car. FYI when using a credit card Hertz will charge the $385 to the credit card and won't release the hold, even if you pay the credit card charge in full it means nothing as at the end of the month Hertz will pull all money owed $385 a week for 4 weeks plus the fuel charging fee for the entire 4 weeks all at once. It's a dirty racket on a massive scale. Public service announcement "Go to Avis or any other rental company in your area that's been approved for Uber rentals and run away from Hertz"!!

If you are in LA i think its worth it only if you are willing to drive till you at least make a minimum of $150 a day and you are driving peak times, you have to be willing to put in the work, and it will be worth it if you want to do it part time dont rent use your own car, renting in my opinion is for people who are willing to drive full time, and for people who have short term goals to make as much money as possible to either pay bills or what ever they plan on doing. Ive seen drivers make 1400 a week with the tesla assuming $500-600 for tesla and charges, leaving a decent profit of 800-900.

I got super lucky this week I got $100 bonus for 30 rides +80 for an additional 30 I believe and then of course the EV bonus of 140 and the only downside to that is accepting a bunch of atrocious small base pay just to get them out of the way one day I had 25 rides and only made $65 I couldn't believe it however this week so far it turns out that I only paid nine dollars for my ev so while I don't have the Evie I am under the flex program and renting the Hyundai Kona EV which is the 23 model it has a consistent 140 ride bonus for 90 rides for the week and then if you're lucky on a lift bonus week it could be an easy for $500 bonus consistently but I will say the difference between Uber and she can accept longer trips and you are responsible for paying left makes you work really hard in the first couple days to pay it off and then I guess you can cherry pick towards the end

Uber looting it’s driver and customer same time and they don’t feel shame at all. We are so unfortunate that we can’t even fight these billion dollars corporate. I really feel sorry for our fellow drivers who is struggling to feed their families, sacrificing the family time.

Yup, I wouldn’t waste my time. I rented for 8 months, I was one of the first in 2022…but i paid $2,500 a month (including charging). That is ridiculous. All you’re doing is working, working, working. You start the month -$2,500. You’re not profiting until you at least make that. It was fun to drive it around, but it was draining. Once November, Dec, Jan, early Feb came around it was slow as can be and I’m in a big city.

So you're taking passengers off the app? Do you have your own commercial insurance? If not, you're in deep doodoo should you get into an accident and your normal insurance company finds out

@@here-and-there1071 I rarely get a private ride off the platform and when I do have had zero issues. You’re giving someone a ride to where they have to go, it’s not that deep. What are cars for if not using them for their purpose? In the event of an accident, you report it, why would you include in the report you were driving a stranger and you should have had commercial insurance but don’t? That is just dumb and irrelevant information to the case if anything.
@josevazquez1042
@josevazquez1042 Год назад
@@here-and-there1071 I have given about 10-15 private rides total in the 2000+ rides I’ve driven for Uber in the last few year or so. Bottom line-you should be aware enough to know who is a safe person to offer private rides to and who you just tell “sorry, I don’t offer private rides”. I’ve turned down more private rides than I’ve given if that helps put things in perspective at all. I also live in northern Florida

Left offers a $140 bonus any given week per having an EV vehicle so the first is $70 and Axis 120 or however whatever but into tears of 50 rides and 20 etc. in addition to this they are still ride challenge is what I have noticed in my first week and a half of having an EV is that it appears that the Rife payments at least upfront or lower than average so I don't know if they try to factor that in because they're giving Evie bonuses but I don't think it should be different

A tesla costs more to rent and has an inferior mpg equivalent to a Prius. That's two consecutive deal breakers for anyone who rideshares to make money. What else, in the name of Baby Jesus, is there to discuss?

True... they started charging me around 5-6$ fee for 7-8$ tolls, then started charging me over 9$ fee. At one point, I saw a sign stating that they were charging 12$ fee on a 7$ toll... I didn't experience that fee because I returned the vehicle and stopped driving Uber... now I'm back, and let's see what scams are in play!

@THERIDESHAREXPERIENCE
@THERIDESHAREXPERIENCE 10 месяцев назад
I wont recommend buying one just because of uber . In my case i got a used one as my daily driver/beater and to prevent putting so many miles on my personal Tesla . If you drive alot you can easily hit a big number of miles just in the first year and still owe alot on your loan assuming you finance the car . Yes you keep more of the money you make when is yours.
