Women also have to understand that genetics, taking medication such as birth control iron pills depression medication plays a major role in hair growth not to mention if you suffer from iron deficiency you will have a hard trying to grow hair💎🔥🙏🏾
If you are done with it why watch? There are people out there who don’t know hence the content is relevant to them. On another note: For products follow creators like curly chemistry. There are a lot of creators who talk about products for low porosity hair. Could also be that your hair is not fully clarified 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
the track adding to her hair doesn’t matter because the strand of hair she was stretching was hers, and it was long. Long, same length as the track. it doesn’t seem to be adding length just thickness. Just because your hair is long doesn’t mean it’s thick
Regardless of porosity, use hair muds or a paste like Chebe powder. (Dries invisible.) They are like the thick waxy coat on plants that help them retain 90% of their water to thrive. Our ancestors used and still many african tribes with long ass hair use mud or paste because it maximizes water retention in their very, very dry environments. Hair is moisturized by water molecules. (Stop, minimize heat which destroys the molecules. Too much processing makes water molecules easier to escape broken hair cuticle and harder for products to help as well. Bleach ONCE a year, and use semi-permanents and color removers instead. Neither mess with your cuticle.) Hair butters help deposit water your hair loses throughout the day, the paste / mud & oil mix holds the water in. I went from dozens of products (wasted money,) to just 4. Yep 4 items. Water Chebe Powder + Rice Water Leave In by ORS (Olive Oil Brand) to form the paste Castor Oil - mixed in with paste Coconut Cowash (As I Am.) I co-wash each Sunday and re-apply the Chebe paste which moisturizes for 7 days. As muddy paste do, they trap water for a long time, then re-trap water when you shower from the steam or light misting. They DONT evaporate. Its very fine, solid matter in your hair which can't evaporate so it just keeps holding water all week. Some co-wash 2 weeks, but I prefer 1. I bought 120oz and an 8oz jar of the mix lasts 1.5 months. Chebe really brings out your curl pattern - I am speechless at these bouncy, springy 3C - 4A curls people pay natural salons for! My hair broke off at my collarbone all my life, and I am hitting armpit length for the first time. 18.5 inches of hair. The usual length of the expensive weaves I used to buy. Look, if it aint broke, don't fix it. The Motherland already has the instructions 💯
I'm on a hair journey and have tried many things and spent alot of money my problem areas are the hairline and crown thinning , I like what you explained with wat you use im gonna try your mask . Thank you
@@scottjones7689 Ah I think men have a little bit different going on with your hair follicles. Estrogen is what makes women's hair grow longer and thicker than men, and not to thin. Rosemary oil is extremely helpful on men's hair because it rebalances hormones in your scalp! That is a dermatologists report as well. Im trying it on my bf this month as he's starting to thin, to see how it works. Id def throw a thin layer of rosemary oil in on your hairline, message into your scalp every other day and follow up with ricewater cream + chebe oil mixture. You should only have to chebe once a week. I bout my chebe and ORS ricewater mix of amazon for 10.00. Men have a little different hair but hopefully yours starts to grow like crazy!
@@lottidabodi Wohoo good luck!! Be sure to steam your hair daily as you shower (dont cover it up!) Its a very au-natural routine, hope it works for you just as well ❤️
All I do is box braids my hair , then wash it when I take it off after 2 months, my hair is very long. I use very cheap oil coconut. There’s no big formula.
I don't give af about porosity and know nothing about it cuz it's not important, finding the correct products that work for you is what's important, and asking somebody else what products to use isn't going to help you since everybody's hair is unique and nothing anybody else uses that works on them works on me
The eetain length: either Keep your hair as stretched as possible (twists outs, braid outs, banding method) or just wear protective styles for long periods during the year
Honestly your hair type (coarse, medium or fine) is a better indicator of what you should know to choose better products for your hair. Sorry sis I’m just tired of hearing this because the full picture isn’t been given. Most products if not all never mention porosity so🤷🏾♀️
Rule of thumb: low porosity more water-based mists. high porosity more thicker lotions and creams. I need to moisturise my hair twice a day because it's naturally high porosity due to genetics and altered due to bleach and dye. So even though I have fine hair, i can use more products than most people with low porosity. There are exceptions to the rule but it's a starting point and then doing trial and error. I kept a hair diary to figure it out the first 5 years I was natural. My hair likes shea butter, aloe vera and behentrimonium methosulfate. Glycerin, coconut oil and essential oils are hit or miss depending on the formulation and what ever the weather is doing out side. My hair eats protein for breakfast and can handle way more protein than low-porosity people. My hair can be happy without styling products like gels, mousse and edge control....they are surplus and only need once a week. You have to know the 4 or 5 characteristics for most of your hair. So I have ultra-fine, high porosity, high density, 4c pen spring coils. I also have a sensitive scalp so I can't use raw oils and butter and grease so I no longer seal with these products.
@@marleyhill34Thank you for taking the time to type this! I notice that you said, high porosity hair needs heavier creams, but what if you have fine, low density hair that is high porosity? Sorry if this question comes off as confusing.
@@melaninmagic8742 no it's not confusing. You would use more of the mist leave in twice a day but at night add a small bit of the watery lotion-like leave-in on the middle to ends staying sway from the roots so you still have volume.
It has nothing to do with the length of her hair, it has to do with the facts of what she is explaining as porosity. All you need to do is focus on your hair.. It's a fact that black women who moisturize and condition their hair appropriately have long hair.. But I suppose you don't have anything better to do than to be rude towards someone sharing some information.
When I say out of the hundreds of videos, I’ve watched over the years of porosity. You literally just broke it down in less than a minute. This makes so much sense.
What does she mean when she says if it's smooth its low n if it's rough it's high, like does she mean what it feels like when she's rubbing it down, then that's how I determine the porosity, or does she mean what it looks like when she's rubbing the hair down?? I'm soo confused
This is great for those not in the know but don't forget that most 4c haired people have more than 1 porosity because not every strand is the same. So really it should be a combination of products.
Genetics and Epi-genetics. How your hair responds to its environment and how much stress are you exposed too. stress can come from diet and over use of hair products
Hi, which specific brands do you use for the products? Does the Chebe have a strong smell? How do you style your hair afterwards? I'm trying 2 strand twists and flat twists. Thank you for your help.
Im low porosity so I use warm water to open cuticles; then I moisturize the har seal and lock in moisturize with castor oil. My hair has grown past my shoulders. The young lady knows her stuff
Ok yeah I know my porosity but what do I do with it, that’s like me saying “I know the trick to getting abs in one day… you just need to know that you a stomach and that’s all” like dude just tell me how💀
It's called protective styling with a leave out. It's not that deep when there is content on her channel showing her hair, and this video is about porosity.
@@L0ve.intl3 My hair grew an inch this past month (well, slightly over an inch in less than a month). My best advice is do cardio (you can do cardio dance workouts if you don't like running). Also try doing the inversion method for a week right after you are done doing the cardio workout (do cardio daily for the same week you try the inversion method). Do this only if you are physically able to (you don't have to add oil...this method can still work w/o applying oil to the hair or scalp).
Back in the day, there was no damn such thing as porosity, and my momma used water, blue magic, a bristle brush, and a hot comb, and my hair grew waist length and thick. This "natural hair community" is a joke.
For the immature and ignorant people that have no sense...... There are so many women growing their hair down to their butts and longer. She's telling you about porosity and you're talking about, she got tracks in the back...HATERS what a disgrace to the race
A lot of women have grown their hair out to their butts?? Really?? I'm 54, and I can think of ONE woman in my entire life who has ever been able to do that! It has nothing to do with hating on this girl, it has to do with her misrepresenting what her hair really is!
I honestly think you need to just make sure you’re using moisturizing products , having a consistent wash routine (whether it’s weekly , biweekly , whatever you think works best) , trimming as needed , & not manipulating your hair in between washes . the game changer for me was really washing every week . Ik that doesn’t work for everyone but don’t knock it til you try it cuz you never know that might be what you need . I also just started using botanical products which I think helps w/the overall health of your hair & essentially the growth .
what’s your hair type im a 3b 4a with high porosity really thick almost armpit length hair. it’s been like that my whole life basically and i really want it to grow out longer. i have definitely washed after one week before but not often due to the “don’t over manipulate your hair or don’t wash every week” comment.
My sister has waist-length hair but she never wears her hair.....because that's how it gets damaged. lol! Even my tricologists told me to protective style my hair. Not everyone can retain length in a wash and go with their ends flapping in the elements...earth, wind and fire.. lol! Polluted dust windy city that I live in and the sun bleaches my hair. Straight single-strand knots and split ends and tangles for me. no thanks.
Thank you so very very very much because most people think they are low porosity because their hair doesn't absorb water quickly.... PLEASE WASH THE OILS OFF FIRST, as this young lady also advised 😊,then determine your porosity 😊😊😊 Now, I can breathe 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This girl is looking gorgeous, the hair😍 and this color 10/10 (both hair and clothes 💚) So annoyed that people are pointing out the tracks... clearly she's not trying to hide it... Her natural hair underneath is long and healthy as she shows by the strand she pulls out...tracks help for volume, density add a touch of colour...I mean com'on people be for real...
I've been natural since 2009....every 4c hair person with back-length hair wears a protective style. I went to a hair and scalp clinic run by black trichologists....they confirmed that best practice is.....protective styling. Now you have to know which protective hair style works for you and doesn't damage your hair. Twists and flat twists and silk and satin scarfs work for me. Wigs and half/ wigs/weaves with tracks work about 2 day out of 7. I can't wear them every day and I can't sew or glue them in. Crochet braids/twists work if they don't itch and I only keep them for 4 weeks. box braids and marley twists work als long as I dont' keep them in longer than 12 weeks and I shampoo weekly and re-do any loose boxes and the hair line as needed.
When I was low porosity- product with cetearyl alcohol as the second ingredient, water as the first, then seal with real (ivory colored) Shea butter. My hair HATES olive oil, so I avoided anything with olive oil in it. Learn what works for you and take note of the ingredients on the back. Good luck.
You scared me. I came from watching a quieter video to your video of you talking so loud, almost like you're yelling. Girl can you tone it down a bit.🤭 We can hear you. Appreciate your information though.🤌
That was stupid....thanks for nothing 😂😂 thats like looking up "how to grow my hair" on Google....🙄.....take care of ur hair like u would a plant, dont put weaves in it heat on it wigs over it keep it moisturized...drink lots of water😂🙄 if all else fails pour some water on top of ur head and yell: CHA CHA CHA CHEAA! ❤
You can also test your porosity, take a clean strand and place into a glass of water, if it floats, it's low, in the middle, it's average, if it sinks, you've high porosity.
A good natural hairstylist will tell you porosity doesn't matter. Keep it simple, get your grease, oil and water. Alternate, clarifying, and your normal shampoo.
@@pengu606 ,nope,I know her and have been following her,the front is her natural hair but the back is extensions!,you can ask her.She does however have long natural hair.
If you are of black descent, your hair porosity is more than likely to be high porosity. High porosity is very common in black people because our hair is very fragile when stretched or blown dry. high porosity hair usually goes hand-in-hand with curly wavy in Afro hair. When under a microscope a black person cuticles vs high porosity they look the same thus how scientist lab are able to identify the race based on the hair cuticles left at the crime scene.
But I am low porosity and have never had heat 🔥 on my hair since birth. I feel like it's also common to see low porosity but I appreciate the different view points😊
I find it’s not the growth so much as breakage. Eat for your hair. Indian women have beautiful hair and if you want to change your genetics then diet is the way to go. Skin hair and nails are mutable and change with weather. Fenugreek or Methi seed ingested has gotten me the best results.
Know ur porosity and study what products h need and styles u should be doing. Also pay attention when it actually grows so u can figure out why u retained the length. Ur ends have to be babied.
Why do people put these kind of videos up doesn't solve anything you just take it for granted people know what high porosity and low so we don't know a thing after the video is over waste of my time to watch you must explain people out here are not hair dressers this made for a hairdresser to understand nobody on the street knows what this is so it's meaningless wasted time if anything explain what you're talking about unless your hairdresser this doesn't mean anything and then explain how to correct
I have high porosity hair and always found it difficult to retain moisture. Hair breakage along with frizz was an issue and it made my hair impossible to manage. I knew my hair porosity, but i needed to know what would work best for it and learned humectants are the way to go. Seen that honey humectant would work and remembered i had some Camille Rose honey leave in conditioner that i bought 3yrs earlier in my hair junk box lol i didn't like the texture so i avoided it then... Huge mistake. Once i put some gloves on, sprayed my hair with fresh water and mixed the Camille Rose honey with cantu leave in conditioner IT WAS LIKE MAGIC. My hair retains so much moisture and length now. I don't use nothing else in my hair and can go an entire month without having to reapply products. That Camille Rose honey saved my hair like that, the Cantu and water are like the holy trinity for me. My curls/ coils stay popping and are juicy
Maintain protective hairstyles❤ Stay away from tight hairstyles❤ Waer a bonnet❤ Trying styling your hair with water ❤Oil❤ Heavy creams❤ Avoid heat Trims,Trim, trim, TRIM your hair❤ I love your vids sis. Everyone is giving some criticism so i added some tips Ig. I think we're all confused about what to do if we have a specific porosity so here are my tips.
I went back to grease + gel, coconut oil + gel, or raw shea butter on soaked hair and finally Im getting some length retention. I use olive oil with all my conditioners and rinse my hair well before I add the products. Leave in conditioner is used sometimes but rarely. I feel my ends need to be extra greasy to retain length. I try to add olive oil or mayo prepoo before I shampoo every other week. Sometimes I even mix shea butter and grease and sometimes I even use vaseline. If anything feels too greasy, I put consitioner on top and let it dry.
GREATBJOB, BUT I NOTICED THERE WAS NO MENTION OF NUTRITION...EAT YOUR VEGGIES IN THEIR MOST NATURAL STATE, IF POSSIBLE... THERE ARE NO SHORT CUTS TO TRUE BEAUTY.
A product called Noor hair fix is using your image, along with other haircare RU-vidrs, in their commercials! Their saying you used their product to grow yoir hair long!
