Super helpful. Currently going through a period of burnout due to working on a bunch of work I hate and no interesting projects. Need to do some introspective work.

I'm not feeling STUCK but STAGNANT. The studio I'm in is shrinking and I'm the only one full-time staff now. Most of tasks are outsourcing. But it doesn't make me more important. Each time I share new technology which can make working process more efficiently, my boss complains about being old and not able to catch the trends anymore. He also complains how hard it is to use EXCEL and tend to create grids in WORD. The reasons I haven't resigned yet is because I'm preparing myself for a better job, they can't do anything without me, and the salary is slightly higher than local companies.

I feel like I have a lot that are unaligned, and I know I need to leave... but I feel like my projects that I've finally have to show from the real world and not school are not as good as they can be, and doesnt help my job has limited resources. So now I feel even more stuck just because I cant update my portfolio.

I truly appreciate this video. I've been feeling stuck the past couple of years and wondering what it is that I need to do to change the trajectory of my career. The timing of this couldnt' be better! I'm really looking forward to sitting down with this and seeing if I can finally come up with some answers. Thank you so much for what you do!!

Super cool! I recently got an evaluation form handed to me but I didn't feel it really talked about career and it was not catered to the job of design. This made me think way more about what I want than that evaluation did.

Charli you must be clairvoyant! After the marketing design issue you released where you talked about momentum, I began to think about my work and life and the impact my work has has on me, the company I work with and the people who use the products I work on. This video and the worksheet will definitely be serving as a bright light in the uncharted path of self discovery and realignments. Thanks again charli!

7 secs in. no.😅. Over 5 years now at an web design agency doing UI, but the work kind of just feels like admin, been putting off redoing my portfolio for ages because the work we output is dull & I have no desire to look at software again in the evenings, worked hard to change my career path into design and have now slipped, need to recharge again. The mentoring sessions seem like a really nice idea. Slight side request; On your inside marketing design podcast pretty much all your guests are working-in house, the content is great and insightful but it would defiantly be interesting to hear from the challenges posed by agencies and freelancing.

So last year, I complete an almost 2 year bootcamp in UI/UX Design, since then I got a contract job (since come to an end), can't seem to get another design job, so I'm focussing on upskilling (frontend, and other design software) and building on my portfolio. I'm unsure if I want to be a Graphic Designer, UI Designer, Web Designer or Web Developer. I like coding up designs (still a beginner with this), but don't think I have the patience to just code and not design.

I think based on your go-getter energy you will succeed at anything you end up doing, keep going, learning and applying. You will get it, I was in the same space as you and I finaly broke in to the industry again as a React developer and I'm slowly getting to do more design now.
