See if you can stop the video on the Amazon page where I showed it. Or search for Dunnage shelf. You can get a skinny 24w x 72l, or wider and shorter. For my minivan I just got I bought the 30w x 60l and placed it between the sliding doors. I’m 5’5”. I can’t try it until I return to my storage in Idaho so that I can empty my van first. I had a high top and the motor went out and I had to buy a minivan and I’m stuffed full. I’m hoping I will like it side to side behind the front seats. When I close the doors, I will stuff the area with pillows which will extend it to 5‘4“ I think and I got it 30 inches wide. I will know in a couple weeks , and be able to test it out. If I do not like it, I will turn it the other direction and use my fridge for either my head or feet, or build a little extension. Thanks for watching .
@@kauntroap6339 I’m not sure what the weight difference is, but this bed is much easier. In a minivan I lowered it a bit so the legs stick up, but still lower than the matters. I won’t be able to try it out for a couple weeks. Thanks for watching and commenting. Both help the algorithm.
DId you try the bed yet. Wondering iif the metal shelving is sturdy. I found it also 30 in wide. If you could let me know. Great idea. Thanks for sharing.
@@lisagail3216 I just arrived in Idaho last night and need a couple of days to unpack. In this minivan while on the trip I purchased a 30” x 60”. I’ll get to try it very soon, door to door with pillows to stuff. The other one in this video, yes, I tried it. Very sturdy. Like any other, thickness of mattress counts. Around 6” is best.
How your living space looks is very important. Your eyes have to look at these things a lot. You have chosen peaceful colors and patterns that are neither too busy nor too dull. Bravo. How do you cook?
Thanks! I have a small folding table I set up by the door and I have several electrical appliances I plug into my solar generator. That’s what I use most of the time, as you’ll see on my most recent videos on cooking under $10 a day. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Very nice. I can't do dark either. I'm one that needs sunlight. I do have reflectix secured onto coroplast & a whiteish wood grain contact paper over it. Without those, the van becomes very, very hot. Especially in this Texas sun. 🌞🇨🇱
Several videos back I did a tour video of this van and I did swap outs of the decor. If you get a chance to view it, please tell me which part of the decor you liked best. Unfortunately, I sold the van and I put my stuff in storage and at Christmas for storages were wiped out and I no longer have the decor. The other day I passed by Ikea and I bought the pitcher again, but nothing else. My other van’s motor went out and I bought a minivan which I’ll be fixing up this coming week.
It’s super cute. If you don’t already, you can buy dividers or just use cardboard and stack the clothes on their side between them, that way you can see everything in there without having to dig for things.
I saw one video where the woman kept almost all her clothes in the pillows, both the ones she slept on and for decoration. It saves space. Small throws can also go into a pillow case. I actually sleep on a pillow stuffed with a fuzzy throw. It is very comfy. I like throws in them because they become more squishy to support your neck and lets you arrange them for your own sleeping needs. The ones with zippers are best, as the throw tends to want to come out if you don't. Or, you can put one pillowcase inside another, with the opening of the stuffed one deep inside the other so there is no opening at all. With limited space, decorating can be a challenge, especially if you don't want to make a hazard if you get in an accident. Decorating should be kept to a minimum, with fabrics carrying the theme. You want vases with flowers? Get fabric with that print. You want books? Get fabric with that print. There is so much you can do with fabric that can open up a whole dimension. Love your white curtains.
I was full-time in my 2012 e150 when I bought this as a second van. I used it part of the time for a year, I think, mostly going from Idaho to Oregon and CA. I decided I needed money and sold it last summer. Two months later my e150 motor went out. I went to OK (from Idaho) to buy a minivan and filled it with stuff from my larger van. I then went all over the NE, then AZ for the past several months, and returned to Idaho a couple days ago. Today I’m emptying my minivan to do a no build build in it. I’ve been full time for over 2 years. And no, I can’t keep my van that uncluttered longer than a week, lol. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Its assembly is like all chrome shelving units. Have you ever assembled one? The legs go thru loops at the corners after placing two halves of plastic clips. There’s grooves to catch and stop the plastic. Then you lower the shelf to tighten it in place. The shelf can be adjusted to any of the grooves. I can’t remember, but I think I have 8” or so under mine. And the legs stick up a couple inches, which helps hold the mattress in. Go to Lowe’s or some where and study how the shelves are attached, if that helps. I hope this helps you understand.
I usually use my phone or laptop in my lap while sitting in the seat. I’ve sold this van and will soon build out my minivan. Well, a no build, that is.
This was a first build to get started. I was planning a build with a 10” gap wall on passenger side and the bed against it with kitchen on drivers side. In the gap would be the closet. At the time, I had my high top E150 and this van and I needed money so I sold this one. Shortly after that, the motor went out of my F150 and I bought a mini minivan. In a couple days, I will be back to my homebase where my storage is and try to build out my minivan.

I felt the same way when I heard about it about a year ago. Don’t remember where I heard it. I’ve sold that van and bought a minivan I’ll soon be building out. I bought the frame shorter and wider. I’m going to try my bed between the sliding doors behind the front seats. I will stuff the end with pillows. And if I don’t like it, I’ll turn it the other direction and put either my head or feet on the fridge. Thanks for watching and commenting. It helps the algorithm to share with more people.
