Glad I did the PRL DP install too. A bit more aggressive with addition of AWE track exhaust, and worth the effort. Watched a lot of installation videos, and for someone new to working on cars, my pass to next person to do this: --1. Heat shield bolts where fun to get off. For 3rd/front heat shield bolt, had to go under car...legs sticking out from under driver's side...right arm up front of motor to 'feel' where the bolt was. Had son from front of car guiding me taking that last heat shield bolt off...and putting it back on. --2. Taking the cold air intake off gave more room, but for the rivet clamps, just pull gently to get that fastener un-hooked from hose...don't have to cut to get off or put back on --3. Electrical sensors...unclip from backing by pushing up on center clip on backside. You can't see this clip portion you have to pull up gently on, but after you get it off, you'll see from the metal "V" bracket how it was fastened. --4. Angle sockets and socket wrench help especially for the 14mm bolts connecting DP and FP. --5. The O2 sensor from Harbor Freight (tall one...not crow's foot) didn't fit...at least for me...on my 2019 Civic Type R. Went to O’Reilly Auto Parts as they'll rent you the O2 sockets...and refund all money when you bring them back.
Getting my catted downpipe installed on my focus st and I'm really excited for how it will sound. These babies love making turbo noises out the exhaust
I don’t even own a Honda and watched the whole video haha but I recently did the downpipe on my MK7 R and that was a chore! Great video and nice car 👍🏼
That's awesome job! Black power coating on downpipe that helped the heat soak from Turbo, that's great idea! Front pipe looked awesome too! It sounds good over stock. Look forward to see your next video on inlet pipe. I want Type R someday, that's my dream!
I’m currently having issues since I went Catless . it keeps throwing O2 sensor codes saying stuck Rich it is currently tuned. I have the downstream turned off. I don’t know what to do. Can someone help with ideas?
Nice! Stock exhaust, right? If so, any issues bolting the PRL DP / FP to it? I'm doing the same mods for mine but want to leave the exhaust stock for now. Cheers
Same here I just did the PRL CAI, FMIC and ktuner with phearable 1.5 and have the maperformance catted DP and FP on the way but am keeping the rest of the exhaust stock while I do some other stability/suspension mods plus wheels and tires, then will circle back and finish up the exhaust. Waiting to do that last because it wont effect much performance wise and with the DP and FP, I should be content with the sound for a while
I sprayed it with free all and let it sit for about an hour lol then I hit the ratchet handle sharply with a very small hammer while applying gentle pressure to loosen and they came right out like butter. I never applied very much torque I just let the taps from the hammer loosen it microscopically while the pressure kept it moving
Any chance you have a video of the sound while driving inside the car? I daily mine and don't want an aftermarket exhaust, but do want a little more sound without cabin drone
Did you torque your bolt/nuts that connects the turbo and the down-pipe to a certain spec ? Or did you just tighten then? Got my PRL down-pipe and front-pipe, just waiting on my inlet pipe now Your car sounds good! Gonna sound mean with an exhaust. Keep the videos coming!
I have a general question about my car and I’m sure you got more experience than me in this. I have a 2017 civic sedan Ex 2.0L Cvt trans. I was thinking of installing RV6 catted downpipe, do you think it will make a difference in the car? Also will it hurt the cvt? I got Ktuner installed and AEM CAI.
Everything is a fine in CA. Any emissions mods will get you sent to the Bureau of Automotive Repair to the State Referee for a full inspection front to back and top to bottom. It’s a royal pain in the ass. Only in CALIFORNIA
Exactly why I don’t live in California, enjoy your blue state lol I’ll stick to my right to bear arms and enjoying life, although I do love to travel there to San Diego, I’d never live there. Until they change their politics and all the BS.
