I find it comforting to learn from Dr. Tahir that if I'm sick and can't get to a doctor all I need to do is make a bacon, cheese omelet. Who knew? I'm sold.
I remember once, Dr Tahir offered the camera man the first bite and the camera man accepted. You could see the joy in Dr Tahir's eyes. He always offers his food to the crew. I think this is wonderful. When I fly to Pakistan, I want this man by my side. TPT crew, please take a moment and translate my comment to him. Thank you.
"It's like watching countless movies with one ticket" is the best way I've ever heard to explain enjoying having multiple ingredients or flavours that go together well in one meal! 😌👌😁👍
What an excellent idea, Mr. Tahir! To sit under an umbrella (or an overhanging roof perhaps) while a heavy rain pours down, and to enjoy such a gorgeous omelette. Why not? Sounds snug/cozy 😋🥚🧀🥓⛱🌧☺
He shuts his eyes throughout the first bite's chewing to allow his taste buds full autonomy over his senses. We should all learn from him and do this for our partners' microwave magic meals.
Popular in many European countries is a "Farmer's Omelette" - like the one they just ate, but with the addition of potatoes, sausage, onions and whatever else is lying around such as mushrooms, peppers, courgettes, spinach etc - the heavier the better, to keep the farmer going all day working in the fields.
@@julielong8714 A courgette is a zucchini. Courgette is what the French call it, zucchini is what the Italians call it. Some people call it summer squash.
We make that at my house but call it "egg mess" because it's a bunch of leftovers added to the omelette and, although it's very tasty, it looks messy. lol
I love watching these gents enjoy their food and share their comments on it. So it was a long time ago that I subscribed to await my 'Tennnnnnnnnnnn!'!
For people who 'lack utensil skills', you're doing a fine job! I know some adults here in America who still hold their utensils in their fist like a little kid!😂 ❤
I loves these men and have never seen them so ENTHRALLED with a dish like this before! LOVED that they LOVED this. I hope they learn to make this for themselves for their families!!! Would love to see that actually....bringing this to their family table! FILM THAT! XO
Actually omelettes are great for any meal, especially when budget and lack of time are involved. Quick and easy to make, full of healthy protein and filling, easy to digest too.
I can confirm it is halal bacon. The guys kept saying "gosht" which translates to goat or mutton, hence why the subtitles state "meat" when they say gosht
So many of us forget that so many places in the world utensils are not used when eating most foods. Here in California I used to go to Indian restaurant that most of the customers were Indian and perhaps some from Pakistan who ate with bread, I always ate with utensils, but if eating these nice people I'd eat the way they did
I watched this eating my typical summer breakfast of yogurt, fruit and granola BUT in the winter time, a omelet with cheese, bacon, tomato, bell pepper and onion is SO SO good! I agree with everything the men said. It def warms the body and is great to eat along side a cup of coffee or tea but I would add yummy toast with it. That breakfast is just too hot for me to eat in the summer time, but under an umbrella in the rain with some cozy blankets, yes please!
While the food may technically be halal, scholars generally recommend avoiding such names to prevent confusion, maintain respect for Islamic values, and uphold cultural sensitivity.
Bacon is the part of the animal not necessarily the animal itself. The word is derived from the Proto-Germanic *bakkon, meaning "back meat". Meat from other animals, such as beef, lamb, chicken, goat, or turkey, may also be cut, cured, or otherwise prepared to resemble bacon, and may even be referred to as, for example, "turkey bacon".
I’m sure all the people who watch these videos of the tribal men eating these foods, would love to see them taking the culinary delights they sample, back to the village, and put a video of how their experience is passed on to their families. Bacon omelette daughter? Here’s one!
I prefer hot sauce over ketchup on my omelette. My favorite brand is Texas Pete’s😋 I like ketchup on scrambled eggs or fried egg sandwiches. Butter, salt and pepper on smashed up hard boiled eggs.
Having watched this, I realize that I suddenly want to see everyone try a good breakfast burrito. I would love to see the comparisons in their mind between roti and tortillas!
Seriously, people? Of course it's not pork bacon! When you've never had pork, you don't/won't know the difference. It's not the big deal some are making of it. This is about them experiencing a new dish. They are enjoying the meal! THAT'S what is important. Experiencing food they would have never known about much less had the opportunity to taste because of this channel prepared properly for THEIR cultural dietary needs, not ours. Calm down!
Add a couple pieces of toast and a little fruit and you'll have a complete, well balanced breakfast. One of my favorite breakfasts is an omelet bit I like the western omelet because it has everything in it. I've never tried the beef bacon but have tried turkey bacon.
@@telebubba5527 Yes. I read it. I was just mentioning the types of bacon that were not pork. Most bacon is made from pork. But they are Muslim and can't eat pork. There are other alternatives to pork bacon. I was just listing some of them.
I realize Muslims cannot eat pork. Having said that I love bacon, real bacon, dead pig bacon. One thing about pork bacon. It is very good at helping control blood sugar in diabetics.
Yes, they should have some nice crispy buttered toast and tea with it. I normally scoop the egg onto the toast. Most likely shouldn't be don't in polite company, but on the rare occasion I do eat eggs (not a huge fan), that's how I like it.
Omelets are the best breakfast foods out there by far. Pair it with grits or hashbrowns and your stomach will thank you. I prefer a western style American omelet myself. In addition to cheese, the western omelet has onions, peppers, tomatoes, ham or bacon in it. I actually eat them for supper or the last meal of the day. It fills you up for sure.
Turkey bacon is ok, I eat it for health reasons, though occasionally have real bacon for something special, and there is no comparison, pork bacon is just way better, and I wish Turkey bacon was that good, but it's not. it tricks the brain well enough for the satisfaction of real bacon though, and is better than no bacon.
"You won't be hungry for 2 days after eating this omelette" 1 minute later: "This is not suitable for rural people, they will feel hungry soon" hmm.. ok!
You can tell how much he likes it by his lip smacking as he eats. The more smacks, he likes it a lot. Only a few, not so much. He really likes this food. Nom nom nom
So nice to see them try and enjoy a bacon omelette...next time you should treat to a omelette Lorraine which is an omelette filled with bacon and cheese..it absolutely delicious 😋
@@YARCHLRLBeef bacon can legitimately be called bacon because it comes from the same part of the animal. (the belly) It even looks like pork bacon and people say that it tastes like the best bacon they've ever eaten. (including me)
@@bobbiejojackson9448 I don't care what "people say". IF IT'S NOT PORK BELLY, IT'S NOT BACON. "Bacon is a type of salt-cured pork made from various cuts, typically the belly or less fatty parts of the back. It is eaten as a side dish, used as a central ingredient, or as a flavouring or accent." Bacon is it's own thing. It's a proper name.
Arabic clickbait "Look all everyone who thinks this is pork belly!" There is chicken and turkey bacon Maybe even beef could be used just fat with some meat on it That's what they get told to always read the Ingredients
@@kipcook6514Not true. Beef bacon can legitimately be called bacon because it comes from the belly of the cow. They've served beef bacon on the channel before so I would assume that's what they used here. And before you come back at me with an argument, do some research.
lol, Rana, Rana, Rana! Please make up your mind. First you say, "You won't feel hungry for the next 2 days after eating it", and then you say, "For rural people, this is not suitable because after eating it, they will feel hungry again soon"! Whaaaat?? 😉
While beef or turkey bacon is an acceptable substitute, I only wish these men could taste real bacon without violating their religious beliefs. I think the amazement on their faces would be priceless.
It could happen. Just serve it to them without telling them. If they don’t know, they haven’t broken any law or anything. At work there were 3 really mean African Muslim women who hated me. The patients supper came and there was a huge container of crispy bacon. The patients were fed and a lot of bacon was left over. They didn’t know it was pork… so they kept eating it. They LOVED IT! I would have told them if they were nice people, but I let them enjoy with a little thrill in my heart. But they didn’t know, so it was ok. But they did find out later that they ate icky, forbidden pork! I’m sure they felt defiled.
@@Bevitythat would be cruel to do to these men. I don't eat pork or beef for ethical reasons ( l love animals too much) and wouldn't like it if someone tricked me. It's a very tasteful meat so lm sure they'd like it
@@DonnellOkafor-r2d I wouldn’t do it to them!!!! I just said if they didn’t know it was pork, they would be fine in the religious sense. But I would never do that to them. Those evil women though…. But they had already scarfed down half of the bacon before I saw what they were doing…. But not our lovely guys, never!
@@FionaEm what exactly are you talking about? Our Tribal guys or those Muslim girls that greedily ate up the bacon? I would never give pork to the Tribal guys and those girls had already eaten so much bacon… and continued to eat it and love it. How was I childish? Knowing them they would have got mad at ME because they ate bacon. Punish the messenger. Why are you making a big deal of this? It happened. I didn’t do it. I just didn’t stop them and it was already far too late anyway. If they had been decent people I would have told them though. It’s not like they ever talked to me anyway. I just didn’t get involved.
They've served beef bacon on the channel before so that's probably what was used here. It's delicious and almost better than pork bacon. It can legitimately be called bacon too, because it comes from the correct part of the animal... the belly. All of the people who are whining in the comments just haven't done the research. They'd rather complain.
I used to work in Doha. all you needed to do was order Cured Meat and you'd get bacon or ham depending on whether is was breakfast or lunch. Worked in Kuwait as well.
When? Up to about 10 years ago that was illegal in Qatar. It became legal when I lived there around that time, but only under very strict circumstances.
If you do not have enough egg and cheese to feed all the people that need it, first you chop potatoes, fry them in the pan ,and then you put the eggs, and the cheese. This will hold the potatoes together and feed the people.
@@DavidLS1 Given they are required to wash their hands before eating there’s probably less of the diseases you’d find in the UK where some don’t even bother to wash their hands after going to the toilet.
Our bacon is usually pork but if this is turkey bacon it works. This would usually be served with toast and jam or wrapped in a wheat flour tortilla, so yes bread is eaten with it. Bacon is so popular Americans bred a special kind of pig just for that. Eating meals like this has become popular as "keto" food since breads and sugars can make you fat if you overindulge. A Facebook friend who is diabetic has had success with that diet, but I also "need roti with that". In our case usually hoecakes or biscuit bread. lol.
Now that they have tried it , it should be easy to teach them to make it at home. I think they have those ingredients. They can use any king of meat and I think they have goat cheese . Even vegetable omelet
Rather than just meat and cheese, omelettes really shine with some veggies in there. I prefer the trio of Onion, Mushrooms, and Green Peppers myself as well as using ham or turkey over bacon.
I just hope they made it clear to them that this is TURKEY bacon and that typically the term "bacon" refers to pork. I'd hate to see them travel abroad and order something with bacon unknowingly
